Whose Voice are You Listening to?

1 Corinthians 14:10 (KJV) 10   There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification.

If you’ve been paying attention to what’s going on in the world today, there are a lot of people saying a lot of things – some good and a lot bad. How do you know who is right? How do we guard our hearts from being deceived when something seems to be so right? Good questions.

The short answer is:

1 – ask yourself what the Word of God has to say about it and –

2 – what do you witness in your spirit?

God always provides a way for you to know what is true and what is false but you have to set your heart to hear from Him.

Listen to what Jesus said:

John 10:4-5 (KJV) 4  And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.
5  And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.

John 10:14 (KJV) 14  I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

John 10:27 (KJV) 27  My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

Jesus said that His sheep know His voice but does that include you or are you still puzzled about actually hearing the voice of the Lord? Too many people are puzzled or don’t even know that it’s possible to hear from the Lord for themselves. This is not God’s plan for us.

So, how do we know that we’re hearing the Lord’s voice – our Good Shepherd – and not a wrong voice of the enemy?

First of all, we have to believe what Jesus said – that we can and do know His voice. If you start out on the wrong premise, you’ll never get to your goal. Never, never, never say that you don’t hear from the Lord or that He doesn’t speak to you! He’s constantly speaking to us but with all the clutter around us, it makes it hard to discern what we’re hearing.

You have to set your heart to know that you can hear the Lord’s voice. Make that determination and stick to it. God hasn’t lied to you. If Jesus said that you can hear His voice, then you can!

Romans 4:17b (KJV) 17  …  and calleth those things which be not as though they were.

Speak forth what you want, not what you have. Just like you have to call for your healing, you have to call for God’s Word to manifest in your life. Time is too short for us to float along and hope that things work out. We have to be on our guard 24/7 because the enemy is looking for whom he may devour. We need to be the “may nots!”

And remember to:

1 –  Check God’s Word against everything you hear plus the witness in your spirit. If it doesn’t agree with the Word of God, reject it.

2 – If you don’t witness to it, reject it or put it on the shelf.

1 Peter 5:8 (KJV) 8  Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

2 Peter 3:17 (KJV) 17  Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
Revelation 3:11 (KJV) 11  Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

Be Not Deceived!

Ephesians 4:14 (KJV) 14  That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

It doesn’t take much to notice all the deception that’s being perpetrated against us as a nation. We’re getting it from all sides – especially the fake news media, who only reports what they want, whether or not it’s true! But, as you know, it hasn’t always been that way.

So, what can we do or what should we do to guard our hearts against all the deception around us? Well, you probably know what I’m about to say, if you’ve been reading my blogs for any length of time: what does the Word of God say and what do you witness to in your spirit?

Brothers and sisters, now more than ever, God’s Word has to be the benchmark from which we measure everything in our lives. We are not to ignorantly and naively believe everything everyone says. The only TRUTH is: what does God say!

2 Timothy 3:13 (KJV) 13  But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

God’s Word tells us that evil people will keep deceiving and getting very skilled at it. Only by the Lord’s discernment will we be able to rightly divide what we hear.

1 Corinthians 15:33 (KJV) 33  Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.

We know that if we hang out with the wrong people, we will become like them – thinking, believing, and acting. But what about hanging out with the fake news media and believing what they’re saying? What about reading books that contradict God’s Word? And of course, what about your “friends” who believe things contrary to God’s Word? Don’t think that these things won’t influence you; they will but not for good.

Proverbs 4:23 (KJV) 23  Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Proverbs 4:23 (AMP) 23  Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.

God strongly commands us to guard our hearts – what we put in by hearing, seeing, and thinking. What we put into or allow to get into our hearts is what will come out. And this, my dear friends, is what’s important in times of crisis. You don’t want the world’s evil thoughts to come forth when you’re believing for a breakthrough from God.

This is so serious. We need to be on guard 24/7, guarding what we let through to our hearts. Perhaps we need to change the channel more often! If the news upsets you, turn it off! You’ll get the main points along the line.

I know people, Christians, who are terribly affected by the news. This can even lead to physical ailments. We need to be very cautious!

I’ll leave you with this: check out everything you hear and see against the Word of God and listen to your spirit. If it doesn’t line up, reject it or put it on the shelf. If we sincerely want to know the truth, God will show us. You can count on it!

Galatians 6:7 (KJV) 7  Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

Matthew 24:11 (KJV) 11  And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

Using Your Spiritual Authority – Part III [Spiritual Authority – Part VII]

It’s not enough to just know that you have spiritual authority in this world, you need to know how to use it. Let’s review what we have taught so far.

We have the Word of God, the Name of Jesus, and the power of the Holy Spirit. We also know that we are the ones who must exercise our authority and resist the devil and he will flee. We also have all the promises of God to undergird us and the armor of God to further equip us.

2 Corinthians 1:20 (KJV) 20  For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

Ephesians 6:11 (KJV) 11  Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

So, how do we use these weapons God has given us? Simply by doing what He has told us to do.

John 14:12 (KJV) 12  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Matthew 10:8 (KJV) 8  Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

Mark 11:23-24 (KJV) 23  For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. 24  Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Too many times Christians pray and don’t expect results. I know that sounds counterproductive but I’ve seen it happen many times. They pray because they know that’s what they’re to do but never expect to get results. That shouldn’t be. They should get into the Word and build their faith so that they can believe His Word and get their desired results.

Jesus told us to heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, and cast out demons. And just how are we to do that? By using our spiritual authority and the name of Jesus! We need to speak to the mountains in our lives and command them to go. All of God’s promises are voice activated. We can’t just hope everything will work out. We need to SPEAK to the circumstances in Jesus’ name and command them to line up with the Word of God.

And another thing: we have authority over the weather! I think I just lost some of you right here but it’s true nonetheless. We can command the weather to be obedient to God’s Word.

Psalm 148:7-10 (KJV) 7  Praise the LORD from the earth, ye dragons, and all deeps: 8  Fire, and hail; snow, and vapour; stormy wind fulfilling his word: 9  Mountains, and all hills; fruitful trees, and all cedars:10  Beasts, and all cattle; creeping things, and flying fowl:

This really works but you have to speak forth God’s Word in faith. We have authority over our part of the world and it will respond to faith because faith created it!

Genesis 1:28 (KJV) 28  And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Remember the dominion mandate that God gave Adam. We have that too and we need to exercise it. We are the ones with spiritual authority from God and if it’s going to get done, we have to do it. We don’t have authority over the entire world, just our part. If everyone would do their part, things would be a whole lot better! [Note: We have authority over the earth, but not people. That’s witchcraft to try to control people. We need to bind the evil spirits that are influencing people to do evil.]

Jesus defeated and paralyzed satan and now we need to occupy and defend that defeat. That’s our part. Jesus already did His part; we need to do our part. He’s coming back for a glorious Church without spot or wrinkle and we need to be ready!

Ephesians 5:27 (KJV) 27  That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

 Ephesians 6:10-18 (KJV)

Using Our Spiritual Weapons – Part II [Spiritual Authority – Part VI]

We began last time teaching about our spiritual weapons. So far, we’ve discussed the utmost need for studying the Word of God and the power in the name of Jesus. These are two of the most powerful weapons to use when dealing with any circumstance. Speak God’s Word into the situation by faith and expect results!

Next I want to talk about the power of resistance.

1 Peter 5:8-9 (KJV) 8  Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9  Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

James 4:7 (KJV) 7  Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

You see, the devil will try to devour everyone he can but we have the power to not be devoured! We have the authority to resist him and all of his tactics against us. Then in James 4:7 we see that we are to submit ourselves to God first and then resist the devil and he will flee from us.

Just how do we resist the devil? By using the Word of God and the name of Jesus against Him – both of which he hates!

John 16:7 (KJV) 7  Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

1 John 4:4 (KJV) 4  Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world

Being baptized in the Holy Spirit empowers us to withstand and resist the devil’s attacks because the Holy Spirit is the Greater One Who lives in us and empowers us. If the devil had any sense, he wouldn’t mess with born-again, Spirit-filled Christians because he gets clobbered every time!

Then we have the following Words of Jesus:

John 14:12 (KJV) 12  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Matthew 10:8 (KJV) 8  Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

How are we to do the works of Jesus—the same way He did – by the Holy Spirit anointing! We are to speak God’s Word in the name of Jesus and effect a healing and a cure and a solution!

All of this might seem a bit over-simplified to you and questionable about whether or not it will work, but I assure you that God’s Word always works, if it’s spoken in faith. However, this doesn’t come overnight. It takes time to build faith in your heart. Just acknowledging that you believe God’s Word and actually having it in your heart in abundance are two different things.

Romans 10:17 (KJV) 17  So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Faith comes by hearing and hearing and hearing and hearing… the Word of God. It’s not instantaneous. It takes time, effort, diligence, and stick-to-it-tiveness. This is a life style, a way of life, if you want to walk in the power of God and see miracles right before your eyes!

So, keep studying God’s Word and speak it in faith. We’re the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ and we’re to show forth His goodness to gather as many as possible into His Kingdom! Time, as we know it, is short and there’s a great work to be done! Let’s go for it!

Luke 19:13b (KJV) 13  … Occupy till I come.

Ephesians 5:27 (KJV) 27  That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

Using Our Spiritual Weapons – Part I [Spiritual Authority – Part V]

It’s not a question of whether or not we need spiritual weapons. It’s a necessity if we want to survive on planet earth in these end times!

Let’s discuss some of the spiritual weaponry God has given us to be overcomers. We’ll start with His Word.

Romans 1:16 (KJV) 16  For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

The Word of God is our most foundational weapon against the wiles of the devil. God’s Word has every answer we’ll ever need and it works every time. But, it has to be accompanied by faith. Just quoting God’s Word won’t get you the desired results, if it’s not mixed with faith. But, when it’s mixed with faith, it has dynamite power to accomplish whatever is needed.

Of course, in order to speak God’s Word into the situation, you must know God’s Word, and that takes time, effort, and diligence. Then when you come up against a situation, God’s Word will come up out of your spirit to handle the problem.

Philippians 2:9-10 (KJV) 9  Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10  That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

Next, I want to look at the Name of Jesus. His name is above every name that is named and everything has a name: cancer, drug addiction, diabetes, mental and emotional issues, poverty, lack, etc. Everything that has a name has to bow to the name of Jesus, if we command it in faith. There’s that faith again!

So, what is this faith that is so necessary for everything to work? Simply put, faith is believing that what God has said is true and then acting on that. And as Andrew Wommack says, “Faith is our positive response to what God has already given us by His grace.” Faith is agreeing with God and His Word!

What we see is that in order for God’s Word to work on our behalf, we must use our faith and believe that what He has said is true and then take Him at His Word. It’s really not hard but “religion” has made it seem nearly impossible.

We’ll continue on spiritual weaponry next time.

1 Peter 5:8 (KJV) 8  Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

James 4:7 (KJV) 7  Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Keys of the Kingdom [Spiritual Authority – Part IV]

We’ve been looking at our spiritual authority and I want to ask this question: why should we be interested in spiritual authority and what do we do with it?

The first and foremost reason we should be interested in spiritual authority is because God has it for us and whatever He has for us we should want and pursue.

Secondly, we should not only be interested in spiritual authority but we absolutely need it to function successfully on planet earth. We need spiritual weapons to fight the warfare we’re in because we’re not fighting against flesh and blood. We’re fighting against the evil unseen forces in the world. We can’t fight spiritual battles with natural means. We need God’s supernatural weapons that will bring victory.

Even in the medical field, there are no answers for some sicknesses and diseases. In the meteorological field, man doesn’t have all the answers. Science doesn’t have all the answers. BUT – God has all the answers and He is faithful to show us how to overcome all the attacks of the enemy. And He’s given us the tools to do it.

Philippians 2:9 (KJV) 9  Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

Psalm 138:2b (KJV) 2  … for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

Notice that the name of Jesus is above every name that is named – above every sickness, disease, addiction, problems, etc. And not only that, God has magnified His Word above His name! Wow! This is awesome!

God’s Word and His name will overcome all that the enemy throws at us. We are so blessed above all the people on the earth but sadly, most don’t even know it. And I’m including Christians in this.

Brothers and sisters, we need to learn how to use our spiritual weapons to overcome the evil in this world and do great exploits for the Lord. We need to rise up and be the Glorious Church that is ready for the Lord Jesus’ return. We have a work to do, so let’s do it!

Stay tuned; there’s more to come.

Matthew 16:19 (KJV) 19  And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Matthew 18:18 (KJV) 18  Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Mark 11:23-24 (KJV) 23  For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.24  Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Ephesians 6:10-18 (KJV) 10  Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11  Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.13  Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14  Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15  And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16  Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.17  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:18  Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Man’s Legal Authority & Power in the Earth [Spiritual Authority – Part III]

John 10:1-2 (KJV) 1  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. 2  But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.

As I mentioned in Part II, the only ones with legal authority to operate on planet earth are those who enter by the right door, which is being born of a woman on planet earth. All others are renegade outlaws. And that’s the category of satan and his evil cohorts.

So, what does this mean? Well, surprisingly, it means that even the unsaved have more authority to operate on planet earth than the devil. How ‘bout that!

However, even though people on earth have authority to operate here, they still don’t have the power to enforce that authority. Only born-again believers have both authority and power to take their God-given dominion and subdue this earth and everything evil in it.

Genesis 1:26 (KJV) 26  And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Going back to Gen. 1:26, we are reminded that God gave a mandate to Adam to take dominion over the earth and everything in it. He was commissioned to be in control. He had both authority and power from God. But – he committed high treason and sold out to satan. That’s why satan is called the god of this world.

2 Corinthians 4:4 (KJV) 4  In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Yes, satan is the god of this world, the prince of the power of the air, but he has no legal authority to operate here. The only way he can get authority is to usurp man’s authority and convince him to turn it over to him – satan. And sadly, there are multitudes that have done just that, either willingly or ignorantly.

Stay tuned for Part IV. I’m still setting the foundation. In a later blog, I’ll go into more depth about just how we actually use our authority and power to effect God’s plans and purposes and to occupy ’til Jesus comes back!

2 Corinthians 2:11 (KJV) 11  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.
Ephesians 2:2 (KJV) 2  Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

Luke 19:13b (KJV) 13  … Occupy till I come.

Man’s Authority in the Earth – [Spiritual Authority – Part II]

Genesis 1:26 (KJV) 26  And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

We see in Gen. 1:26 that God gave mankind dominion over the earth. Adam was supposed to take that dominion and subdue the earth and everything in it. But he committed high treason and sold out to satan and he – satan –  became the god of this world. How obvious is that today!

God’s original intent was for His people to rule planet earth and they were to do it the same way God did. He made man in His image and was to emulate God in all he did. So, how was Adam to take dominion over the earth? How was he going to subdue the elephants when they got into the vegetable garden? He was to do it the same way God does everything – with His words! And God said…And God said…And God said…

Adam’s dominion was a word dominion. His words were so powerful that he would be able to stand against anything and everything that came against him. But, as you know, he didn’t and the whole earth came under the curse of satan and his evil cohorts.

The good news is that Jesus came and bought back what Adam lost. We now have the right to use our God-given authority and God’s ability, through being born-again, to take dominion over planet earth and the evil control that’s been perpetrated against us.

This authority doesn’t belong to everyone. First of all, in John 10:1-2 we see that legal entry in the earth is by means of a natural birth, by means of a woman, which gives us our authority. Satan and his evil spirits don’t have this authority unless they get it through a human being on earth.

Secondly, being born-again gives us access to God’s power and ability which, when combined with our legal authority of being born on planet earth, gives us the upper hand and the right to take dominion over this world’s system and everything evil in it.

We even have authority and power available to take dominion over sickness, disease, lack, poverty, and even the weather! We are powerhouses looking for a place to show forth God’s goodness and bring Him great glory!

There’s whole lot more to be said on this topic, so stay tuned!

John 10:1-2 (KJV) 1  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door (natural birth) into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. 2  But he that entereth in by the door (new birth) is the shepherd of the sheep.

Luke 10:19 (KJV) 19  Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

John 14:12 (KJV) 12  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Mark 16:17-18 (KJV) 17  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18  They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Bringing the Unseen World into the Seen World – [Spiritual Authority – Part 1]

If you’ve been a born-again, Spirit-filled, Bible-believing Christian for any length of time, you are well aware that there are two realms – the physical, natural realm where we live and operate on a daily basis, and the spirit realm where God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, the angels, and even satan and his demons operate.

What I want you to see is that these realms are not exclusive of each other; they’re intertwined. Things in the physical realm are contacted with our five physical senses – seeing, hearing, tasting, touching, and smelling. However, the things and beings in the spirit realm are very much real, although they’re unseen to the natural realm. They’re contacted by our spirit and the Word of faith.

The spirit realm is actually higher than the physical realm because the physical realm was created by the spirit realm; it’s the parent force.

So, what does all this mean? It means that if we’re going to be successful and victorious on planet earth, we have to recognize that the spirit realm is where all our answers are and we need to know how to access that realm and get our answers. How do we do that?

John 4:24 (KJV) 24  God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

God is a Spirit and that’s how we contact Him – spirit to Spirit. Anything and everything we need from God is in the spirit realm, being protected from the enemy by God. We access that realm by using our faith which acts as a conduit to bring what is in the spirit realm into the physical realm which manifests itself as the answers to our prayers.

This, my dear brothers and sisters, is what we call our spiritual authority and it’s so exciting because it deals with God’s original intent for us – Genesis 1:26.

Genesis 1:26 (KJV) 26  And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

This might seem like a lot to process but as we go on in upcoming blogs, I endeavor to explain this in more detail.

How to Get Them to Pay Attention!

John 14:12 (KJV) 12  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Jesus made it very clear that even though He was leaving and going back to His Father, His earthly ministry should definitely continue after He was gone. He also told the disciples that he would send the Holy Spirit Who would be the same as He is.

John 14:16-17 (KJV) 16  And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17  Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

John 14:26 (KJV) 26  But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Since we’ve been given a command to do the same works as Jesus, let’s see just what those works are and what happens when we do them.

Jesus healed and delivered everyone who came to Him. He also raised the dead, calmed the storms, and performed miracles of abundance: turning water into wine, feeding the multitudes with as few loaves and fishes, etc.

To be sure, when Jesus was present, signs, wonders, and miracles occurred. And that’s what’s supposed to happen with us – doing the same works as Jesus did!

After Jesus’ resurrection, we see the apostles and disciples doing the works of Jesus and having a lot of success. But the interesting part is what happened because of the signs, wonders, and miracles: people got healed, delivered, set free, saved, filled with the Holy Spirit, and the joy of the Lord filled the atmosphere! What a glorious time they had!

So what am I saying? If we take Jesus’ words seriously and start doing the same works He did, we should get the same results He did – people would get healed, saved, and set free! Wow! Isn‘t that what the preaching of the gospel is all about?

Brothers and sisters, we don’t have any excuse because Jesus would never tell us to do something we could not do. So let’s get going and do the works of Jesus and impact this unsaved world for good!

Matthew 10:8 (KJV) 8  Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

Acts 8:6 (KJV) 6  And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.

Acts 9:32-35 (KJV) 32  And it came to pass, as Peter passed throughout all quarters, he came down also to the saints which dwelt at Lydda.33  And there he found a certain man named Aeneas, which had kept his bed eight years, and was sick of the palsy.34  And Peter said unto him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately.35  And all that dwelt at Lydda and Saron saw him, and turned to the Lord.

Acts 2:43 (KJV) 43  And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.
Acts 5:12 (KJV) 12  And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s porch.

Acts 14:3 (KJV) 3  Long time therefore abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands.

Hebrews 2:4 (KJV) 4  God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?
