Have you ever wondered what your unsaved and back-slidden friends are thinking regarding Jesus and God’s ways? Surely they must be thinking the wrong thoughts to stay in their unsaved/back-slidden condition. Well, here are some things to think about that might help when dealing with these people.

First of all, God is a good God! That comes as a surprise to many people who think He is mean and angry, sitting in Heaven ready to pounce on people when they mess up. Not so! God’s not angry and He’s not even in a bad mood! He is LOVE. He doesn’t just have love, He is love. His DNA is love! He’s out for our good!

Secondly, whatever happens that’s not good or right, it is never God’s fault. He’s not the One Who didn’t answer the pray or send the blessing! [I’ll explain later.] But that’s what most people think when they don’t get their desired results. It doesn’t even occur to them that maybe it’s their fault. Maybe they missed it somehow. Or – maybe the devil got in there and obstructed the answer. No, they automatically – like a knee-jerk response – blame God for not answering their prayers. Again, they take no responsibility for the lack of results.

Thirdly, these same people are the very ones who don’t like the way God has set up things to work on earth. They want to do it their way and still blame God when they don’t get their answer even though they didn’t do what He told them to do to make it work. This won’t wash. You can’t play football with baseball rules and be successful!

These same people get mad at God for how He operates! Imagine that! They fail to see that Almighty God, Creator of the heavens and earth and the whole universe – stars, planets, galaxies, etc. – Whose wisdom makes our puny wisdom pale in His sight, has so lovingly set up everything to work for our benefit, for our success, and well-being. But – we must follow the rules. We have to play by the same rules that He has set up in order for things to work in our favor.

As I said earlier, it’s never God’s fault that you didn’t get your answer because He has already sent the answer. Now it’s up to  us to receive the answer that’s already been given.

Brothers and sisters we are so blessed above all the people on the face of the earth. We need to start walking in that blessing so that the goodness of God that’s seen on us will draw the unsaved/back-slidden back to God! How awesome!

Here are some of the things that God, by His grace, has already given us through His Word:

Romans 2:4b (KJV) ⁴  …. not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

2 Peter 1:3-4 (KJV) ³  According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
⁴  Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Mark 11:23-24 (KJV) ²³  For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

1 Peter 5:8-9 (KJV) ⁸  Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
⁹  Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

Just in case you haven’t noticed, there’s an enemy out there who is trying every way he can to devour you by stealing, killing and destroying you. But God has given us every tool and weapon to resist him and be victorious in this life. However, it’s up to us if we get devoured. What? How can that be? Read on.

God calls the strategies of the devil wiles. These are the tricks, schemes, and deception of the enemy to dupe us and cause us ruin. But God tells us that we are not to be ignorant of his wiles. Then He tells to resist him, which means to actively stand against his wiles. So what are these wiles?

Let’s look at II Cor. 10:4-5

2 Corinthians 10:4-5 (KJV) ⁴  (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
⁵  Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Wiles have to do with all those imaginations, thoughts, and suggestions that come against you and are totally contrary to the Word of God. That’s how you know those thoughts are not from God because they don’t line up with the Word of God. But, you ask, what if I don’t know enough of God’s Word to discern whether or not the thoughts and suggestions and imaginations are from the devil or God? Good question.

You need to purpose in your heart to get into the Word of God and learn what He has already said. But in the meantime, while you’re still learning, get hooked up with a seasoned saint of God who can mentor you and help you. Also, you must learn and practice listening to your re-born spirit. Do you have peace about what concerns you? If not, put it on the shelf.

It’s imperative, dear brothers and sisters, to learn to listen to the witness in your spirit and that still small voice that tells you if something is right or wrong. However, this takes time and effort and practice, practice, practice. But it is so-o-o worth it to know that you’re hearing from God and on the right path.

God tells us to actively resist the devil and he will flee. He didn’t tell us to ask Him to do it. He told us to do it and the devil would flee from us!

Be the ones whom the devil “may not” devour!

John 10:10 (KJV) ¹⁰  The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Too many times Christians shoot up a prayer to God and hope it sticks but it doesn’t. It just seems like it bounces off the ceiling and hits them right in back in the head. What’s wrong with this picture?

The thing that’s wrong is they’re not connecting. It’s like turning on a lamp but without plugging it into the electric outlet. Is the electric still being generated? Yes, but because the plug isn’t connected to the power source, we have no light.

So it is with getting connected to God. We connect to God spirit to Spirit right? And since all the promises of God to us are always YES, how do we get them to manifest in our lives?

First of all, all the promises of God are YES, but they’re in the spirit realm because that’s the realm of God. We live in the natural/physical realm, the realm of the five senses. Our job is to get what’s in the spirit realm into the physical realm so we can benefit from the promises. Everything we’ll ever need, God has already provided through the promises in His Word. Now hold on because the next step will answer your question of how do we do it.

Faith is the way we access the spirit realm. It’s the bridge between the spirit realm and the physical realm. Everything you’ll ever need is provided for you in the spirit realm and you use your faith to draw it into the natural realm where it benefits you. This is awesome!

God has set it up like this because He’s a faith God. Without faith it’s impossible to please God and those who come to Him must believe that He is God and is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him.

Let me give you a definition of faith: Faith is simply believing what God has said in His Word and acting on it. Another definition is what Andrew Wommack says: Faith is our positive response to what God by His grace has already given us.

Brothers and sisters, this is so important. We have to believe that God’s Word is the final authority in everything we do or we’ll forever be frustrated in our walk with the Lord. Always ask this question: What does God’s Word say?

It’s so completely and absolutely beyond our imagination how much God has provided for us so that we can walk in victory and bring glory to His Name!

Hebrews 11:6 (KJV) ⁶  But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
John 4:24 (KJV) ²⁴  God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Oh what a delightful time we have when we first get saved! Everything seems to come alive – which it actually does – and we’re floating on cloud nine! This can go on for quite awhile.

But then reality sets in and we somehow come back to earth – back to work, our daily chores, our daily commitments, etc. REALITY! What happened?

Well, nothing happened that shouldn’t happen. This is how things are because God never meant for you to live on cloud nine as a permanent residence. However, He does expect you remain on fire for Him. There’s a difference between the two.

It’s similar to a marriage honeymoon. Everything’s just great –for however long – floating on cloud nine but then it’s back to reality and working at making a good marriage, which I might add, takes diligence, time, and lots and lots of effort. But, as I always say, anything worth having is worth the effort it takes to get it.

So, now what do we do? That’s a good question because as I’ve observed Christians over the years, I found out that many of them are not on fire for the Lord like they once were. As I pondered this, I began to see where the problem was. And here it is.

God uses the natural, physical world to explain spiritual things. You’ll see this in life of Jesus and how He explained spiritual things. Babies in the natural realm, have to be taken care of while they’re babies, but as they grow, they’re weaned from having their parents do everything for them and they begin to do some things for themselves. Why? Because they’re taught how to do it and that’s what growing up is all about.

It’s the same in spiritual things because God doesn’t want us to remain spiritual babies for our entire Christian lives. He intends for us to grow up and become mature, adult Christians who are able to then teach the younger Christians. Sadly, this is not what happens in many lives.

We, in the Body of Christ, the Church, must grow up. What’s happened to many young Christians (young in the Lord) is that they get saved, on fire, and then don’t get taught how to stand on God’s Word. Then when problems arise, if they don’t get their desired results, they get disillusioned and either grow cold or backslide back to their former days. All the while, they’re living defeated lives. This is so sad.

Here’s an example: if they get sick and pray for healing but don’t see their healing manifest, they naturally blame God. This is wrong because God is never the problem. But they don’t know this because they haven’t been taught the truth about how to get healed. Therefore, if it doesn’t happen, they automatically blame God, never even considering that they could have missed it.

That’s why we need to pray for these people that God will send laborers across their paths to teach them about Jesus and reignite their candles.

Brothers and sisters, we must stay in God’s Word because that’s how we grow. Listen and read after good anointed teaching from reputable Bible teachers.

And here’s another thing: faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. And since God has given each of us the measure of faith – not more, not less than someone else – how do we get strong faith? It’s simple—by the Word of God because that’s where faith is. Therefore, the more active, strong, powerful faith you have is directly proportional to the amount of Word you have in you. Little Word, little active faith; lots of Word, lots of active, strong, powerful faith.

And that’s it in a nutshell! I love God’s Word!

We’ve had an enormous (for us in Eastern PA) amount of snow this winter season – over fifty inches! Last year be barely had over five inches. What a difference!

So as I gazed out the back door, I pondered about how those tiny little flakes can pile up so much snow and I concluded that it was little by little.

It started me thinking about how this relates to the things of God. It’s little by little, line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little, there a little. And before you know it, we’ve actually made some progress. Note that this happens in the negative as well.

Sometimes it seems that we study and study and wonder if we’re making any significant progress. But just look back to where you were a year ago, five years ago, and for those who just got saved, look back a week ago and see the progress you’ve made.

It doesn’t seem like much at the time when you’re reading your Bible daily, but you’re feeding your spirit and over a period of time, the Word will become cemented in you and when you open your mouth to pray, power will come forth!

It’s like looking at three feet of snow but knowing that one shovel at a time will get the job done. The same with knitting – it doesn’t look like you’re making any progress but after a while you look at your project and it actually looks like an afghan – one stitch at a time.

Remember, brothers and sisters, growing in the things of God takes time and effort. There’s no microwaving the Word of God into your life. (We’ll be learning for all eternity.) You have to learn addition, subtraction, multiplication and division before you can learn algebra.

Time spent in studying and learning God’s Word and ways is time well spent and will pay enormous dividends of victory and success in your life!

Isaiah 28:10 (KJV) ¹⁰  For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

You can’t build the second floor if there’s no foundation! Of course, that’s understandable in the physical realm but what about the spiritual realm? It’s the same way. And if you know this and understand that it’s going to take effort to grow in the Lord, you’re far ahead of many Christians.

1 Peter 2:2 (KJV) ²  As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
1 Peter 2:2 (AMP) ²  Like newborn babies you should crave (thirst for, earnestly desire) the pure (unadulterated) spiritual milk, that by it you may be nurtured and grow unto [completed] salvation,

New born-again Christians are exhorted by the Lord to desire the sincere milk of the word so that they can grow, mature, and go on to eating the meat of the Word. Unfortunately, many Christians, if not most, get saved and then get stuck! They don’t go on and mature so now we see aged Christians in the Church who are actually babies. This is not good and I’ll tell you why.

If babies don’t’ grow up, they become stunted and crippled in their walk with the Lord. They go to pray but when they don’t see their desired results, they start to lose heart and it’s only a matter of time until they become a CHINO—Christian In Name Only. There’s no joy, no power, no supernatural manifestations in their lives. But this can all change!

It’s a known method when learning a language to actually go to that specific country where they speak the language you want to learn and immerse yourself in it. That’s called the immersion method. And so it is with learning and growing up in the Word of God. You have to immerse yourself in God’s Word for God’s Word to get in you and you can grow. Immersion is the way to build your foundation so that your second floor won’t cave in.

So, how do we do that? It’s really very simple but it takes time, effort, and diligence. And, get this—you actually have to read and study the Word of God, not just quote a few daily scriptures as you’re running out the door to work! But, my dear brothers and sisters, it’s worth all the effort and more because you’ll get to the place where you begin to see God’s Word come alive in your life! And that is more than money can buy!

Time spent in the Word of God is never wasted because time spent in the Word is time spent with God because Jesus is the Word of God!

John 1:1 (KJV) ¹  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Ephesians 4:14 (KJV) ¹⁴  That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

Too many people want to believe God – if only they could see Him! But that’s not the way it works. Everything we do must be done in faith or it’s not pleasing to God and He can’t honor it. So, does that mean we can’t know what God looks like? Absolutely not! We actually can know what God looks like and I’m going to show you how. We must always go to God’s Word to find the truth. So here we go.

John 14:9 (KJV) ⁹  Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?

Colossians 1:15 (KJV) ¹⁵  Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

Hebrews 1:3 (KJV) ³  Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

John told Philip that seeing Him – Jesus – is the same thing as seeing the Father. That tells us that if we know what Jesus looks like, then we can know what our Heavenly Father looks like. How cool is that! Let’s look at Jesus.

John 14:7 (KJV) ⁷  If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

Notice that if we know what Jesus looks like we can know what the Father looks like. If we’ve seen Jesus, we’ve seen the Father. So we know that God the Father looks like a man! How ‘bout that! Of course, He’s clothed in His glory so we really can’t see Him the way He truly is until we get to Heaven because our mortal bodies would disintegrate from the magnificence of His glory. Even Moses had to be hidden in the cleft of the rock so that He wouldn’t see God’s face and die. That’s very clear. But is that all there is to Jesus—what He looks like?

Exodus 33:22 (KJV) ²²  And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by:

It’s  like saying that all there is to you is your appearance. But not so. You have a personality, character, a way about you, what you do and believe, etc. This all makes up who you are. And so it is with the Lord Jesus. Let’s look at some more scriptures.

Acts 10:38 (KJV) ³⁸  How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

At any one point in time, you could probably see Jesus doing someone some good. That’s what He did and not only that, He sent terror into the devil’s ranks, casting out demons and setting people free from satanic bondage.

1 John 3:8b (KJV) ⁸  … For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
1 John 3:8b (AMP) ⁸  …  The reason the Son of God was made manifest (visible) was to undo (destroy, loosen, and dissolve) the works the devil [has done].

So if you want to know what God looks like, look at Jesus, the perfect image of the invisible God.

In case you’re wondering why people could look at Jesus and not die, it’s because the glory of God that was in Jesus was clothed in His earthly body. Awesome, isn’t it!

Luke 4:18 (KJV) ¹⁸  The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
Philippians 2:6 (KJV) ⁶  Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
John 5:19 (KJV) ¹⁹  Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

¹⁹  And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.

There’s a difference between knowing and believing God’s Word and actually walking in His Word. Hm-m-m –let’s see what that means.

If you were to do a survey of born-again Christians, most of them would say that they believe God’s Word and that it’s true. Now, among uncommitted Christians, this might not be so. But I’m talking about Christians who love the Lord.

So how do we know which group we’re in? Good question. Let me give you an example. Let’s talk about healing and you agree that I Peter 2:24 is for today and that by the stripes of Jesus you’re already healed. [If you even believe that today, you’re ahead of a multitude of Christians!] Then you get sick. What do you do? You pray and stand on the Word and pray and stand on the Word, but no results! What’s the problem? You believe but you’re not getting the desired results.

Well, there could be any number of reasons for the lack of results but I want to focus on one particular point. You believe in your head – no question – that God can heal. He’s done it before and He can do it again. You believe that. But the problem is that it’s in your head and not in your heart. It has to get down in your heart and fill up so that when you speak the Word of healing, it comes out with power. Because out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.

Matthew 12:34b (KJV) ³⁴  … for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

This is where most people miss it. They say they believe that God can heal them but it’s not deep down in their heart. And it only gets down in your heart by continually speaking and confessing it. And this, dear brothers and sisters, takes time. You can’t microwave faith for healing! It takes time to renew your mind to God’s Word because there’s so much junk from the world cluttering your heart and crowding out the Word.

If we want to see God’s results in our lives, we must diligently renew our minds to His Word by actually getting into the Word. There’s no short cut. Even Jesus didn’t know everything when He was born! He had to grow too and so do you!

Of course, as I always say, this takes time and effort but it’s so worth it to get God’s results. This is what God wants for us. This is His Word and He watches over it to cause it to come to pass in the lives of those who stand on it in faith. Let’s be the people of God who stand on His Word and get results and glorify the Lord of Glory!

Proverbs 4:20-23 (KJV) ²⁰  My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
²¹  Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.

Can we really have peace in the middle of a storm? Of course we can but it’s not automatic. Just think of all the times God tells us to “fear not.” Every time an angel appeared, he greeted them saying, “Fear not!” Why? Because fear and peace don’t mix. Just like fear and faith don’t’ mix, fear and peace don’t mix. They negate each other.

That’s how it is with peace. If you want peace in your life, and we all do, then we’re going to have to guard our hearts and keep fear out. Another thing is that if you’re in fear, it’s because you’re looking at and focusing on the wrong things: health issues, bad reports, financial woes, family issues, and of course, the world situation. Any number of things can cloud your minds and hinder your faith from working because they’re fear based.

Proverbs 4:23 (AMP) ²³  Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.

Proverbs 16:3 (AMP) ³  Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and] so shall your plans be established and succeed.

We have an obligation to guard our hearts so that fear can’t get in and wreak havoc.

Jesus firmly told us to NOT let our hearts be troubled and then He says that He gave us His peace. And if Jesus gives us His peace, we have peace!

John 14:1 (KJV) ¹  Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

John 14:27 (KJV) ²⁷  Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Notice in Gal. 5:22-23 that peace is a fruit of your re-born spirit. It’s in there because you get it when you’re born-again. But it’s up to you to release it and let it come forth. I say it like this, “I release peace to come forth and manifest in my life!” That’s what you can do with all nine fruits – release them to come forth and manifest.

Of course, you must resist fear and command it to go and it has to leave. You’re the one in charge. You’re the one with spiritual authority but you have to step out in faith and act on God’s Word in order for God’s Word to profit you.

What a loving Father we have Who has so provided for us! Praise the Lord of Glory!

It seems that in the game of life, which isn’t really a game, you’re either on one side of the other at any one time. And so it is today during all the upheaval that’s going on in our nation. People are waffling, caving, and back-stepping from the good stand they had. This ought not to be.

You can’t walk in darkness and expect to have life. Darkness obscures the light and the light is where life is. Jesus said that we are the light of the world. That means that we are to bring joy and hope everywhere we go – not doom and gloom! To see some of God’s people, you’d think they were baptized in lemon juice!

For those of you who have stood with God’s people, and His prophets, through this horrendous upheaval we’re in, know that God is very much aware and never overlooks faith-filled prayers. Those prayers are before Him night and day. His Plan and His glory is invading the earth and we’re about to see the greatest Revival and harvest earth has ever seen!

But for those who have come against us and tried to defame, discredit, and destroy us – look out! They’re on very dangerous ground – very thin ice and I can hear the sound of crackling!

Hold fast, dear brothers and sisters, because God is faithful and we will come out of this successful and victorious!
