Are You a “True” Believer?

Are you aware that not all believers really believe? Are you a believer – a “true” believer?

Let’s start with what a believer is. Basically, a believer is someone who has received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of their life and believes the whole Word of God and acts that way.

So, you say, of course that’s me! Hopefully it is. But the major of born-again Christians don’t really believe God’s Word as the final authority. Yes, they believe in salvation but when I comes to healing or prosperity, they waver and doubt God’s Word.

The Word says that Jesus Christ is the same today, yesterday, and forever. And since Jesus is the Word of God, that means His Word is the same today, yesterday, and forever!

If healing was here when Jesus walked the earth, then healing is still for us. If it was ever God’s will to heal – and it was from the beginning – then it’s still God’s will to heal today.

So many Christians have been fed a bucket of lies that healing has passed away. What an indictment against our gracious Father! Oh, the lies that have been perpetuated against Him!

And as it is with healing, so it is with prosperity. It has always been God’s will for His people to prosper and succeed in every area of their lives. The scripture is replete with prosperity for us.

Think about it. What parent wants their children to live in failure, defeat, and poverty all their lives? No good parent would want that. How much more does God want His children to prosper and succeed! Are earthly parents better than God? Of course not!

Sad to say, the devil has convinced so many Christians that poverty is the way to humility but that just isn’t so. Poverty is a curse and a stench in the nostrils of God!

How can you be a blessing and help others if you’re in poverty and barely getting along? Even common sense tells you that it just doesn’t work that way.

So, what we need to do as “true” believers, is to BELIEVE that what God said in His word is the truth that we must live by and see the victory that God has provided for us in every area of our lives!

Hebrews 13:8 (KJV) 8  Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
John 17:17 (KJV) 17  Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

1 Peter 2:24 (KJV) 24  Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
3 John 1:2 (KJV) 2  Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

Why Did the Fig Tree Obey Jesus?

Mark 11:12-14 (KJV) 12  And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry:
13  And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.
14  And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.

Mark 11:20-21 (KJV) 20  And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.
21  And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.

When Jesus saw the fig tree, it purported itself to have fruit but when He approached, He found that the tree was a fraud – no figs! Then He commanded it to never produce figs again.

When the disciples saw it the next day, it had dried up at the roots. Why?

You can say that whatever Jesus said or did came to pass. It worked, of course. But why did it work? Why did the tree – a seemingly inanimate object – obey His command?

Well, according to quantum physics, everything on this planet has vibration and frequency. At the subatomic level, everything is moving – faster or slower – depending on the circumstances and what the object actually is. The slower the vibration, the more solid the object, ex. a table or chair.

I believe that when Jesus spoke faith-filled words to the fig tree, it actually responded to Him at the subatomic level and immediately began to dry up at the roots. In fact, the Word says that Jesus answered the tree. So, evidently it had been talking to Him!

Another fact about quantum physics is that the subatomic level is made up of sound waves. And since it’s made up of sound waves, it responds to sound waves!

Remember in Genesis 1:3 when God said, “Light be” and light was? He used His faith-filled Words and spoke light into existence! How awesome is that!

Now, notice Mark 11:23-24:

Mark 11:23-24 (KJV) 23  For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24  Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Jesus tells us to speak to the mountain and it will obey. The faith-filled words that we speak will affect things at the subatomic level and change the thing that is, to what it should be.

God’s Word is filled with His faith energy, His DNA, and changes natural things by spiritual methods – calling things that are not as though they were and declaring the end from the beginning.

Romans 4:17b (KJV) 17 even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.
Isaiah 46:10 (KJV) 10  Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

We are in a unique position as born-again, spirit-filled, spirit-led Christians to be able to change this present world by the faith-filled words we speak because the things that are seen are temporary. But the things that are not seen are eternal.

It’s the things in the spirit realm that are not seen but are capable of changing the things that we can see – the temporary things. Remember, the spirit realm is the parent realm of the physical realm which is, therefore, subject to the spirit realm. What an exciting time to be alive on planet earth! Let’s do all we can to line up and fulfill God’s plans for our lives!

Much Ado About Faith & God’ s Word!

Why do we make so much ado about faith and the Word of God? First of all, when God speaks, we should listen. He’s way better than E. F. Hutton!

Remember when Jesus and His inner crowd – Peter, James, and John – were on the mount of Transfiguration? Jesus was transformed right before their eyes in all His glory – at least as much as they could physical stand – and then Moses and Elijah showed up! What a sight that must have been! It undoubtedly changed them forever.

However, Peter goes on to say in II Peter 1:19 that in spite of what he saw right before His eyes on that day, there was even something better and more sure and reliable. It was the Word of God!

You see, our five physical senses, what we need on planet earth, are not always reliable. They can deceive us. If we’re overtired, we can imagine seeing things that aren’t really there. If we’re distraught or have had a traumatic experience, our senses can be deceived. And the list goes on.

But God’s infallible Word never changes. It’s forever settled in Heaven and He has magnified His Word above His Name, which is above every name that is named in Heaven, in earth, and under the earth.

God’s Word is the ultimate benchmark from which everything we think, do, or imagine should be measured. His Word is the key to everything we need or ever will need on planet earth.

Now why is that? God cannot lie. Everything He speaks comes to pass. If He ever went back on His Word, the whole universe would implode and self-destruct because it’s (the universe) held together by His Word. How awesome is that!

God and His Word are One and you can stake your reputation and life on it. His Word has a zero rate of failure and it’s our more sure Word of prophecy. Everything we want or need is provided for us in His Holy Word!

What a blessed people we are! Remember, the Word hasn’t lost any of its power or integrity. It’s the same today as it has always been.

Heb. 13:5 tells us that Jesus is the same today, yesterday, and forever. And since Jesus and the Word are One, that means healing, miracles, prosperity, and the gifts of the Holy Spirit are still valid today. Thank You Lord! We are blessed indeed!

1 Peter 1:23 (KJV) 23  Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

Psalm 119:89 (KJV)89 For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.

Psalm 138:2b (KJV)  … for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

Philippians 2:10 (KJV) 10  That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
Numbers 23:19a (KJV) 19  God is not a man, that he should lie;
Colossians 1:17 (KJV) 17  And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
Hebrews 1:3 (KJV) 3  Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
John 1:1 (KJV) 1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 Peter 1:19 (KJV) 19  We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
Hebrews 13:8 (KJV) 8  Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

Love is Love & Faith is Faith!

Love and faith are not the same, nor do they guarantee each other. What in the world so I mean by that? Let me explain.

Remember when you got born-again? What a wonderful time it was! You found out that the Lord loved you and you loved Him and what a honeymoon it was! But, then after a time, you came face to face with, “What do I do now?” Enter faith!

Many new Christians assumed that if you loved God, it meant you had faith. And then if you could quote some scriptures, surely that meant you had faith! Not necessarily so.

Loving God does not automatically mean you’re walking by faith in His Word. Faith in God comes by hearing God’s Word: studying, confessing, adhering to it, and actually walking and living your life by it.

There are so many Christians today who profess to have faith in God simply because they love Him. Yes, we all have faith (Rom.12:3) and faith works by love (Gal. 5:6) but much of it is undeveloped, meaning there’s no power in it because they haven’t taken the time to get into God’s Word and make it a vital part of their lives. Faith has to be developed on our part and it doesn’t happen overnight nor does it happen automatically.

Just because you go to a faith seminar or listen to faith teachings here and there, doesn’t automatically guarantee that you have developed faith, enough to move mountains. You have to grow in faith daily and this takes effort. But it’s so-o-o worth every minute!

How many of you have looked at someone who operated in strong faith and wanted what they had? Well, if the truth be told, they worked at it: studying, confessing, walking, and living by faith in God’s Word to the point that it “oozed” out of them. That’s when the power manifests!

We can all have strong faith but it takes effort and commitment. It’s sort of like a good marriage. It takes commitment, effort, and a lot of work! But, it’s worth it!

Faith isn’t hard; it’s simply believing what God said in His Word and then walking in it. Faith is our positive response to what God has already freely given by His grace. If we believe Him, our actions will be evidence of this.

God’s love for us never changes but our faith in Him will cause our love for Him to grow and abound.

A good indication of how much active faith you have is to ask yourself how much Word you have in you because you can’t believe beyond your knowledge of God’s Word.

Let’s all be active students of the Word of God and walk in victory. God’s Word has a zero rate of failure!

Romans 12:3 (KJV) 3  For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
Galatians 5:6
(KJV) 6  For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

Take Delivery of the Package!

Who doesn’t want a “good deal”? Just suggest a good bargain and you’ll have people’s attention. But there’s a package deal that’s available to those who will accept delivery but many don’t. They won’t sign for the package! They settle for half of the package and think they really got a bargain, which they actually did, but still missed out on all that they could have.

1 Peter 2:24 (KJV) 24  Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

This awesome verse tells us that Jesus took our sins on the Cross – paid the complete price so that we don’t have to pay it – and purchased our eternal redemption. And that’s the BEST thing that could ever happen to us. But, here’s more. At the same time He took paid for our sins, He took our sicknesses, diseases, and poverty so that we don’t have to be sick or poor anymore! It was a complete redemption.

So many Christians believe that scripture with their heads but just don’t know how to get it down into their spirits where it can be planted and spring forth in health and wholeness.

You see, God has so graciously provided – through Jesus – everything we’ll ever need, now and throughout all eternity. But, it’s not automatic. It doesn’t fall on us like ripe cherries off a tree. We have our part in causing the manifestation of every promise of God. It’s called faith!

Faith is the way we access every promise of God, Who has already done His part by making the promises available. Now we have to do our part and receive them by faith.

Healing has already been given. God has already provided it through Jesus. Our part is to simple receive what He’s already given – just like we did when we got saved.

Remember when you got saved? You didn’t have to clean up. You came to Jesus just as you were – a sinner in need of a Savior – and He accepted you. And so it is with healing. It’s a free gift – just like salvation – bought and paid for by the Lord Jesus Christ. It’s a done deal! Just receive it!

Isaiah 53:3-5 (KJV) 3  He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4  Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5  But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

3 John 1:2 (KJV) 2  Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

Luke 4:18 (KJV) 18  The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised …

Are You Sabotaging Your Own Prayers?

Sounds like the obvious answer is, “Of course not!” But really, how do you know? One of the ways is to look to your results. Are you getting answers to your prayers?

So, let’s be honest. Many people, and I’m only addressing Christians at this time, shoot up a prayer and hope it sticks! Well, this is not the way to get your desired results.

Let’s focus in on whether or not you’re the one sabotaging your own prayers. In Mark 11:23-24 Jesus tells us to speak, doubt not in our heart, believe that what we say will come to pass, and we’ll have what we say.

I want to zero in on two things that can sabotage or negate your prayers coming to pass. Jesus said you can have what you say but many people are “saying what they have” and getting nowhere. If all you do is speak the problem that’s all you’ll get. But worse than that, you’ll be establishing the problem, and that’s certainly not what you want!

The second thing is that once you’ve prayed the correct way by speaking what God’s Word says about your situation, then that’s all you should speak. Many people lose it right there when asked about the problem, they’re facing. That’s when all the negative confessions come out and it actually undoes their faith filled prayers.

So, speak the end result you want and stick with it. Don’t confess any negative words over your situation.

Speak, doubt not in your heart, believe what you say, and get your desired results.

Pamela

Reality or Smoking Mirrors?

Can you say that you’re better off today than a year ago? 5 years ago? If you aren’t better off, why is that?

Are you just going through the motions and hoping all will be okay? If you were accused of being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you? If you’re no better off than the unsaved, that ought not to be. Unfortunately, it’s true about many Christians that, from a glance, you couldn’t tell the difference between them and their unsaved neighbors. They’re just as sick, depressed, and in debt as those around them. What’s the problem?

First of all, it is definitely not the will of God to be poor, sick, depressed and a sorry mess. That’s the devil’s plans for all mankind. So, what has happened?

Let’s go back to the beginning when you first got saved. Things were so sweet and your love affair with the Lord was at its peak. But after the honeymoon, you came “back to earth” and the reality of life stared you in the face.

However, if you took your salvation seriously, you continued in God’s Word: studying, growing, and maturing in the things of God. Then when problems arose, you attacked them with the Word and stood your ground against the devil and his plans to rob your faith. Then when you looked back over the previous years you saw how you’ve grown.

However, if along the way, you let the problems of life overtake you and crowd out God’s way of doing things, you now find yourself no better off than the heathen except that you’re saved. And saved you are. Thank the Lord for that but what kind of testimony do you have that will cause people to want what you have? They already have nothing, can do nothing that works, and they’re depressed over it!

We need to be beacons of light, announcing to the world that God’s ways are a lot better than theirs. God’s plans for us are far better than we can think, know, or imagine and we are fully able to walk in them.

Yes, it takes effort to walk in God’s ways as does everything that’s worth doing and having. But we have supernatural help and that will put us over.

Let’s get back to God’s Word and follow His plans and walk in victory!

Revelation 2:4 (KJV) 4  Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
Romans 2:4 (KJV) 4  Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV) 15  Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Hebrews 12:1b (KJV)  … let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

Hung by the Tongue

Open mouth, insert foot! How many times have we done that and then prayed for a “do-over”?

Ecclesiastes 5:2 (KJV) 2  Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few.
Ecclesiastes 5:6 (KJV) 6  Suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin; neither say thou before the angel, that it was an error: wherefore should God be angry at thy voice, and destroy the work of thine hands?
Proverbs 10:19 (KJV) 19  In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.

Matthew 12:37 (KJV) 37  For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

Here we see that we are to be ever mindful of the words we speak because what we say is what we get and by our words we shall be justified or condemned.

You see, it’s not God’s will that bad things happen to us or that we fail to achieve our desired results. A lot of it is self-inflicted! We have spoken our own doom. Yes, what we say – in prayer and out of prayer in our daily lives – affects everything we do. We write our own ticket!

Now, for those who don’t subscribe to the “you can have what you say” message, let me tell you that it’s already happening for you. Those who say “nothing ever works out for me” are getting exactly what they’re saying. Granted, just because you say something one time, doesn’t mean it will happen instantly. It’s what you say with your mouth and believe in your heart over a period of time is what you’ll get. And remember that faith comes by hearing—whether good or bad. If you say negative things long enough, you’ll believe it in your heart and you’ll get it. BUT, it works on the positive side too. And that’s the good side!

Many times we see this occur more rapidly on the negative side than on the positive side. The reason for this is because some people are more developed in the negative than the positive – so negative things happen faster.

Getting back to the “foot in your mouth,” we need to diligently watch the words that come out of our mouths. Remember, as I’ve said in past blogs, our angels are listening intensely to what we say. If we speak in line with God’s Word, they have something to move on.

However, if we speak contrary to God’s Word, we bind our angels from helping us because they won’t go against what we say. They don’t make decisions about whether or not what we say is good or harmful. They listen and believe that what we say is what we want. If it agrees with God’s Word, then they have an assignment to see it come to pass. If it’s contrary to God’s Word, they don’t cause it to happen. Then just don’t stop it. They let us have what we say. We are the ones who control what happens to us – by our words.

A good rule of thumb is to never, never say what you don’t want to happen, particularly with your children. Don’t prophesy doom over them like: if you play in the street, you’ll get hit by a car or you never do the right thing, etc. Speak blessings over them and watch them grow!

Matthew 12:34 (KJV) 34  O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

What we have put in our hearts in abundance is what will come out – good or bad. If it’s God’s Word, it’ll come out with power and affect things around you for good. But, it must be in your heart in abundance. If fear is in your heart in abundance, that’s what will come out in your speech and negatively affect things around you.

Let’s purpose in our hearts to feed on God’s Word so we’re overflowing with it and ready to do great exploits for the Lord!

The Law of Faith

As you well know, there are many laws of the land that we are required to obey if we don’t want to pay the consequences. And most laws, if they’re made by godly legislators, are for the good of the people and we should obey them. However, many don’t obey and they pay the consequences.

Then there are laws that, after they’ve been in place for a set time, are discontinued ore superseded by higher law. We’ve seen that happen over the decades in the US. For example, the old law demanded that we stop at the red light and wait for the green light before proceeding. Then the law change so that we can now make a “right turn on red”.

It used to be that murder was wrong and a federal crime but the law changed and now the law allows the killing of unborn babies! How demonic and yet many rejoice at their right to kill their babies! This ought not to be but the devil is still doing all he can to thwart the plan of God in the earth.

However, there is a law that has not, cannot, and will not change for all eternity and that’s the Law of Faith. God is a faith God and everything He does is by faith and everything He does is forever! What a blessing to know that God’s faith is something we can stand on and rely on, no matter what the circumstances are.

There’s nobody on the face of this earth who can be all that we need for them to be. Our only hope is in the Living God and He is reliable and faithful to the uttermost!

Now, getting back to the law of faith, we know that natural laws are set and don’t change unless superseded by higher laws. For example, in the law of gravity we can drop something from a height and it will fall to the ground. Plus, the law of gravity is what keeps us on the ground instead of floating all over the place.

But, when higher laws come into play, like the laws of lift and thrust, an airplane can override gravity and fly upward. So it is with the law of faith. Faith can override things in the natural realm and cause miracles to happen: blind eyes open, deaf ears open, and even the raising of the dead!

But, the law of faith is not just for miracles. It is to be used in our everyday life. We are to walk by faith and not by sight [II Corinthians 5:7]. That means we are to order our lives according to God’s Word not according to the world’s ways. Our first course of action in whatever we do should be, “What does God’s Word say?” If we would do that, we’d save ourselves a lot of heartache.

God always has the answer to every problem we face in life and His Word always works. But, we have our part to do. God will not do our part and we cannot do His part but working together, we can get the job done to the glory of God!

Remember, faith is a law. It doesn’t change and will work every time we put it to work!

Hebrews 11:3 (KJV) 3  Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
2 Corinthians 5:7 (KJV) 7  (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
Romans 14:23b (KJV) 23 … for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

Storms of Life

Have you ever had a situation or circumstance in your life when it made you feel helpless and overwhelmed? I think we’ve all had similar situations arise. BUT, guess what? God hadn’t changed and He never will! Aren’t you so glad that God isn’t moved by circumstances?

You see, no matter what we are going through, God hasn’t changed! He is still the same – yesterday, today, and forever. However, we are the ones who view our present circumstances in light of our emotions. And that is not a good thing.

Nowhere in the Bible do you find that we are to govern ourselves by our emotions. We are to look to God and His Word – His promises – to determine what we shall do. He has the prefect map for us to follow and if we will follow it, we’ll have good success.

When challenging situations arise, go to the Word and find out what God has to say and then get on that Word and don’t quit ’til you get the desired results!

Too many times when people come up against a difficult situation, their first reaction is the same as the world’s reaction. And we know that their reactions are not founded on the Word of God.

Let me give you an example of what I’m talking about. If the weather report comes across your TV saying that in impending storm is on the way, what should you do?

The first thing I do is to confess God’s Word:

Isaiah 54:17 (KJV) 17  No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.
Psalm 91:10-11 (KJV) 10  There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11  For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

Of course, I confess these scriptures, in faith, daily but even more when danger is imminent. That way I can have peace during the storm and focus on what I’m to do, not what the weather is doing.

I know that this can seem simplistic but it really works. Let me remind you that whatever you do must be done in faith or it won’t work. Scared prayers don’t work. In fact, scared prayers actually open the door for the enemy to come in and really mess things up.

So, here’s the bottom line: don’t wait for the bad circumstances to come before you start confessing God’s Word. Get into the Word and build up your arsenal of Word power soa that when situations arise, that’s what will come out of your heart and mouth.

Hebrews 13:8 (KJV) 8  Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

Joshua 1:8 (KJV) 8  This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
Joshua 1:8b (AMP)  … you shall deal wisely and have good success.
