God wants to heal YOU!

So, what have we learned so far? First, we learned that it’s always God’s will to heal us, every time no matter what!

Then we learned that we have been given the authority and power to actually lay hands on the sick and see them recover.

We also learned that everything we get from God has to be through our faith and that faith is a law and operates according to the laws of God. Faith is the spark that ignites the power of God to cause the impossible to become possible.

Here are some of the ways faith operates regarding healing: we need to hear God’s Word concerning healing because faith comes by hearing God’s anointed Word.

We have to speak (confess) God’s Word concerning healing if we want it to work in our lives. That means we need to know what God has actually said in His Word!

Then we need act on the Word that we have heard and have spoken by continuing to stand on His Word and not be moved by circumstances.

And then, we have to reach out and receive the healing that God has promised in His Word.

If we skip any of these steps, we are in danger of not receiving our healing and none of us wants that!

It’s always God’s will to heal everyone every time!

Matthew 10:8 (KJV) ⁸  Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

John 14:12-14 (KJV) ¹²  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
¹³  And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
¹⁴  If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

Matthew 28:19-20 (KJV)
¹⁹  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
²⁰  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Here we see that Jesus has empowered us to do exactly what He did while on planet earth. We are His body on earth. He’s not performing any miracles here but He has empowered us to work on His behalf. Yes, it’s His power and it’s really the Holy Spirit Who is working through us but without out us He will do nothing. He has ordained that we be the vessels through which He will work. This is an awesome responsibility but we are well able to do it by His anointing and power.

As you see in John 14, Jesus tells that we are to do the same works tht He did while on earth. That means we can heal the sick and cast out demons and take our rightful authority on earth, all through Him. We are here to enforce satan’s defeat and be witnesses of God’s goodness to a sick and dying world. What is the Church at large doing to fulfill this command from the Head of the Church? Why aren’t we seeing the same miracles and healings that Jesus saw on earth?

Oh yes, there are those that have heeded the call and are seeing miracles, healings, and deliverance, but they’re few and far between compared to what should be. We need to get ourselves in gear and start doing the works of Jesus before it’s too late and people just implode because of the enemy’s onslaught of negativity.

Be bold and step out and be all that God has called you to be. Pray for the sick. Lay hands on them and see them recover. You aren’t the healer, Jesus is but He wants to use you to do the ministering.

Mark 16:17-18 (KJV)
¹⁷  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
¹⁸  They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

It’s always God’s will to heal everyone every time!

John 8:28 (KJV) ²⁸  Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.
John 5:19-20 (AMP)
¹⁹  So Jesus answered them by saying, I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, the Son is able to do nothing of Himself (of His own accord); but He is able to do only what He sees the Father doing, for whatever the Father does is what the Son does in the same way [in His turn].
²⁰  The Father dearly loves the Son and discloses to (shows) Him everything that He Himself does. And He will disclose to Him (let Him see) greater things yet than these, so that you may marvel and be full of wonder and astonishment.

Notice that Jesus ONLY did what He saw His Father do. And He ONLY spoke what He heard God speak. This is important to understand and know because it directly affects whether or not you believe it’s God’s will to heal everyone every time.

Jesus was (and is) he exact representation of God the Father. Therefore, if Jesus always healed everyone who came to Him for healing, you must agree that it’s God’s will to do the same. They don’t have two different wills. Either it’s the will of God, or it’s not. And it definitely is the will of God to heal everyone every time.

So, what about you? What do you really want to believe about the healing power of God? Do you want to believe that healing is for us today and that it’s God’s will for everyone to be healed – including you? Too many times people take the path of least resistance rather than stand their ground against the devil and his lies but it takes effort to stand your ground in faith.

Continuing with the woman with the issue of blood.

We’ve seen that she has spent all she had and wasn’t any better, then she heard of Jesus. Now what does she do.

Matthew 9:20-21 (KJV) ²⁰  And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment:
²¹  For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.

Now she speaks her faith. She says that if she can touch the hem of His garment she shall be whole. But she isn’t at that moment. She’s calling things that are not as though they were just like Abraham did. [Romans 4:17]

I believe she kept on saying that on her way to see Jesus. Remember, she’s not to be out in the crowd with an issue of blood and has to call out, “Unclean!” She’s risking all to get to Jesus.

So far, she’s heard about Jesus, she is speaking what she wants, and now she is pursuing

Mark 5:29-30 (KJV) ²⁹  And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.
³⁰  And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?

So, she gets to Jesus and touches the hem of His garment because she was probably crawling on the ground so she wouldn’t be noticed, but what does Jesus do? He turns and asks who it is that has touched Him.

Now, I ask you, since there was a crowd of people surrounding Jesus, don’t you think that many people were touching and bumping into Him? Peter even mentions that. But Jesus is insistent that someone has touched Him. What was so different about that touch? It was the touch of faith!

The woman spoke up and admitted that she was the one and listen to what Jesus said to her: 

Mark 5:34 (KJV)³⁴  And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

Jesus didn’t say it was His faith or power, even though it was His power, but that it was the woman’s faith that made her whole.

Now let’s back up and see what actually happened.  She reaches out and touches the hem of His garment and she is immediately made whole. What caused the power of God to flow through Jesus and heal the woman? What activated that power for her but not for the crowd that surrounded Jesus? It was her faith that activated the power and it flowed to her and healed her and she was made whole. The blood issue stopped and any damaged that it had caused was made right. Praise the Lord!

It’s always God’s will to heal everyone every time!

Now for one of my very favorite healing passages – the woman with the issue of blood. This passage has all the ingredients you’ll need to see how healing works and if you’ll do what she did, you too can receive your healing.

Mark 5:25-34 (KJV) ²⁵  And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,
²⁶  And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,
²⁷  When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.
²⁸  For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.
²⁹  And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.
³⁰  And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?
³¹  And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
³²  And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.
³³  But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.
³⁴  And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

Basically, this is what the woman did: she heard, she said, she pursued, and she received her healing. Let’s break it down.

First of all, she had suffered with the issue of blood for twelve years and had spent all she had on trying to get healed. The doctors couldn’t help her and she was left to fend for herself. But then she heard of Jesus!

Mark 5:27 (KJV)  ²⁷  When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.

Remember that faith comes by hearing the anointed Word of God. So what is it that she heard? Well, the scriptures don’t tell us but we can guess that it was something that caused her to have faith for healing. Probably she heard that others who were sick actually received their healing from Jesus. Maybe some of them were her friends. Nevertheless, what she heard was enough to cause her to want to check it out.

But wait. There was a glitch that she had to deal with. Under Jewish law, a person with an issue of blood couldn’t be out in public without calling out ahead that they were unclean. If they did otherwise, they could be stoned to death. But, was this a deterrent to her? No because she was determined. She really didn’t have any other viable options so she was willing to go for it. Perhaps she thought what have I got to lose?

Let’s continue looking at the some of the healings in Jesus’ ministry.

Luke 6:17-19 (KJV) ¹⁷  And he came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judaea and Jerusalem, and from the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases;
¹⁸  And they that were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed.
¹⁹  And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all.

I want you to notice that the multitude came to hear and to be healed. This is significant because as you know, faith in God comes by hearing the Word of God.

Romans 10:17 (KJV)
¹⁷  So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

So, I ask you, what is it that they heard that caused them to be able to receive their healing? It was the anointed Word that Jesus preached and taught. He told them that God wanted them to be healed and that it was His will for them and if they’d believe, and receive the Word, they would get their healing. That has to be what He taught because it lined up with everything else He did.

Acts 10:38 (KJV) ³⁸  How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
Luke 9:42 (KJV) ⁴²  And as he was yet a coming, the devil threw him down, and tare him. And Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the child, and delivered him again to his father.

Not only did Jesus heal people’s sickness and diseases, but He also delivered them from evil spirits. This is all part of God’s all-over plan for healing you and me. It’s not just piece by piece; it’s the whole kit and caboodle! It’s a whole package! Whatever ails you or me, is covered by Jesus’ redemptive sacrifice for us.

Jesus never turned anyone away when they came to Him for healing. He healed everyone! That in itself should alert us to the fact that it’s always God’s will to heal. Jesus always did and said what He saw and heard His Father say and do. Therefore, if it wasn’t God’s will to heal every time, we would have seen it in Jesus’ ministry.

It’s the traditions of men and the teachings of the Church over millennia that has turned healing into a hit or miss idea where you never know what God will do! This is simply not true.

Mark 7:13a (KJV) ¹³  Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition,

As I’ve said before, we always know what God sill do because He will always do what He has said in His Word if we’ll line up with it and use our faith to access His promises.

Let’s look at some scriptures where Jesus healed the people.

Matthew 8:16 (KJV) ¹⁶  When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick:
Matthew 12:15 (KJV) ¹⁵  But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;
Matthew 12:22 (KJV) ²²  Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.

Not only did Jesus heal individuals, but many times He healed the whole multitude! How can we say that healing wasn’t for everyone? We can’t if we’re honest. It’s always been God’s will for us to be healed and it’s still His will. We’re the ones who need mind renewal. And we’re going to get it!

2 Timothy 3:16 (KJV) ¹⁶  All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

God’s Word is divinely inspired, God-breathed. Therefore, we should take heed to what He has said and live our lives accordingly. We need to use Holy Spirit discernment to filter out the negative wiles, plans, thoughts, and ways of the enemy and live our lives in obedience to God’s Word. That’s the only way to live victoriously on planet earth.

There are so many scriptures that verify that it’s God’s will to heal every time. We need to study those scriptures and believe that God means what He has said. He is totally trustworthy and faithful!

You don’t have to know everything there is about healing to receive healing. You just have to believe it’s for you and then appropriate it to your situation. That’s what we’re going to learn in the following lessons.

Believing God and His Word is a choice and we have to constantly make those choices every day as we go through this life. We have an enemy out there who is waiting to steal, kill, and destroy us if we give him an opening. Keep the door shut and listen to the leading of the Holy Spirit and see your victory!

There’s a difference between a miracle of healing that happens instantly and a healing over a period of time, whether days or months, but they’re both supernatural. We’ll get into this later.

I like what one man of God said about healing: healing is repair work on an existing structure. That kind of healing differs from a miraculous healing that replaces a missing or broken part. But regardless which kind of healing it is, they’re all supernatural because God is involved.

Let me leave you with this scripture and we’ll pick it up next time.

1 Peter 2:24 (KJV) ²⁴  Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

I want you to notice that the forgiveness and remission of our sins occurred at the same time as the healing of our bodies from sickness and disease. Jesus paid for them both at the same time. That’s really hard to refute if you believe that God never lies and that His Word always works! Praise the Lord for His unspeakable Gift to us – the Lord Jesus!

Why do you think much of the Church has taught that healing is no longer for us today or that it’s not always God’s will to heal? I believe it’s because they don’t know how to get healing to manifest so they automatically blame God by saying that it’s not His will. That’s wrong. It’s the “no-fault religion” syndrome. We’re not to blame so it must be God. No, no, no!

Remember how I always say there’s a God-part and a man-part? Well, God has already done His part (which we’ll see shortly) and we now have our part to do if we want to get our desired results.

2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV) ¹⁵  Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

There’s a right way and a wrong way to discern the truth of God’s Word. Let’s get on the right road and find out what the truth is.

Before we get into why it’s God’s will to heal every time, let’s find out why we can actually believe what God has said in His Word. Let’s find out if He’s truly trustworthy and can be believed.

Psalm 119:89 (KJV) ⁸⁹ For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.

Psalm 89:34 (KJV) ³⁴  My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.

When God speaks, it’s forever recorded in the annals of Heaven and He will never go back on His Word because if He did, the whole universe would implode.

Hebrews 1:3 (KJV) ³  Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
Colossians 1:17 (AMP) ¹⁷  And He Himself existed before all things, and in Him all things consist (cohere, are held together).

Jesus doesn’t change. God doesn’t change and if He healed under the Old Covenant, then He still heals today under the New Covenant, which is far better than the Old Covenant because it’s based on better promises and sealed with the Blood of the Spotless Lamb of God, our Lord Jesus!

Hebrews 13:8 (KJV) ⁸  Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

So, you might ask, why am I teaching on healing? Glad you asked. Healing is a very big issue with me because it’s a big issue with God. He healed in the Old Testament and He hasn’t changed. He still heals today in spite of what people may think or say.

Acts 10:38 (KJV) ³⁸  How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

(Notice that sickness and disease is from the devil, not from God. Otherwise, Jesus would be fighting against God when He healed people!)

He’s the God Who created the heavens and the earth. Is healing too hard for Him? No, of course not. So why aren’t we seeing and hearing massive testimonies of healing? Because the Church is divided on it and not preaching and teaching what the scriptures teach about healing.

Some say healing passed away when the early church apostles died but that’s not true. Some say that they believe God can heal but it’s all up to Him who gets it and who doesn’t. Not true. Then there are those who believe that God can do anything but you never know what He’ll do. Not true. You always know what God will do because He will always do what He has said in His Word and He cannot lie.

Numbers 23:19 (KJV) ¹⁹  God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

Brothers and sisters, we have been so programmed by the world’s way of thinking that’s it’s a wonder we ever get our prayers answered! I want to change that and that’s why I’m doing this series on healing.

The first thing we must do is to have mind renewal to what God has said in His Word. That way we can de-program ourselves and expose the deception that has been perpetrated against us regarding healing. And sadly, most of it has come from the Church’s wrong teaching!

Romans 12:2 (KJV) ²  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Ephesians 4:23 (KJV) ²³  And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
