Another Look at Spirit, Soul, and Body

In past blogs, I’ve talked about Spirit, Soul, and Body but I want to continue on that topic because there’s so much to know and understand if we’re going to walk in the victory that God has for us.

First of all, let’s review some foundational truths. You are a spirit; that’s the real you. Your spirit is the part of you that came alive to God when you got born-again. You are a new creation, a new species of being that never existed before! That’s how you communicate with God — spirit to Spirit because God is a spirit and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV) ¹⁷ Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

John 4:24 (KJV) ²⁴ God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Next, you have a soul, which is not the same as your spirit. Your soul is your mind, will, emotions, and includes your character, personality, and conscience. More about that later.

The third part of you is your body which houses your spirit and your soul. Your body is governed by your five physical senses and that’s not how you’re to be led. You’re to be led by the Holy Spirit in you. So to recap: you are a spirit, you have a soul, and you live in a body – three parts in one, made in the image of God.

When you got born-again, it’s your spirit that changed not your soul or your body. Now your part is to renew or re-educate your soul (your mind) to think the way God thinks, according to His Word. When you do that by getting into God’s Word and getting His Word into you, then your spirit and soul agree with each other and your physical body goes along with it. But if you don’t renew your mind, then your mind will still think the way it thought before you got saved, and that’s not going to agree with your re-born spirit. The result will be conflict.

Your soul (mind) chooses to agree with your re-born spirit or your body, depending on how much your soul is renewed with the Word of God. And you always want your soul to agree with your spirit, not your sense-ruled body.

Ephesians 4:23 (KJV) ²³ And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
Romans 12:2(KJV) ² And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Since the last three blogs had to do with the words we speak, I want to go a step further and show you one of the most important things you’ll ever learn about spirit, soul, and body. And here it is:

Your re-born spirit’s job is to do what you speak – to do what you have said with the words of your mouth! When you speak words, whether they’re positive or negative, your spirit endeavors to cause those words to come to pass because your spirit, the real you, thinks that what you say is what you want to happen. This is a big “ouchie” if you’ve been saying negative words! That’s why it’s imperative that you only speak words that line up with God’s Word and his way of thinking and doing. If you get hold of this, it will not only change what you say, but it will actually change your circumstances.

Psalm 19:14 (KJV) ¹⁴ Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

Think about where you are today in your life: spiritually, mentally, physically, emotionally, financially, etc. Now think of the words you’ve been confessing regarding those areas – words that you’ve spoken over the years to get where you are today. If you’re honest, this will be an eye-opener! As I’ve said before, simply listen to yourself as you go about your daily life and you’ll see what I mean.

Let me give you some examples: some people say that when spring comes, they always get allergies or their allergies are killing them! How long have they been saying this? Probably for years and look at the harvest they’ve reaped!

Or here’s another one: we can’t afford this or that we never have enough money. How ‘bout this one for seniors: I’m getting old or I’m having a senior moment! I would never let those words come out of my mouth and I’m a “seasoned” citizen and enjoying every minute of it and will ‘til the rapture!

Too many times, and probably most of the time, people say things that, if they thought about it, really don’t want those things to come to pass in their lives. The problem is that we’ve been so programmed by the world’s way of talking and thinking that we fell right into the trap of the devil, who is the god of this world and doing his very best to influence everyone he can with his evil thoughts and ways. Don’t be one of his pawns!

The GOOD NEWS, brothers and sisters, is that we can put a stop to all that by putting God’s Word in our hearts and renewing our minds with His Word. Then when we speak, we’ll be speaking faith-filled words that will change our lives and future. Go for it!

Do the Words We Speak Really Matter? Part III

Continuing along the line of why the words we speak are so important, let’s begin:

1 – Confession of God’s Word affects your future.

This in itself should cause you to perk right up and listen. It’s so true that our actions follow the words we speak. We almost never do anything without first voicing it- whether to ourselves or to others. And yes, we all talk to ourselves! I like to say that I’m my best listener!

Proverbs 14:3b (KJV) ³ … but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.

Isaiah 46:10 (KJV) ¹⁰ Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:
Romans 4:17b (KJV) ¹⁷ … even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.
Matthew 12:34b (KJV) ³⁴ … for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

As you can see, the words we speak go forth as seeds, looking to produce a harvest. That’s why it’s imperative that we only speak things that we want to manifest in our lives or in the lives of our loved ones. That means we should only speak faith-filled words over our loved ones – and includes us!

The words you speak are projected into your future because your words are containers that contain what’s in your heart. If faith is in your heart, then words [containers] of faith go forth. But if there’s negativity in your heart, those word containers go forth and the results are not pretty.

If you’ve been guilty of saying the wrong words, simply command a crop failure to them and that they come to nought!

Remember, words not spoken die unborn. So don’t let negative thoughts become words that you speak.

Proverbs 18:21 (KJV) ²¹ Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

As I’ve said before, listen to yourself as you go through your day as to what actually comes out of your mouth! Rebuke all negativity and speak God’s Words and watch your circumstances change.

2 – And lastly, but not the least of which are the angels of God who listen to your words and act accordingly.

Psalm 91:11 (KJV) ¹¹ For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

Psalm 103:20 (KJV) ²⁰ Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word. [That means the words that we speak.]
Exodus 23:20-21 (KJV) ²⁰ Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared.
²¹ Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name is in him.

Hebrews 1:14 (KJV) ¹⁴ Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

Hebrews 2:1-3 (KJV) ¹ Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
² For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;
³ How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him; [Salvation here means preservation, healing, soundness, wholeness, and deliverance from temporary evils.]

Here we see that the angels of God are sent to help us and that they listen to the words that we speak. That’s one of the ways they get their orders. If we speak God’s Word, then they move to cause those words to come to pass. But if we speak negative, devil-words, they stand by and do nothing. They don’t decide whether or not you really mean what you say when you utter fear-based, non-productive words. They just let those words open the door for the devil to move right in and cause them to come to pass.

An example would be when you confess that “nothing ever works out for me” or “that’s killing me” or “that breaks my heart” or “that blows me away.” These are negative words that open the door for the enemy to move in and destroy you. That’s why we’re told to guard what we put in our hearts. As they say, garbage in, garbage out; God’s Word in, God’s word out!

Proverbs 4:23 (KJV) ²³ Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

So, dear brothers and sisters, I hope I’ve given you some things to think about in these three blogs concerning the words you speak. May you listen attentively to what you say, purpose in your heart to say what God says, and reap His benefits so you can be a blessing to others!

Do the Words We Speak Really Matter? Part II

Continuing along the line I started in Part I, let me reiterate that the words we speak will either minister life or minister death. This is the law of sowing and reaping and it’s a law in the earth. That’s why it’s imperative that you speak words that are in line with God’s Word and not the world’s words which are actually the devil’s words.

Galatians 6:7 (KJV)
⁷ Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

1 – Speaking or confessing God’s Word keeps it in the forefront of your thinking and helps in renewing your mind to His Word and keeps the solution in front of you. If His Word is ever before you, that’s what you’ll think on. But if you let the problems of this life and its distractions blur your vision and cloud your thinking, that’s what you’ll get. Remember, God’s Word has to be priority in your life if you want to walk in God’s best!

Romans 12:2 (KJV) ² And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
James 1:21 (KJV) ²¹ Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. [your mind]
Ephesians 4:23 (KJV) ²³ And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

When we get saved, we then have job of renewing our minds (our souls) to God’s Word so that we speak what He speaks instead of what the devil speaks. We do this by getting into God’s Word and studying and studying and studying and hearing and hearing and hearing. We’ll never get to a place on planet earth where we’ll have too much Word in us! And just for the record, there are layers and layers of revelation in God’s Word and I believe it will take all eternity for God to reveal it to us. How awesome is that!

2 – Confession of God’s Word releases faith to activate the power of God.

Once you know what God has said and you are on the “renewal road” of lining up with God’s Word, you have to learn how to release His Word that’s in you to cause the manifestation to come forth. This is how you do it:

Just as you sow the seed of God’s Word into you, so it is with watering the seed – you speak it, say it, confess it. Then when you’ve done this over a period of time and your mind is getting renewed to the “new way of thinking,” you simply speak forth the Word that’s in you and BOOM, it comes out with power – the dunamis power of God! Why? Because it’s been in you marinating and developing and getting stronger with all the watering and confessing, and then when you speak, your faith activates it and it comes alive with power! Wow – this is super great!

3 – Faith-filled confession of God’s Word propels the Word out into the physical realm and keeps working until the manifestation comes.

Matthew 24:35 (KJV) ³⁵ Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

I’m so glad God’s Word is forever and ever and will never pass away. We can count on it throughout all eternity.

The faith-filled words you speak, those based on God’s Word, never disintegrate, evaporate, or dissolve. They stay out there working night and day to cause the manifestation to come as long as you stay in faith. That’s why we must never give up and quit because in one hour things can change!

Think of the times you got an answer and thought, “What if I had quit just hours before the manifestation!” You see, when you pray in faith, the Holy Spirit will direct your spirit to lead you to the solution, causing your words to come to pass. Now that’s awesome!

Do the Words We Speak Really Matter? Part I

There’s an expression that says you are what you eat. And yes that’s true, but an even more important expression is that you are what your words say you are, you have what your words say you have, and you can do what your words say you can do. In other words, what you say with your words determines how your life goes.

Because God’s Word tells us that we’ll reap what we sow, did you know that when you speak, you’re actually “sowing seeds” for your future? Wow – think about that and then think about the words that come out of your mouth on a daily basis! Do you really want those words to come to pass in your life? Probably not if you haven’t yet learned to guard your mouth.

Galatians 6:7 (KJV) ⁷ Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
Galatians 6:7a (Phillips NT) ⁷ Don’t be under any illusion: you cannot make a fool of God! A man’s harvest in life will depend entirely on what he sows.
Galatians 6:7 (AMP) ⁷ Do not be deceived and deluded and misled; God will not allow Himself to be sneered at (scorned, disdained, or mocked by mere pretensions or professions, or by His precepts being set aside.) [He inevitably deludes himself who attempts to delude God.] For whatever a man sows, that and that only is what he will reap.

Since what we speak is so important to our lives, how much more is it necessary to speak God’s Words daily instead of all the unbelief that’s continually inundating us – the news, social media, our family, our friends, etc.

When we speak God’s Word, we call it confessing the Word because we’re saying what God says and that can only be good. So, let’s look at some of the reasons why it’s of the utmost importance to confess God’s Word over our lives instead of the devil’s words of unbelief.

1 – Confessing God’s Word is the voice of our faith and it’s the same thing that God would say!

That in itself is awesome – to actually say the same thing that Almighty God would say! But that’s not all. When you say what God says, you get what God would get! Now that’s something to shout about! Of course, we’re talking about speaking His Word in faith which comes by hearing and hearing, and hearing His Word.

Romans 10:17 (KJV) ¹⁷ So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Matthew 12:34b (KJV) ³⁴ … for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
Matthew 12:37 (KJV) ³⁷ For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

You see, what’s in your heart in abundance is what will come out of your mouth especially in a time of crisis. And that’s when you want God’s Word coming out, not the negativity of the world. Purpose in your heart to listen to what comes out of your mouth daily and then maybe practice the vocabulary of silence for a while ‘til you can trust your mouth to speak correctly. Anything contrary to God’s Word is really a curse and you don’t want to be constantly cursing yourself, your family, your job, etc.

This is so good that if I stopped right here, you could meditate on this for days. But let me give you one more reason to speak God’s Word instead of the negative words of the enemy.

2 – Confessing God’s Word continually, gets it down into your heart where it can get rooted and developed, and then when it’s rooted and developed, it will come out of your mouth with power and produce what it was sent to do! Double wow!

Isaiah 55:11 (KJV) ¹¹ So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
Jeremiah 1:12 (KJV) ¹² Then said the LORD unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.
Jeremiah 1:12 (AMP) ¹² Then said the Lord to me, You have seen well, for I am alert and active, watching over My word to perform it.

God is watching over His Word to cause it to come to pass in the lives of those who will speak it forth in faith. Don’t ever let death or fear-filled words come out of your mouth: that’s killing me, thought I’d die, broke my heart, blew me away, etc. I think you can come up with many more.

Be a “Word-talking” child of God and watch what God will do in your life!

Understanding All Parables

[This blog is a bit longer than usual but I thought it was too important to break up into two blogs – enjoy!]

Mark 4:2-20 (KJV) Read all.

Mark 4:2-3 (KJV) ² And he taught them many things by parables, and said unto them in his doctrine,
³ Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow:

Mark 4:14 (KJV) ¹⁴ The sower soweth the word.

Mark 4:11-13 (KJV) ¹¹ And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:
¹² That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.
¹³ And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?

Jesus taught many lessons using parables because His teachings for were for those who believed, not for the heathen. It was as if His teachings were in “God code” and not for everyone. Oh, sure, He could have explained thing in detail so that the simplest mind could understand without any effort. But as I’ve always said, with God everything is a heart issue. Everything we get from God is by the access door of faith.

Hebrews 11:6 (KJV) ⁶ But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

From my observation over the years, it seems that many people want the blessing God has but they don’t want Him and His way of getting them. It just doesn’t work that way.

It’s like your children wanting the blessings of their grandparents, who overindulge them, but don’t want their discipline! Now, that’s something that touches home!

So, let’s get into the parable of the sower and find out why Jesus said that you have to understand this parable if you’re going to understand the rest of them. [Please read the entire passage of Mark 4:2-20.]

Let’s start with verse 14 where we find the sower sowing the seed, which is the Word of God. The sower is anyone who is sowing the seed of God’s Word, even you. And the soil is the ground of your heart.

Mark 4:15 (KJV) ¹⁵ And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.
Matthew 13:19 (KJV) ¹⁹ When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.

The seed is sown into the first type of soil which is hard wayside soil that everyone has walked or driven on and it’s hard as a rock, thus giving the seed no chance of germinating.

This type of heart is the one that hears the Word of God and receives it but doesn’t understand it and it never does germinate. In this type the devil comes immediately and steals the Word from you. Matthew points this out in his narrative of the sower sows the Word. The Word was sown and the person heard it but with no understanding, it got stolen immediately.

The second type of soil is found in Mark 4:16 is stony ground.

Mark 4:16-17 (KJV) ¹⁶ And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness;
¹⁷ And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word’s sake, immediately they are offended.

Notice that the Word was received with gladness. They were so excited to hear the truth of God’s Word and received it, but what happened? They stood strong for a while but didn’t continue to “water the Word” so that roots would grow. [You water the word with the Word. Just keep putting it into your heart and it will grow.]

They didn’t water the Word so that when afflictions and persecutions came against them, they caved in and became offended. You see, when you’re taking a stand on God’s Word and other people begin to mock you or say that it won’t work, this is persecution for the Word’s sake and it will cause you to take offense. That’s bad! And here’s why:

The word offense is a Greek Word the means a trap—like a trap that’s set to catch an animal. That’s what the devil is doing when he sets you up to be offended. He’s setting a trap for you and hoping you take the bait. His whole plan is to get you “off the Word” and back to carnality – in the flesh where you’re ruled by your five physical senses instead of God’s Word. If he can get you into unforgiveness, strife, and holding a grudge, he’s got you.

So, what do you do? First of all, don’t succumb to the enemy’s wiles of deceit and offense. Forgive those who have come against you and the Word and move on from there. Guard the Word and your heart with everything you have, otherwise you forfeit your faith.

Mark 4:18-19 (KJV) ¹⁸ And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,
¹⁹ And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.

This third type of heart refers to those who actually hear the Word and most likely receive it joyfully but as time goes on, life gets in the way and distracts them from what God has said and they lose heart and get discouraged.

Distractions can be deadly in keeping the Word active in your heart: being too busy to spend time in the Word or prayer, being caught up in your daily routine or job or relaxing – TV, sports, hobbies, or even being overly concerned about things you can’t control! These can end up taking too much of your focus away from God’s Word that His Word gets displaced with the wrong things. [Check out my blog on “The Displacement Principle.”]

Luke 21:34 (KJV) ³⁴ And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.

Notice the word – surfeiting. It means clutter. We can get cluttered with so many things that we lose our focus on God’s Word and things start going south. I even have an index card on my kitchen table that says “Don’t be distracted!” I have to constantly remind myself not to let distractions steal my focus.

The word choke in Mark 4:19 means to strangle completely, suffocate. That’s the plan of the enemy – to keep you so distracted the Word can’t get sufficiently rooted in you and produce fruit.

Which brings us to the last type of soil – the good ground that actually produces fruit – thirty, sixty, and a hundredfold.

Mark 4:20 (KJV) ²⁰ And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.

These people hear the Word, receive it, keep watering it, and eventually bring forth fruit. And to the degree they get the Word rooted in their hearts determines the result of their harvest. This principle works in every area of your life.

Be a fruit-producing vessel for God and show forth His goodness! Praise the Lord of Glory!

Mark 4:19 (AMP) ¹⁹ Then the cares and anxieties of the world and distractions of the age, and the pleasure and delight and false glamour and deceitfulness of riches, and the craving and passionate desire for other things creep in and choke and suffocate the Word, and it becomes fruitless.
Luke 21:34 (AMP) ³⁴ But take heed to yourselves and be on your guard, lest your hearts be overburdened and depressed (weighed down) with the giddiness and headache and nausea of self-indulgence, drunkenness, and worldly worries and cares pertaining to [the business of] this life, and [lest] that day come upon you suddenly like a trap or a noose;

More Golden Nuggets to Think About – Part V

1 – God’s wisdom is hidden for us, not from us. Jesus is our wisdom and we have the mind of Christ. That really covers it all.

1 Corinthians 2:7 (KJV) ⁷ But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
1 Corinthians 1:30 (KJV) ³⁰ But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

2 – God hears the prayers of the righteous. What a blessing to know that Almighty God really hears our prayers! That should give you confidence to pray and expect answers, when you pray in faith according to His Word. Praise the Lord of glory!

1 Peter 3:12a (KJV) ¹² For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers:
2 Chronicles 16:9a (KJV) ⁹ For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.

1 John 5:14-15 (KJV) ¹⁴ And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
¹⁵ And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

3 – Strong desire to have something from God is NOT faith. Faith is believing what God’s Word says and then acting on it. As we respond to what He has already given us by His grace, that’s when we’re walking by faith and not by sight. Your five physical senses want to “see it first” and then believe. But God says that we are to “believe first” and then we’ll see our desired results. This is totally opposite of the world’s way of thinking. That’s why it’s utterly important that we renew our minds to what God has to say in His Word if we want to walk in the blessings that He has for us.

Ephesians 4:23 (KJV) ²³ And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
Romans 12:2 (KJV) ² And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

4 – If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything.

This is so true in the natural realm but even more important in the spiritual realm. God’s truth in your heart should be the priority in all you do and you should never, never, never back down from your position, no matter what others say. If you only believe God’s Word when it’s convenient, you don’t really believe it. And that, dear brothers and sisters, it why many Christians don’t get answers to their prayers.

Wavering is unbelief and unbelief doesn’t get prayers answered.

James 1:6-8 (KJV) ⁶ But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
⁷ For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
⁸ A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Hebrews 3:12 (KJV) ¹² Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
Hebrews 3:19 (KJV) ¹⁹ So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
Hebrews 4:11 (KJV) ¹¹ Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

The Israelites couldn’t enter into the Promised because of their unbelief. And so it is with us. We can’t enter into the promises of god by way of unbelief. We must get rid of the unbelief and stand whole-heartedly on God’s Word.

5 – Here’s the antidote to Murphy’s Law: Whatever can go right will go right at the most opportune time. Pray this daily and watch the results. As it gets into your heart, your spirit will look for ways to get you to the right place at the right time for things to work in your favor.

How to Be Successful in Every Area of Your Life – Part II

In Part I we discussed the fact that God’s Kingdom operates by laws – His laws. Therefore, since laws by nature work every time according to the rules, we can know that God’s laws work every time we operate them according to faith.

Let’s discuss some of the laws:

1 – The Royal Law of Love

James 2:8 (KJV) ⁸ If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:

Romans 13:10 (KJV) ¹⁰ Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

John 3:16 (KJV) ¹⁶ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 8:37 (KJV) ³⁷ Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

1 John 4:16 (KJV) ¹⁶ And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

From these scriptures, we see that God is love. He doesn’t just have love, He actually is love. His DNA is love! That’s awesome! His love is everlasting, forever and ever. We can’t do anything to make God love us more because God’s love for us isn’t performance based. And our disobedience doesn’t make Him love us less. Disobedience diminishes our love for Him. Bad idea!

Check out I Corinthians 13:4-8 in the Amplified translation. It shows us how to operate in the love of God that’s in us as born-again believers.

Romans 5:5 (KJV) ⁵ And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

The love of God flowing out from you will make your life so much simpler and you won’t be aggravated with stress, anxiety, torture, and torment. It seems that God’s love softens everything around us and people will like you better and you’ll like yourself better!

2 – The Law of Faith

Romans 3:27 (KJV) ²⁷ Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.

Wow—this is great one because it’s so comforting that faith is a law and it works every time. Too many times before our minds were renewed by God’s Word, it seemed to be a question about whether or not “faith” would work. But once you see that it’s a law, you can have confidence that it will do exactly what the Lord said it would do.

Every promise of God and everything from God to us is received by faith because He’s a faith God and therefore, as sons of God, we are to walk by faith and not by sight. We are to be led by His Spirit and not by our five physical senses. It’s not that we ignore our senses but they are not to lead us. The Holy Spirit is the One Who is to lead us but we’ve been so inundated by the world’s way of thinking that we have to on purpose stop and ask, “What does God’s Word say about our situation?” Then we have to actually do what the Word says.

2 Corinthians 5:7 (KJV) ⁷ (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
Hebrews 11:1 (AMP) ¹ NOW FAITH is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].

Faith is the key to unlocking the promises of God; it’s the access code! And very simply, the definition of faith is believing what God said in His Word and then acting on it! Or, as Andrew Wommack says: faith is our positive response to what God has already freely given by His grace.

Romans 12:3b (KJV) ³ … according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
Hebrews 11:6 (KJV) ⁶ But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Romans 10:17 (KJV) ¹⁷ So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

That means that you have to get into God’s Word and get God’s Word into you!

Let’s be more than conquerors and walk by faith and not by sight!

How to Be Successful in Every Area of Your Life – Part I

Really – who doesn’t want to be successful and victorious in every area of life? Every normal person wants to succeed. It’s in our DNA. So, let’s delve into this topic and see what God has to say.

Let me start by asking a simple question: why does gravity work? I’m not talking about the science behind it just simply why it works. It works because gravity is a law and laws work every time. If you drop a rock out of the second story of your house, it will fall to the ground, not rise upward to the roof. Why? Because gravity is a law and it works every time, whether or not you believe it.

It’s the same with electricity. It’s a law and it works every time whether or not you believe it. I think I’ve made my point about gravity and electricity but the main thing I want you to see is that these natural laws work every time, regardless of what you believe or don’t believe about them. That’s how God ordained them to work. In fact, electricity was here on earth at the time of Adam and Eve but of no use to them because they didn’t know how to harness it, nor did they know the laws that governed it.

And, so it is with spiritual laws. They’re just as real as physical, natural laws, but not as obvious because you can’t see them in the natural realm. What you see are the results they produce.

Having said all that, let’s discuss God’s spiritual laws for victory and success. Laws, scientifically and spiritually speaking, work every time. That’s why they’re called laws. You can depend on them to work exactly as they should. This is an important concept to grasp because if it weren’t so, then you would never know if gravity or electricity would always work for you.

Having established that, let’s move on to spiritual laws. All of God’s Word and promises are spiritual and therefore, fall under the topic of spiritual law. We can also conclude that if they, the promises of God, are laws, then we can depend on them to work every time. Wow, that’s huge, but true nonetheless! Praise the Lord of Glory for His unspeakable Word to us!

Let’s look at some of the laws that God has established in the earth. I’ll just give an introduction and then take it up in another blog, otherwise, this blog will go on and on and on, not finding a good place to end.

Here are some laws in God’s Word:

1 – The Law of Love – called the Royal Law

Galatians 6:7 (KJV) ⁷ Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

5 – The Law of Spiritual Authority

Matthew 28:18-19 (KJV) ¹⁸ And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
¹⁹ Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

The Word power here is exousia which means authority.

6 – The Law of Dominion

Genesis 1:26 (KJV) ²⁶ And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

These are a few of the laws God has given us. They all work together and overlap at times. We’ll discuss them in more depth in subsequent blogs.

Some [More] Golden Nuggets to Think About – Part IV

1 – God is always right; He’s never wrong. Just as God’s Word has to be the final authority, the bottom line, the benchmark for all you do, so is the fact that God is always right. Therefore, no matter what the circumstances are telling you, it’s never God Who is at fault. He’s already provided, in His Word, the answer and solution for everything you’ll ever encounter in this life on planet earth. This has to be your mind set or else you’ll be heavily tempted to blame God when things don’t go the way you think they should.

Much too often, in fact most of the time, Christians are so ready to blame God when they don’t get the results they’re seeking. And it amazes me that they don’t even consider that they could be the problem or that the devil is somehow involved. Wrong thinking will keep you in a state of frustration, unbelief, and always wondering why God didn’t’ answer your prayers.

2 Corinthians 1:20 (KJV) ²⁰ For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

Numbers 23:19 (KJV) ¹⁹ God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

2 – Another nugget that goes along with #1 is that when we pray in faith according to God’s Word, He always does His part. Now it’s time for us to do our part. Remember, there’s a God-part and a man-part. Too many Christians ignore this and expect God to do their part. It doesn’t work that way. Most of God’s promises are conditional upon us doing our part. Even in salvation, we have our part to do by actually reaching out and accepting what God has already freely provided through the Lord Jesus. We can’t do God’s part and He won’t do our part!

Hebrews 11:6 (KJV) ⁶ But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

3 – If you wait until you’re faced with a crisis to use your faith, it won’t be strong enough to get your desired results. You must start with little things first and proceed from there.

For example, you won’t be able to believe for healing from cancer if you’ve never believed God for healing of a headache, a cold, or minor aches and pains. Yes, it’s always God’s will to heal but you have to access that healing with your faith. And some would rather “pop” a pill than to study God’s Word on healing.

Faith has to be developed by putting the Word in your heart and acting on it. Mountain-moving faith is available to everyone who will put forth the effort of getting God’s Word in their heart.

Many Christians only have a cursory knowledge of God’s Word and when they have a problem, they shoot a pray and hope it sticks. Then when they don’t get the results they want, they lose heart and blame God. Actually, I think many don’t even expect to get their desired results because they’re living a defeated life of unanswered prayer.

Romans 12:3b (KJV) ³ … but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
Romans 10:17 (KJV) ¹⁷ So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Mark 11:22-24 (KJV) ²² And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
²³ For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
²⁴ Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

4 – You can’t microwave maturity nor can you leap frog over the steps to maturity. There are steps to spiritual maturity just like there are steps to physical maturity. Babies don’t start out walking on day one. They have to develop: crawling, walking, running. So it is with spiritual development – first the blade, then the ear, then the full corn in the ear. You have to be able to jump two feet before you can jump ten feet!

Mark 4:28 (KJV) ²⁸ For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.

5 – If you don’t start somewhere, you’ll never get anywhere! This is a good one because many Christians think they’re faith giants when they’ve never learned the basics. Just start where you are. There’s no shame in that. In fact, it’s humility to acknowledge that you don’t know everything! And here’s a news flash: you’re never going to know everything! Learning God’s Word is a life-long adventure. Enjoy the journey!

Desire the sincere milk of the Word of God (the basics) so that you can grow and get to a place where you can eat meat, and eventually strong meat!

1 Peter 2:2 (KJV) ² As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
Hebrews 5:13-14 (KJV) ¹³ For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
¹⁴ But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Some [More] Golden Nuggets to Think About – Part III

1 – God doesn’t have any grandchildren! Everyone is responsible for their own salvation. They have to believe in their heart and confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and Savior in their lives in order to be born again. We can’t do it for them, It’s their free will choice to make that decision, but we can bind and rebuke the blinders off of them, pray for their hearts to hear and understand God’s Word, and pray laborers across their path to tell them about Jesus.

John 6:44 (KJV)
⁴⁴ No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

2 – Either God’s Word is true and works or it’s not and doesn’t. If it’s not true and doesn‘t work, we of all people are to be pitied. But, praise the Lord of Glory – His Word is true and works every time we speak it in faith believing! Oh, how comforting it is to have the Word of God to depend on; our very lives depend on it! God’s Word is incorruptible seed. Plant it in the soil of your heart and it will produce!

1 Peter 1:23 (KJV) ²³ Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

3 – The amount of faith you have is directly proportional to the amount of Word that’s in your heart. You can’t have faith for the things of God outside of His Word. Faith begins where the will of God is known. Before you pray, find God’s will – His promise – in the Bible and stand on that. God always honors His Word that’s prayed in faith.

2 Chronicles 16:9a (KJV) ⁹ For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.

Isaiah 55:10-11 (KJV) ¹⁰ For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
¹¹ So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

4 – God knows the end from the beginning. Nothing surprises Him. If you want to know something, ask Him. He’ll either tell you or say it’s none of your business. Sometimes we’re too nosey about other people’s business.

Isaiah 46:10 (KJV) ¹⁰ Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

5 – Our words determine our future. Our lives today are a product of the words we’ve been speaking over the years. Most people don’t like to hear that because it puts the responsibility back on them. They are without excuse and can’t lay the blame for the mess in their lives on someone else. But the point is that we can actually determine what we want by our words. The ball is in our court. Keep a guard on your mouth ‘til you can trust what comes out! What comes out of your mouth, goes into your heart. Speak what you want, not what you have or other negative words.

Proverbs 18:21 (KJV) ²¹ Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
Matthew 12:37 (KJV) ³⁷ For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

We serve an awesome God Who loves us beyond measure and has designed the best life ever for us – a life of success and victory. Our part is to line up with His Plan and see it come to fruition. Praise the Lord of Glory – our Lord Jesus!
