What’s Really Protecting You?

Today I want to take a look at two scriptures:

Psalm 91:4 (KJV) 4  He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

John 8:31-32 (KJV) 31  Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
32  And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

What is a shield and what is a buckler? Basically, they’re equipment that surrounds and protects you.  A shield can be held in front of you and a buckler, which is a type of shield, surrounds you. I’d say that’s quite some protection!

But what is it that’s actually protecting you in all this garb?  The TRUTH! And what is truth – it’s God’s Word. It’s His Word that does the protecting because God and His Word are One. If you have His Word, you have His protection. But faith is involved. Read on.

Notice in Ps. 91 that it’s the Truth that is your shield and buckler. God’s Word is your shield – your protection.

Then we see in John 8 that it’s not just the truth alone but it’s continuing in God’s Word. Then the Truth that you get from God’s Word and walk in, is what protects you. And as I always say, everything works by faith. You can’t have faith beyond your knowledge of His Word because that’s where Bible faith is.

Romans 10:17 (KJV) 17  So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

So, what does this all boil down to? Simply this: You must get into God’s Word and learn of Him. Then you have to walk in His Word because faith without works is dead. That means continuing in His Word – in the good times and in the hard times. Then, and only then, will the truth that you know and walk in make your free. And that, dear brothers, and sisters, is peace!

James 2:20 (KJV) 20  But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
James 2:26 (KJV) 26  For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Inoculations are not Just for Medicinal Purposes!

Even if we have a vaccine for Covid 19 and other deadly diseases, what about other things where therapeutics and vaccines don’t work? What about natural disasters, mass shootings, terrorist attacks, etc? We need the protection of Almighty God all the time but it only comes through faith. We need to inoculate ourselves with the Word of God.

Many people don’t think they need God’s help because they have the medical profession and scientists to help them but we all know that they don’t have all the answers and can be caught off-guard as we have seen during this current crisis of Covid 19. And as long as people can live without the power of God in their lives, they will. It’s really all up to us.

As I have been saying all along, the promises of God are always yes and He has already provided everything we’ll ever need to be successful, protected, prosperous, and totally victorious on planet earth. However, as you know God’s promises are not automatic. They just don’t fall on us like ripe cherries off a tree.

Heb. 11:6 tells us that without faith it’s impossible to please God. Everything we receive from God must be received by faith because God is a faith God and we are created in His image. He has already done His part and now we have our part to do. And that, dear folks, is where the problem lies.

If you wait ’til there’s a crisis to get your faith going in the right direction, you’ve waited too long. Any crisis will expose what you really believe. If you’re all talk and no substance, you’ll fall apart like a two-dollar suitcase. But if your faith is built on God’s Word, you’ll be like the man who built his house on the rock. When the storms of life came against him and everyone else, his house was still standing when the dust settled!

Brothers and sisters, just shooting up a prayer in desperation and hoping it sticks doesn’t work or get results. Fear and anxiety don’t work either. Scared prayers don’t work. Faith is what works because that’s how we access the power of God.

God did not cause this current crisis but it certainly is a wake-up call to show people where they really are. The devil is behind the whole crisis but as we read in Gen. 50:20, what the devil meant for evil, God can turn around for good. Let’s expect a Holy Ghost revival of God’s Word to come forth from this crisis.

We have to buckle down and get serious about following Jesus and commit to God and His Word as never before. There is a plethora of good sound Biblical teaching available for free so there’s no excuse for remaining ignorant of God’s Word. [Websites listed below.]

Gen. 1:26 and Luke 10:19 show us that God gave man the dominion mandate. We are to take our rightful place of authority and take dominion over the evil works of the enemy and be the victorious people of God we’re called to be.

Genesis 1:26 (KJV) 26  And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Luke 10:19 (KJV) 19  Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Matthew 7:24-27 (KJV) 24  Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25  And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26  And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27  And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

Psalm 8:6 (KJV) 6  Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:
2 Corinthians 1:20 (KJV) 20  For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

Genesis 50:20 (KJV) 20  But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.

Isaiah 54:17 (KJV) 17  No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.
Psalm 91 (KJV)

When You’re Drowning is not the Time to Learn to Swim!

When you’re drowning, you need to be rescued not have someone offer to give you swimming lessons! We all know that but let’s apply it to the spiritual side of our lives.

When you’re having a problem, that’s not the time to try developing your faith. If you’re not already there, you need help from others who are strong in faith to help you out. And as I say often, just shooting up a prayer and hoping it sticks just won’t cut it. Neither will fearful and scared prayers work. Begging God won’t work either because that just indicates unbelief and God doesn’t respond to unbelief. Unbelief negates your faith and gives you no results.

So, what’s the answer to this situation? Glad you asked.

As you know, faith is what pleases God and without it you can’t please Him or get your prayers answered. Too many times, people want God’s help but they don’t want Him! That’s appalling! You can’t have one without the other. If you want God on your side, you have to want Him.

Your relationship with God depends on your being born-again and accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior. But your fellowship with God is how your get along with Him and that, dear friends, involves getting into His Word and fellowshipping with Him that way. God and His word are ONE! If you love God, you have to love His Word. If you don’t love His Word, I question if you really love Him because they are One and the way you get to know Him is through His Word.

1 John 5:14-15 (KJV) 14  And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
15  And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

Notice that when you ask according to God’s Word, He hears you and you get the petitions you’ve requested. However, you can’t pray according to His Word if you don’t know it or don’t believe it! I think that is perfectly clear but most Christians miss it because they think they can pray any ol’ way and God will answer! Not so!

Brothers and sisters, God is not our problem. We are our own problem. We have to get serious about the things of the Lord and His Word and prepare ourselves for these times. We can’t get caught off-guard when the world is teetering on the verge of total shut-down because of the evil the devil that has been perpetrated against us. We, as born-again, spirit-filled, Bible-believing Christians should be leading the victory parade and demonstrating to the world that our God reigns. But, sadly, many if not most, Christians are in the same boat as the unbelievers. How can we tell others to trust in the Living God if we’re not doing that ourselves and getting results?

We need to walk in the supernatural as naturally as we walk in the natural realm because we are spirit beings in a flesh body. God never intended for us to walk as mere human beings, excluding the supernatural. How else can we demonstrate to the world that our God lives?

John 14:12-14 (KJV) 12  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
13  And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14  If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

Jesus told us that we would do the same works that He did.

Matthew 10:8 (KJV) 8  Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

As you can see, we are to heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, and cast out devils. How often do you see this happening? I rest my case!

The devil is going to continue doing his dirty work ’til Jesus comes back but that’s not really the problem. God has given us all the weapons we need to defeat him in our lives but we are the ones who have to do it. We can’t ask God to do it because He has already given us the dominion mandate to subdue the devil.

Genesis 1:26 (KJV) 26  And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

You see, the ball is in our park. We are the ones with dominion but we have to rise up and use our God-given authority, submit to God, resist the devil, and he will absolutely flee – run in terror!

I know many “believing” Christians have taken authority over the Covid-19 virus and commanded it to wither and die at the roots. But, what if ALL the Christians were truly believing and took authority over it, what would the result be? I know it doesn’t take a multitude of pray-ers to accomplish the task but I also know that unbelief can hinder the results. Even Jesus couldn’t do many miracles in certain towns, even His own town, because of their unbelief!

Mark 6:5-6 (KJV) 5  And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.
6  And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching.

Let’s use our time wisely and purpose in our hearts to get serious about learning God’s Word and putting it into practice. Then we can truly be an asset and not a liability. Let’s show the world that our God reigns and that Jesus is Lord!

Hebrews 11:6 (KJV) 6  But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Mark 11:22-24 (KJV) 22  And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
23  For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24  Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV) 15  Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

James 4:7 (KJV) 7  Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
1 Peter 5:8-9 (KJV) 8  Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
9  Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

Is There Something Better than Divine Healing?

I ask you, “What’s better than divine healing?” Divine health! The reason is that in order to receive divine healing, you have to have first been sick or infirm in some way. However, to “not get sick” is far better!

Too many times, in fact, most of the time, we’re playing “catch up” with the devil and his evil ways. Just look at the plethora of hospitals, clinics, emergi-care facilities, etc. that have sprung up all over the USA. Why? Because so many people are sick! And many of them are Christians! This is not a good testimony.

So what do we do? Good question. And as always, God has already provided the answer before we ever had the problem.

The redemptive plan of God through Jesus was two-fold – remission of sins forever and always, and healing for our bodies forever and always. But, as you know, everything from God has to be received by faith. No promise of God is automatic.

We need to take our “gos-pills” every day. Ps. 91 isn’t just for times of crisis. It’s to be ingrained in us to ward off every attack of the enemy, namely sickness and disease in this case.

Isa 54:17 is another good scripture to incorporate into your stand of faith because it’s not only important what you say, but what you hear others say. Don’t get in agreement with negative reports or fake news. Take you faith stand against the “words” of the enemy. Stand your ground on God’s Word in faith.

Prov. 4:20-23 .Vs 22 says the Word of God is health to all your flesh which means medicine to all your flesh.

Deut. 28 – We’re redeemed to the blessing and blessing of God and redeemed from the curses of the Law.

And of course, Mark 11:23-24.

We need to confess God’s Word until we get it into our spirit where we truly believe it with all our being. However, this doesn’t negate the need for good nutrition and all the other physical things we can do to get and stay healthy. We still have a flesh body that we are responsible to take care of but not to the exclusion of the spiritual side. We are first and foremost, spirit beings in a flesh body and we have a soul – our mind, will, and emotions.

Brothers and sisters, God has already provided for us to be in good health but to be able to get healed if need be. But, it’s now up to us to get into His Word and fortify ourselves by developing our faith, be the victorious people He’s called us to be, and be a blessing to those around us!

Hebrews 11:6 (KJV) 6  But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Romans 12:2-3 (KJV) 2  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
3  For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

Proverbs 4:20-23 (KJV) 20  My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
21  Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
22  For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
23  Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

3 John 1:2 (KJV) 2  Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
Galatians 3:13 (KJV)
13  Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
Isaiah 54:17 (KJV) 17  No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.
1 Peter 2:24 (KJV) 24  Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
Matthew 8:17 (KJV) 17  That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.
Isaiah 53:4-5 (KJV) 4  Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5  But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

What You Compromise to Get, You’ll Lose!

Compromise – what is it and isn’t this the way to get along with everyone? No, it isn’t and I’ll explain why.

As the title of this blog says,” Whatever you compromise to get, you’ll lose” isn’t referring to the ‘get-along-gang.” It’s dealing with core beliefs. Many people have compromised their beliefs to climb the ladder of success only to find out when they got there, it wasn’t worth the price they paid. Even in recent times we’ve seen this splattered all over the news. Some have paid a very high price and actually lived to regret it!

But, what about us – the born-again, Bible-believing, spirit-filled Christians who are to be the light of the world – the salt of the earth? What about us?

Compromise is compromise – no matter who’s doing it. I’m not talking about acquiescing to others or preferring others. That’s good. I’m speaking of compromising your core beliefs – compromising what you stand for in order to be accepted by others. This is unacceptable and displeasing to God.

In Rev. 2:6,15 God says twice that He hates the deeds of the Nicolaitans who compromised their beliefs in Him. They left their first love!

Revelation 2:6,15 (KJV)
6  But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.
15  So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate.

So, how does this happen? How does someone, who has a bonafide relationship with the Lord, fall into compromise and leave their first love? By changing their focus! Instead of going to God when things get tough or don’t work out the way they want, they take their focus off of God and go the way of the world.

Some even blame God for not answering their prayers and then turn away from Him as if it’s His fault! However, what they fail to realize is that God is faithful, faithful, faithful. The problem is never with Him because He has already supplied the answer. The problem is with us. Of course, there is the devil to deal with but God has already given us power and authority over him. But we must take our rightful place, submit to God, resist the devil, and he will flee.

What you focus on is what you will follow. If your focus is on getting promoted on your job at any cost, you’ll compromise. If fitting in with the “in crowd” is your focus, you’ll compromise. But it won’t be worth it because you’ll find yourself sorely lacking when you go to seeking the Lord’s help and find your prayers bouncing off the ceiling and hitting you smack in the face because your fellowship with the Him is broken and your heart condemns you! It’s just not worth it!

Brothers and sisters, we need to wholeheartedly commit to following Jesus, no matter what it costs us because in the end, it’ll be worth it and we’ll have no regrets!

Matthew 5:13-14 (KJV) 13  Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
14  Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

Matthew 5:13-16 (KJV)
13  Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
14  Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15  Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

James 4:7 (KJV) 7  Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
1 Peter 5:8 (KJV) 8  Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Are You Ready When a Crisis Hits?

Here we are in 2020 and in the middle of a global pandemic of Covid-19, otherwise known as Coronavirus. This crisis has spread throughout the known world and has virtually effected every nation. So what do we do? Glad you asked because I have a few things to say about this.

A crisis by definition is a turning point in any given situation – whether for good or for bad. So, let’s approach this current crisis from both angles.

Yes, the pandemic is alarming and causing a lot of fear among people everywhere. That’s one side for the crisis. The other side is that people are coming to grips with what they really believe. Do they believe what the naysayers and fake news is saying, and even, the stock market, or are they turning to God and His word in this time? If not, then this is a wake-up call!

Sadly, many who purport to believe God and His Word are in just as much panic and fear as the unbelievers. Why is that? Because, when push comes to shove, we find out what we really believe in our hearts. Shooting up a prayer of desperation in a time of need and hoping it sticks is not faith!

If you wait ’til the last minute to get prepared, you’ll always be playing “catch-up” with the devil because ultimately, he is behind everything evil. A crisis is no the time to “try” to believe or develop your faith. Faith for healing, as with all of God’s promises, only comes one way – by God’s Word [Romans 10:17]. If you wait ’til there’s a crisis in your life to develop your faith, you’ve waited too long!

Okay, having said all that, what can a person do who has not prepared and developed their faith for protection and deliverance from the effects of the crisis? Good question.

First of all, admit where you are, spiritually. There’s no sense in pretending that you’re stronger in faith than you are. You know where you are. Next, hook up with those who are strong in faith and believe God’s Word. It will encourage you and help you stand your ground against the enemy.

Then, my dear brothers and sisters, get into God’s Word and develop your faith so that you know what you really believe. This doesn’t happen overnight but it does happen. Just stick with it and persevere. God’s word is your answer for everything you need in this life. And just for the record, there are over 7000 promises for you in God’s Word! That ought to be enough to cover everything that you could ever need! Yay and praise the Lord of Glory!

Isaiah 54:17 (KJV) 17  No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.
Hebrews 13:5b (KJV) 5  … for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
Hebrews 13:8 (KJV) 8  Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
Romans 10:17 (KJV) 17  So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

James 1:17 (KJV) 17  Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

The Most Important Things in Life are not Tangible!

Wow – just when you thought your new car was the do-all, end-all! Or your new house, boat, ATV, etc. But no – they aren’t the do-all, end-all of what really counts. Yes, they’re nice and enjoyable, but there’s more to life then material things.

Before continuing, let me say that I’m not against material possessions. I like my stuff but I realize that’s not where my peace is. Peace comes from your relationship with God – having made Jesus your Lord and Savior.

And that’s where love comes from. Love isn’t something you can actually touch; it’s a heart issued and nothing really compares to it. Yes, you can see the effects of love but you can’t actually see love or touch it. It’s a God-given entity and oh so wonderful! We need to bask in it and know that beyond a shadow of a doubt, God has our backs! Where else can you get that? Certainly not from the world – not even your brothers and sisters in Christ because they’re human and not always there for you. But God is! His ears are open to the prayers of the righteous.

God is love and we are His offspring, joint-heirs with Jesus! We need to walk in love as Jesus did.

Jesus gave us His peace – the world didn’t give it and the world can’t take it away if we don’t relinquish it.

And then there’s the fruit of your re-born spirit, where else can you get these except from the Lord?

Galatians 5:22-23 (KJV) 22  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23  Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

So, you see, our most important assets are intangible but far superior to anything we can get in the world!

John 9:31b (KJV) 31  … but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.
James 5:16b (KJV) 16  … The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
1 Peter 3:12 (KJV) 12  For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.
Romans 15:13 (KJV) 13  Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

John 14:27 (KJV) 27  Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Romans 8:17 (KJV) 17  And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

Is Your Flesh Ruling You?

As I have talked about in other blogs, we are three-part beings: spirit, soul, and body. Your spirit is the real you – the part that got born-again. Your soul is your mind, will, and emotions, including your intellect and reasoning – your conscience. Your body is obvious. It’s your earth suit that houses your spirit and soul. It’s your flesh and that’s how you contact the physical world around you, with your five senses.

1 Thessalonians 5:23 (KJV) 23  And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Having said all that, I want to look at the body – also called the flesh or the carnal part of us – what we need to in order to function in the earth. However, the problem arises if that’s all you live by because there are two realms – the physical realm which you see all around you and the spirit realm which, for the most part, is invisible to us. It’s very real but we don’t contact it with our five physical senses or our soul – our intellect. We contact the spirit realm with our re-born spirit. That’s the realm where God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and the angels operate.

I said all that to say this: if all you’ll ever believe is what you can see, hear, smell, taste, and touch or reason with your mind, then you seriously limit God in how much He can work in your life. God is a Spirt and we must contact Him spirit to Spirit.

John 4:24 (KJV) 24  God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Now, I realize science and the medical field have come up with some tremendous discoveries and many people put their trust in that. However, what do you do when they don’t have answers to your problem? What do you do when a hurricane or tornado approaches and you feel completely vulnerable with nowhere to turn? God’s Word has the answers!

Brothers and sisters, that’s why I write these blogs – to inspire, empower, and encourage you to put your trust in God and His Word. He has never failed us and never will. There are no faith failures – just people who failed.

But, there is a catch. We have our part to do. God has already done His part. We have to get into His word and learn His ways so we can fulfill the plans He has for us and live a victorious that’s worth living!

Are You Led or Do You Just Go?

Romans 8:14 (KJV) 14  For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
1 Corinthians 8:2 (KJV) 2  And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know.

How many times have you done something only to realize that you missed the Lord? And then the thought comes to you, “I had a feeling I shouldn’t do that!” And why is that?

You see, the Holy Spirit was prompting you to do the right thing or not to do the wrong thing but you just overrode it and proceeded with your own way. Learn from that!

God loves us so much that He has provided a way for us to always stay on track but it’s not automatic. We have our part to do.

Let’s go back to the beginning. We are made in the image of God and as you know, God is a Spirit [John 4:24]. Therefore, we can conclude that we too are spirits. Yes, the real us is a spirit! Paul calls if our inner man.

Ephesians 3:16 (KJV) 16  That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;

1 Thessalonians 5:23 (KJV) 23  And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

So what about our soul and body? Good question. We have a soul, which is our intellect – mind, our will, and our emotions. And it also includes our personality and character.

Then there’s our body, which is called our earth suit, and includes our five physical senses by which we contact our surroundings.

So, let’s summarize: we are a spirit, we have a soul, and we live in a body. With our spirit, we contact God; with our soul, we contact our intellectual, reasoning side, and with our bodies, we contact the physical side of things.

Having said all that, leads me to how we are to be led by the Spirit of God: by your spirit – the real you. You see, faith is the only way we can please God and faith is not of the mind or body, it’s a heart issue – from your spirit. Therefore, it behooves us to learn how to hear form God – spirit to Spirit.

There are three basic ways we are led:

1 – The inward witness: this is the way we most often are led. It’s that “knowing” on the inside of you – in your spirit – which way to go or not to go. Remember, we are to be led by peace and that peace is in our re-born spirit. Do you have a peace about what you are inquiring about or endeavoring to do? Or do you have check—a scratchiness – in your spirit as if something just doesn’t set right with you? That’s the inner witness.

2 – Then there’s the voice of your spirit when you get a word about what you’re to do or not to do. That comes from the inside of you – from your spirit. This is your conscience.

3 – And then there’s the voice of the Holy Spirit, which is more authoritative but still comes from inside you because that’s where the Holy Spirit resides – in your re-born spirit. Sometimes it will even seem like an audible voice speaking to you but no one else will hear it but you.

I want to note that your body has a voice – your feelings. They are not the way to be led. Feelings are to be the caboose, not the engine. When you follow the Holy Spirit’s leading, your feelings will eventually line up and fly right, but they are not to lead you!

Having said all that, which is really short and to the point because this is blog and not a whole book, the main way the Lord leads us is by the inward witness – that still, small voice that gives us a thumbs up or thumbs down about what we about to do. We need to hone this skill by practicing hearing on the inside so that we can trust what we think we are hearing. I know that’s a mouthful but so very important, if you want to be led by the Lord. It’s not about doing “our thing” but doing the Lord’s things!

And – just how do we do that? By getting into God’s Word and getting to know His ways and how He does things. Then when you hear something, you can check it against His Word. Everything must agree with God’s Word because His Word must be the benchmark for all that we do. The only way we can do that is to know His Word. Yes, it takes effort but you will avoid a lot of pain, aggravation, and backtracking by doing things right the first time!

Too many times people are looking for the spectacular and miss the supernatural! Anything to do with God and His ways is the supernatural even though it might not be spectacular or sensational. And actually, since our true self is a spirit, we should be at home operating in the supernatural!

Sad to say, in my observation of Christians, I have found that most people don’t really know God’s Word. Sure, they know some scriptures, but if it comes to life or death, how much do they know that would change the situation? And as if that wasn’t bad enough, they don’t even want to know His Word. They don’t let the Bible get in the way of what they believe! So sad! This is not the way to live a life worth living on planet earth!

Brothers and sisters, we need, more than ever before, to be led by God’s Spirit. If things are going to change in this world for the better, we are the ones who are going to do it. It certainly won’t be the devil and his gang!

John 4:24 (KJV) 24  God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV) 5  Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Jeremiah 10:23 (KJV) 23  O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.
John 16:13 (KJV) 13  Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
Hebrews 4:12 (KJV) 12  For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Hebrews 4:12 (AMP) 12  For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.
1 Kings 19:11-12 (KJV) 11  And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake:
12  And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.

Hebrews 11:6 (KJV) 6  But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Isaiah 55:12 (KJV) 12  For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
Philippians 4:6-7 (KJV) 6  Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7  And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

The Devastating Effects of Unbelief – a Faith Killer!

Hebrews 4:1-2 (KJV) 1  Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
2  For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

The Israelites refused to be persuaded and it kept them out of the Promised Land.

Unbelief – what is it and how do you know if it’s operating in your life?

First of all, let’s define what unbelief is as it pertains to God and His Word. Unbelief can simply be ignorance, meaning you just don’t know something. This is remedied by instruction and good teaching.

Unbelief can also be caused by wrong teaching, where you believe something that is contrary to God’s Word. This too can be remedied by good teaching and by countering the wrong teaching with God’s Word.

Another kind of unbelief is where you let your five physical senses or experience determine what you believe regardless of what God’s Word says. This kind of unbelief is remedied by prayer and fasting to take back control of your five physical senses and let your spirit man dominate. You also need good sound teaching of God’s Word.

So, what’s my point and why should anyone care if they have some unbelief operating in their lives? Because, even a little unbelief can keep you from partaking of the promises of God. And, unbelief means that you’re unpersuaded in believing God’s Word. If this is so, how on earth can you ever operate in the things of God and see His miraculous hand in your life?

My observation of many Christians is that they are steeped in unbelief, and seemingly baptized in it! But worse than that is that they are content to stay that way. When confronted with the truth, they argue their right to believe the wrong way. Go figure!

And here’s the problem: if you don’t have love of the truth, you set yourself up to believe the lies of the devil and he is all too willing to accommodate you. How can you believe for the healing of your body if you think that it’s not always God’s will to heal and you never know what God will do?

We always know what God will do because we have His Word and He always does what He has said in His Word. Now that should be very comforting to you.

If Christians knew and believed God’s Word, they would be able to pray the Word and inoculate themselves against sickness and disease, particularly the coronavirus that has made headlines worldwide in recent months.

Too many times I have witnessed Christians turning to the medical field for answers to their physical problems rather than seeking God and His way for healing and health. The problem with this is that the medical field doesn’t always have the answers as we have seen with the onslaught of the coronavirus. But God always has the answer. Our part is to get into His Word before we have a problem and do things His way because His way always works.

It really saddens me to see people suffering – especially Christians – and yet they are so indoctrinated against God’s divine healing. This needs to change.

I’m going to give you some scriptures to stand on and get into your spirit so that when a problem arises, you will have your arsenal ready. And the best way to ward off sickness and disease is to stay in good health!

Meditate on the following scriptures until you truly believe them. This is God’s incorruptible Word.

Isaiah 53:5 (KJV) 5  But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
3 John 1:2 (KJV) 2  Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
Psalm 1:3 (KJV) 3  And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
Mark 11:23-24 (KJV) 23  For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24  Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Psalm 91:10-12 (KJV) 10  There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11  For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
12  They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

Psalm 91:5-7 (KJV) 5  Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6  Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7  A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
