Are You Led or Do You Just Go?

Romans 8:14 (KJV) 14  For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
1 Corinthians 8:2 (KJV) 2  And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know.

How many times have you done something only to realize that you missed the Lord? And then the thought comes to you, “I had a feeling I shouldn’t do that!” And why is that?

You see, the Holy Spirit was prompting you to do the right thing or not to do the wrong thing but you just overrode it and proceeded with your own way. Learn from that!

God loves us so much that He has provided a way for us to always stay on track but it’s not automatic. We have our part to do.

Let’s go back to the beginning. We are made in the image of God and as you know, God is a Spirit [John 4:24]. Therefore, we can conclude that we too are spirits. Yes, the real us is a spirit! Paul calls if our inner man.

Ephesians 3:16 (KJV) 16  That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;

1 Thessalonians 5:23 (KJV) 23  And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

So what about our soul and body? Good question. We have a soul, which is our intellect – mind, our will, and our emotions. And it also includes our personality and character.

Then there’s our body, which is called our earth suit, and includes our five physical senses by which we contact our surroundings.

So, let’s summarize: we are a spirit, we have a soul, and we live in a body. With our spirit, we contact God; with our soul, we contact our intellectual, reasoning side, and with our bodies, we contact the physical side of things.

Having said all that, leads me to how we are to be led by the Spirit of God: by your spirit – the real you. You see, faith is the only way we can please God and faith is not of the mind or body, it’s a heart issue – from your spirit. Therefore, it behooves us to learn how to hear form God – spirit to Spirit.

There are three basic ways we are led:

1 – The inward witness: this is the way we most often are led. It’s that “knowing” on the inside of you – in your spirit – which way to go or not to go. Remember, we are to be led by peace and that peace is in our re-born spirit. Do you have a peace about what you are inquiring about or endeavoring to do? Or do you have check—a scratchiness – in your spirit as if something just doesn’t set right with you? That’s the inner witness.

2 – Then there’s the voice of your spirit when you get a word about what you’re to do or not to do. That comes from the inside of you – from your spirit. This is your conscience.

3 – And then there’s the voice of the Holy Spirit, which is more authoritative but still comes from inside you because that’s where the Holy Spirit resides – in your re-born spirit. Sometimes it will even seem like an audible voice speaking to you but no one else will hear it but you.

I want to note that your body has a voice – your feelings. They are not the way to be led. Feelings are to be the caboose, not the engine. When you follow the Holy Spirit’s leading, your feelings will eventually line up and fly right, but they are not to lead you!

Having said all that, which is really short and to the point because this is blog and not a whole book, the main way the Lord leads us is by the inward witness – that still, small voice that gives us a thumbs up or thumbs down about what we about to do. We need to hone this skill by practicing hearing on the inside so that we can trust what we think we are hearing. I know that’s a mouthful but so very important, if you want to be led by the Lord. It’s not about doing “our thing” but doing the Lord’s things!

And – just how do we do that? By getting into God’s Word and getting to know His ways and how He does things. Then when you hear something, you can check it against His Word. Everything must agree with God’s Word because His Word must be the benchmark for all that we do. The only way we can do that is to know His Word. Yes, it takes effort but you will avoid a lot of pain, aggravation, and backtracking by doing things right the first time!

Too many times people are looking for the spectacular and miss the supernatural! Anything to do with God and His ways is the supernatural even though it might not be spectacular or sensational. And actually, since our true self is a spirit, we should be at home operating in the supernatural!

Sad to say, in my observation of Christians, I have found that most people don’t really know God’s Word. Sure, they know some scriptures, but if it comes to life or death, how much do they know that would change the situation? And as if that wasn’t bad enough, they don’t even want to know His Word. They don’t let the Bible get in the way of what they believe! So sad! This is not the way to live a life worth living on planet earth!

Brothers and sisters, we need, more than ever before, to be led by God’s Spirit. If things are going to change in this world for the better, we are the ones who are going to do it. It certainly won’t be the devil and his gang!

John 4:24 (KJV) 24  God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV) 5  Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Jeremiah 10:23 (KJV) 23  O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.
John 16:13 (KJV) 13  Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
Hebrews 4:12 (KJV) 12  For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Hebrews 4:12 (AMP) 12  For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.
1 Kings 19:11-12 (KJV) 11  And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake:
12  And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.

Hebrews 11:6 (KJV) 6  But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Isaiah 55:12 (KJV) 12  For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
Philippians 4:6-7 (KJV) 6  Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7  And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

The Devastating Effects of Unbelief – a Faith Killer!

Hebrews 4:1-2 (KJV) 1  Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
2  For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

The Israelites refused to be persuaded and it kept them out of the Promised Land.

Unbelief – what is it and how do you know if it’s operating in your life?

First of all, let’s define what unbelief is as it pertains to God and His Word. Unbelief can simply be ignorance, meaning you just don’t know something. This is remedied by instruction and good teaching.

Unbelief can also be caused by wrong teaching, where you believe something that is contrary to God’s Word. This too can be remedied by good teaching and by countering the wrong teaching with God’s Word.

Another kind of unbelief is where you let your five physical senses or experience determine what you believe regardless of what God’s Word says. This kind of unbelief is remedied by prayer and fasting to take back control of your five physical senses and let your spirit man dominate. You also need good sound teaching of God’s Word.

So, what’s my point and why should anyone care if they have some unbelief operating in their lives? Because, even a little unbelief can keep you from partaking of the promises of God. And, unbelief means that you’re unpersuaded in believing God’s Word. If this is so, how on earth can you ever operate in the things of God and see His miraculous hand in your life?

My observation of many Christians is that they are steeped in unbelief, and seemingly baptized in it! But worse than that is that they are content to stay that way. When confronted with the truth, they argue their right to believe the wrong way. Go figure!

And here’s the problem: if you don’t have love of the truth, you set yourself up to believe the lies of the devil and he is all too willing to accommodate you. How can you believe for the healing of your body if you think that it’s not always God’s will to heal and you never know what God will do?

We always know what God will do because we have His Word and He always does what He has said in His Word. Now that should be very comforting to you.

If Christians knew and believed God’s Word, they would be able to pray the Word and inoculate themselves against sickness and disease, particularly the coronavirus that has made headlines worldwide in recent months.

Too many times I have witnessed Christians turning to the medical field for answers to their physical problems rather than seeking God and His way for healing and health. The problem with this is that the medical field doesn’t always have the answers as we have seen with the onslaught of the coronavirus. But God always has the answer. Our part is to get into His Word before we have a problem and do things His way because His way always works.

It really saddens me to see people suffering – especially Christians – and yet they are so indoctrinated against God’s divine healing. This needs to change.

I’m going to give you some scriptures to stand on and get into your spirit so that when a problem arises, you will have your arsenal ready. And the best way to ward off sickness and disease is to stay in good health!

Meditate on the following scriptures until you truly believe them. This is God’s incorruptible Word.

Isaiah 54:17 (KJV) 17  No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.
1 Peter 2:24 (KJV) 24  Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
Matthew 8:17 (KJV) 17  That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.
Isaiah 53:5 (KJV) 5  But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
3 John 1:2 (KJV) 2  Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
Psalm 1:3 (KJV) 3  And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
Mark 11:23-24 (KJV) 23  For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24  Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Psalm 91:10-12 (KJV) 10  There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11  For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
12  They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

Psalm 91:5-7 (KJV) 5  Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6  Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7  A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

Temporary of Eternal?

2 Corinthians 4:18 (KJV) 18  While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Everything in this life is either temporary or eternal. That means that at any one time we can be looking at the temporary things or the eternal things. It’s our choice. But just knowing that should give you hope.

Most of our problems are temporary and therefore can be changed by the Word of God. But even though this is true, our focus should be on the eternal things of God. That way we don’t get hung up on the nitty gritty of every day annoying issues.

Let’s define temporary things. They’re things that you can access with your five physical senses: see, hear, smell, taste, or touch. If those things fit this category, they can be changed! Wow! That should be good news to everyone! If it’s a sickness problem, that can be changed. If it’s a financial problem, that can be changed. No matter what the problem is, it can be changed with the Word of God.

However, the question now arises as to how we are to change those things that are temporary. And of course, you already know what I’m about to say – by the Word of God. That’s why it’s so important to know God’s Word because there are different ways of praying about situations.

Prayer is not “one size fits all.” There are different kinds of prayer and if you mix them up, they won’t give you the desired results you’re looking for.

Brothers and sisters, it’s time for us to get serious about the things of God and dig in and go all out for God. Time is short and there’s a lot of work to be done for the kingdom of God and we’re the ones who will have to do it.

These are exciting times, especially in the USA. We’re on the brink of a major presidential election and things are getting hot. But God isn’t moved. He sees the end from the beginning and He is well able to direct our steps.

Remember, there’s a whole world out there that needs Jesus and those of us who have committed our lives to Him are the ones who need to reach the unsaved.
Isaiah 46:10 (KJV) 10  Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV) 5  Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

2 Corinthians 5:7 (KJV) 7  (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)

All that Glitters is not Gold!

How true that is! And things aren’t always what they seem to be! How often have we seen that!

So, dear friends, what are we to do so that we don’t get duped and deceived at every turn? Glad you asked.

As you know, God is a faith God and in order for us to please Him, we too must be faith people. Everything with God is a heart issue. So, let’s take a look at things from that perspective.

1 Samuel 16:7b (KJV)  … for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.

This verse refers to the time that Samuel went to anoint the next king, who would turn out to be David. But, looking on the outward appearance of Jesse’s sons, David would have been the last choice, if any choice at all. However, God isn’t moved by outward appearances but rather by what’s in our heart. And David had a heart after God. That’s what counted in God’s eyes.

Now, I’ve said all that to say that if God looks at the heart, then we need to look at the heart. If you judge everything by your feelings – and what appears to be so – you’ll remain in a state of instability. But if you look at your heart – what is it telling you – then you can hear from God and make right decisions.

Your heart is your inner man, as I have mentioned many times in other blogs. It’s your re-born spirit that is in tune with God and His Word. But the catch is that you have to have the Word in you in order to draw it out when you need it.

God’s Word has to be the benchmark from which you measure everything in this life. It’s your measuring rod for all that you do. No matter what it seems like, you have to ask yourself, “Does it agree with God’s Word?” Too many times, people choose to do something and then ask God to bless it. That’s the wrong order. We must check out what God has already said in His Word and then make our decisions based on that.

I think I’m safe in saying that we all want to make right choices and have had our fill of wrong ones. I know I have. Time is short and we have a lot of work to do before Jesus returns. Let’s purpose to listen to our hearts and make right choices and bring glory to our Lord Jesus!

Hebrews 11:6 (KJV) 6  But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Are You Aware of Your Angels?

Hebrews 1:13-14 (KJV) 13  But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?
14  Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

There are angels all around us but most people – Christians – don’t even know this and therefore can’t acknowledge it. And that’s not good. Look at the next few verses:

Hebrews 2:1-3 (KJV) 1  Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
2  For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;
3  How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

(Salvation here means deliverance from temporary evils.)

Notice that if we don’t acknowledge the presence of angels and get in line with God’s Word, they won’t move to protect us as they should. They have been give an assignment by Almighty God to help us and minister to us – the born-again Christians – heirs of salvation, but we have our part to do. We can either make a way for them to minister to/for us or hinder them from doing their job. So how do we do this?

First of all, know that God used angels many times throughout the Old Testament and in the New Testament to help people. He especially used angels in the life of Jesus. They have been given an assignment to move on the Word that He speaks and on the Word of God that we speak.

Psalm 103:20 (KJV) 20  Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.

Hearken means to hear intelligently and obey the word that is spoken. So how do they hearken to God’s Word? By listening to the words that we speak that line up with the Word of God. If we confess (speak) God’s Word, then the angels can move to cause those words to come to pass. But if we speak negative words, which are actually the devil’s words, our angels just stand there and do nothing because they cannot override our negative words. They don’t make judgments as to whether or not we mean what we say. If it’s not God’s Word, they don’t move. That’s why it’s so important that we don’t speak negative words that are contrary to God’s Word. If we do, we bind our angels from helping us.

Exodus 23:20-21 (KJV) 20  Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared.
21  Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name is in him.

The Israelites were told not to provoke the angel that the Lord sent before them because he (the angel) wouldn’t override what they said. If they confessed negatively, the angel couldn’t help them. And we know what happened in the wilderness!

Psalm 91:11 (KJV) 11  For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

This is a good scripture to confess daily for your protection. Your angels are standing by waiting for their assignment from you. Keep God’s Word in your mouth and let your angels do their job!

Looking Back Only Leads You in the Wrong Direction!

Galatians 4:9 (KJV) 9  But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?

Remember when you got saved? Everything seemed so bright and hopeful. You were floating on Cloud 9! But, then, reality set in and back to earth. That happens to all of us.

For me, everything really did seem brighter, as if my eyes were opened for the first time. How awesome to know that I was finally on the right team and had answers to every question I could possibly have. I knew that God had the answers even though I might not know them at the time. It was almost like I was in a different world! But then reality set in and back to planet earth.

However, even though the “honeymoon” was over, I was still as much on fire as I ever was and still am today. And that’s because when I got saved, it was “all or nothing”, and I chose “all”. I made a total commitment and never wavered from that position.

Now, about people who get saved and then when hard times come, they are tempted to turn back to their “unsaved’ ways. This is not good.

Notice in II Pet. 2:20-22 that those who turn back to their old ways are worse off than before. It never pays to go back. Besides, what is it that you’re going back to? Your life was not ideal before you got saved, so what do you think it can offer now? Really!

We all need to remember what we received when we got saved: the wisdom of God, access to all His promises, the faith of Jesus, the Holy Spirit, the Word of God, the Blood of Jesus the ministering angels who are sent to minister for us, plus much, much more! Why would we ever even want to go back to life without Jesus and all that He bought and paid for in His Redemption?

So, brothers and sisters, when the devil tempts you to “turn back” to your old way of doing things, stand your ground, submit to God, rebuke the devil in the Name of Jesus, and he will flee! End of story!

We are the blessed of the Lord!

Hebrews 10:38 (KJV)
38  Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
Galatians 6:7-8 (KJV) 7  Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
8  For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

2 Peter 2:20-22 (KJV) 20  For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
21  For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
22  But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

James 1:5 (AMP) 5  If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of the giving God [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him.

James 4:7-8a (KJV) 7  Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8  Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. .

Galatians 5:13 (KJV) 13  For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

Galatians 5:19-21 (KJV) 19  Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20  Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21  Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Galatians 5:22-23 (KJV) 22  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23  Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Prayer is a Two-way Street, Not a One-lane Alley!

Have you ever talked to yourself when no one was around or listening? Some call it thinking out loud but nevertheless, it’s something we do, some more frequently than others! This is okay because it’s a way of hearing our own thoughts and it helps us to organize what’s on our minds.

But, this is not the way we are to communicate with others. Communication should be a two-way street, not a monologue. However, this is the way most people approach God and call it prayer. They tell Him all that’s on their minds but then get up from their time of prayer and go about their daily business. When does God have chance to respond? Give Him time to speak to you and lead you. It will make your life a whole lot better!

Prayer should be a two-way street, not a one-lane alley! Yes, we have issues and problems, but if we’re ever going to get God’s help, we need to give Him time to respond and then listen to what He has to say.

And just for the record, knowing how to pray is essential if you’re going to receive anything from God. Just as in athletics there are different rules for each sport, so it is with prayer. If you’re sick, you don’t prayer a prayer of dedication! Let’s look at some scriptures.

John 14:13-14 (KJV) 13  And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14  If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

John 16:23-24 (KJV) 23  And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
24  Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

Notice that when we have a petition, we pray to our Heavenly Father in the Name of Jesus. But when we’re standing against the devil and his evil ways we take our authority in the Name of Jesus and speak directly to the problem.

And then there’s Mark 11:23-24 where we speak to the mountain in Jesus’ Name, doubt not in our heart, but believe that those things which we say will come to pass, and then we shall have them. We believe that we receive the answer before we see the manifestation.

Remember, when you got born-again and baptized with the Holy Spirit, you now have all that you need residing inside you. If you need peace, release it. If you need healing, release it. You have the fullness of the Godhead residing in you and you’re a powerhouse!

The problem is that most Christians haven’t been taught this because most people teaching the Bible don’t believe it themselves. But thanks the Lord, there are Bible teachers who are speaking out boldly, proclaiming the Good News of our redemption and what Jesus purchased for us!

Glory to God!

Mark 11:23-24 (KJV)
23  For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

24  Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

James 5:16b (AMP) 16  The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].

Colossians 2:9-10 (KJV) 9  For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
10  And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

Romans 8:11 (KJV) 11  But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

What Channel are You Listening to?

Have you noticed that you can hardly go anywhere without some sort of “noise” bombarding you – in stores, diners, laundromats, and even complaining people? So, what do we do with all that noise and does it really matter?

Yes, it does matters! More than you think. What you hear definitely impacts you, even if it’s just plain annoying. So, why is this so important?

First of all, the most important reason is Rom. 10:17:

Romans 10:17 (KJV) 17  So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

You see, not only does faith in God come by hearing God’s Word, but faith in the devil and his evil doings comes by hearing the words of the devil. And the more you hear – either good or evil – the more it gets into you and what gets into you, you believe! That’s why it’s so important what you let yourself hear.

If you’re fretful and anxious because of the world situation and economy, it could be because you’re watching and listening to the fake news and other worldly media.  You’re tuned to the wrong channel! In order to have peace and joy in your life, you have to tune into God’s Word.

Romans 15:13 (KJV) 13  Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

Joy and peace come through believing God’s Word and in order to do that, you must get into it and read, study, and meditate on it until it becomes a part of you. And, unfortunately, that doesn’t happen overnight! It takes time to study God’s Word and make it a part of your life, but it’s worth every minute!

Another channel you might be listening to that is detrimental to your well-being is complaining and negative people. They certainly don’t lift you up but rather bring you down. Some of them you’ll just have to distance yourself from in order to walk in the victory that God has for you.

And then there’s YOU! What me? Yes you! What you’re saying with your mouth can be your biggest asset or your biggest liability! If you’ve been reading my blogs for any length of time, you know how important the words you speak are because what you say is what gets into your heart and according to Mark 11:23, you going to have what you say – whether good or evil.

Mark 11:23 (KJV) 23  For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Galatians 6:7 (KJV) 7  Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

Fortunately, many of the negative things we say we really don’t believe, but the fact is, the more you say it, the more you will believe it. Purpose in your heart to say only those things that you want to come to pass, especially God’s Word.

And so, my dear friends, guard your heart from all the negative things around you by limiting the time you spend listening to the “news-that’s-not-fit-to-hear” and continue to stand on God’s Word so that you can live a life worth living.

Proverbs 4:23 (AMP) 23  Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.

1 Corinthians 14:10 (KJV) 10   There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification.
Mark 4:24 (KJV) 24  And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.

One Accord – Signs, Wonders, Miracles!

Acts 2:1,4 (KJV) 1  And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 4  And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Notice that they were all in one accord! Just what does that mean?

If you’ve ever been in a meeting when decisions had to be made and tried to get everyone on the same page, you know how challenging it can be! However, when people are in agreement, how wonderful that is!

It was on the day of Pentecost that they were in one accord. The apostles and disciples were in the upper room, all 120 of them, and they were all in one accord waiting for the Holy Spirit. And that’s when “suddenly” happened!

It’s the same in Acts 5:12 when they were in one accord – signs and wonders happened.

In Ps. 133, we see that when the people were in unity – the Lord commanded the blessing on them.

Being in one accord means to be unified in agreement about the same thing, to be on the same page. That’s when signs, wonders, and miracles happen. Of course, I’m talking about being in agreement on God’s Word. That’s when we see manifestation come forth. And many times it simply means that you are in agreement with God’s Word.

Too many times I’ve witnessed people praying for healing, even laying on of hands, but they weren’t agreeing with God’s Word. And, of course, nothing happened. It’s a sad sight!

Really – how hard is it to agree with what Almighty God has said? Why do people think they’re smarter than God and know more than He does about any given situation? How many universes have they created?

It’s not even in us to direct our own ways! We need to look to the Lord who lights our darkness and makes the crooked places straight.

If we want to see the manifestation of signs, wonders, and miracles from God, we need to get in agreement with what He has said in His Word and believe it with our whole heart.

The best is yet to come!

Psalm 133:1-3 (KJV) 1

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

3  As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.
Acts 5:12 (KJV) 12  And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s porch.
Acts 8:6 (KJV) 6  And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.
Jeremiah 10:23 (KJV) 23  O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.
Isaiah 45:2-3 (KJV) 2  I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron:
3  And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.

Psalm 18:28 (KJV)28  For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.

Words, Words, Words – Do They Really Matter?

Matthew 12:34b (KJV) 34  … for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
Matthew 12:37 (KJV) 37  For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

Yes, our words do matter. What we say is what we get – good or bad – because that’s what is in our hearts. As you can see from the above scripture, what’s in our hearts will eventually get in our mouths and we’ll speak it out- good or bad!

But, there’s hope. When we speak God’s Word in faith, we can be sure that we’re speaking the right thing. God’s ways are indubitably more superior to the ways of man. We should be so thankful that we can rely on His Word because our God is reliable, dependable, unchangeable, and stands behind every Word He has ever spoken!

As born-again Christians, we know that we’re dealing with two worlds: the physical world and the spiritual world. We live and function in the physical realm which is governed by our five physical senses. God lives and functions in the spiritual realm. And remember, God is a Spirit and we contact Him spirit to Spirit. So how do we do this? By using our faith the Word of God.

Remember, our real self is a spirit, we have a soul – our mind, will, and emotions, and we live in a body – our earth suit. We don’t contact God with our body or soul but with our re-born spirit – spirit to Spirit.

1 Thessalonians 5:23 (KJV) 23  And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

So, why are our words so important and why can’t we say any ol’ thing we want? Because, words are spiritual and they affect more than we think. In fact, words go beyond this physical world and affect the things of the spirit world. Let me give you an example:

Where is healing when you need it? It’s in the spirit realm and the way we access the spirit realm is with our words and faith. Remember, our words either justify us or condemn us. That’s why it behooves us to keep a guard on our mouths and only say what we really want to come to pass.

How many times have you heard someone say negative things about themselves or others and then wonder why bad things happen? Granted, we don’t always reap immediately but if we confess the wrong thing over and over, it will eventually manifest.

It’s the same with good things. When we confess God’s Word over situations, we can expect to see results. Then, depending on how developed we are in our confessions, that determines how fast we see manifestation.

Words are so important and we must take this seriously if we want to see God’s goodness in our lives. Speak God’s Word and get the results you desire!

John 4:24 (KJV) 24  God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Psalm 119:89 (AMP) 89  Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven [stands firm as the heavens].
Psalm 138:2b (KJV)  …for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.
Psalm 89:34 (KJV) 34  My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.
Psalm 119:105 (KJV) 105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

1 Corinthians 2:14 (KJV) 14  But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
