You are a Treasure!

2 Corinthians 4:7 (KJV) 7  But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

Malachi 3:17 (AMP) 17  And they shall be Mine, says the Lord of hosts, in that day when I publicly recognize and openly declare them to be My jewels (My special possession, My peculiar treasure). And I will spare them, as a man spares his own son who serves him.

How many of you actually feel like you’re God’s special treasure? Too many times we see ourselves only in the natural realm instead of in the spiritual realm as God sees us. We see our faults. God sees us through the Blood of Jesus, cleansed and made whole. How awesome is that!

So, just what is this treasure we have in our earthen vessels? It’s the Holy Spirit representing our Lord Jesus and empowering us to do the works that He did. Wow – this is almost too good even as I write it!

Romans 8:11 (KJV) 11  But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

Colossians 2:9-10 (KJV) 9  For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 10  And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

We have the same Spirit in us that raised Jesus from the dead! It’s almost too good to grasp but it’s true nonetheless. We truly are powerhouses for God! So, why don’t we see the power of God manifested more?

John 4:24 (KJV) 24  God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

As you know, there are two realms in existence: the physical realm – which we contact with our five physical senses, and the spirit realm, where God exists. And because God is a spirit, we have to contact Him – spirit to Spirit.

Getting back to the treasure we have in us, it’s in the spirit realm, in our reborn spirit. And since it’s in the spirit realm, we have to draw it out with our faith. Don’t let this be confusing to you. I’ve been teaching this all along in my blogs. Everything works by faith.

Whatever you need is already in your reborn spirit. God has already provided everything you’ll ever need on planet earth to be victorious and successful. But – your part is to reach out and receive it by faith.

Faith is the bridge from the spirit realm to the physical realm. When you “see” it in the spirit realm by faith and receive it by faith, then it manifests in your physical realm. This works for healing, deliverance, provision, protection and anything else you need. (Remember, this is a blog, not an in-depth teaching.)

2 Peter 1:3-4 (KJV) 3  According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 4  Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

We have to make a total commitment that the Word of God is true, no matter what anyone else says. Because – if you edit the Bible by picking and choosing what you will or will not believe, you’ll never come into the fullness of what God has for you.

Let’s be a people who believe God’s Word and see it in manifestation in our lives and thereby help others to experience the goodness of God  and be drawn to Him.

Romans 2:4b (KJV)  … knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

John 14:12 (KJV) 12  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Matthew 10:8 (KJV) 8  Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

How Close is the End?

If you want to know how close we are to the end, just look around you and you’ll see that time is short for the return of Jesus. It’s what Charles Capps calls the “triangle of the end.”

These are perilous time as we see in II Tim. 3:1-5:

2 Timothy 3:1-5 (KJV) 1  This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2  For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3  Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4  Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;5  Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

This is not a time to compromise. We have to stop straddling the fence and get serious because time is short and there’s a great work yet to be done. There was a time when we could be outside of God’s perfect will and still be protected but that time is over. We have to “fish or cut bait” as they say. We have to take our stand and stand for what we truly believe – no compromising! To be spiritually right has nothing to do with being politically correct!

In Rev. 2:6, we see Jesus is addressing the church at Ephesus:

Revelation 2:6 (KJV) 6  But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.

Jesus says He hates the deed of the Nicolaitans, referring to those who have compromised what they believed. This is totally unacceptable to the Lord.

Looking at James 1:6-8 we see that wavering/compromising gets us nothing because it cancels our faith. This is a very serious thing and we need to take heed.

James 1:6-8 (KJV) 6  But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. 7  For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. 8  A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

And, just in case you haven’t noticed, things are really speeding up in the world. Technology is growing by leaps and bounds – even computers are “old” at 6 months! And Christmas seems to arrive earlier each year!

The point I’m making is that it’s time to get serious and get on with the plans that God has for you. No more slacking or hesitating! Let’s stop playing church and be the Church that God has ordained us to be. Let’s do the works of Jesus as He said believers would do – heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons! That will get people’s attention and then we can tell them about our wonderful Lord Jesus!

Jesus is coming back for a Church without spot or wrinkle – no compromise. We are not a defeated Church; we’re the victorious Church of the Lord Jesus Christ! Let’s be all that God has for us to be and show the world that Jesus is Lord!

Ephesians 5:27 (KJV) 27  That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

The Gospel is the Power of God

Romans 1:16 (KJV) 16  For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

If the gospel is the power of God, why aren’t we seeing more of it in demonstration?

Mark 16:17 (KJV) 17  And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18  They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Notice in the above scripture that signs are to follow those who believe. Are you a believer? Are signs following you? Let’s look into this.

If we’re not seeing signs and wonders, etc., it’s one of two reasons: either we don’t believe that signs and wonders are to follow us or we’re not preaching the gospel because signs follow the preaching of the Word of God.

If we preach salvation, people get saved – right? Well, if we preach healing, guess what – people will get healed. If we preach prosperity and provision from God, people come out of poverty and lack. I think you get the point. What we preach is what we get. So, why isn’t the entire gospel being preached?

Paul told the Corinthians that it wasn’t his eloquent speech that would get the job done but demonstration of the power of God in their midst. That would certainly get their attention!

1 Corinthians 2:4-5 (KJV) 4  And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: 5  That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

I personally think that those who should be preaching the full gospel are not doing it because they really don’t believe it themselves. They really don’t know all that God has freely given us and therefore they can’t preach what they don’t know.

All we need to do is to look in the scriptures which are replete with God’s promises to us – those that He has freely given. Our part is to reach out and take hold of those promises. We’re to be the ones who show forth the goodness of God so that others can come to the Lord and live a life worth living!

1 Corinthians 2:11-12 (KJV) 11  For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

12  Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

We are the Redeemed!

When I first got saved, we sang a song based on Isa. 51:11:

Isaiah 51:11 (KJV) 11  Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.

But, as I recall, I didn’t even know what all that meant. What did it mean to be redeemed? And what was I redeemed from? Well, eventually, I found out what I was redeemed from and that I was actually redeemed to something. Let me explain.

Galatians 3:13 (KJV) 13  Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

Just what did it mean that Jesus redeemed me from the curse of the law? It meant that I was redeemed from sin, sickness, poverty, and spiritual death. Wow! What a revelation that was to find out that my sins were forever remitted – washed away, that I didn’t have to be sick anymore, that I didn’t have to be poor, and that I didn’t have to die spiritually, never to be separated from God again throughout all eternity!

And, just like the commercial says, “But, wait – there’s more!” Not only was I redeemed from all those bad things – Deut. 28:15-68, I also was also redeemed to the blessings of God – the blessings of Abraham as listed in Deut. 28:1-14.

The point I want to make is that when we get saved, we are then redeemed from all the curses of the law and eligible for all the blessings! Wow! Can it get any better than that!

Knowing that we are redeemed from sickness and disease puts us in a place to receive healing from God. Sickness is a curse. He doesn’t get any glory from you being sick. That’s a lie from the pit of hell to malign God’s integrity.

When you truly grasp that you don’t have to be sick because you’re redeemed from the curse, it’ll be easy to receive your healing because it has already been bought and paid for by the Lord Jesus! Go for it!

Psalm 107:2 (KJV) 2  Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;
Deuteronomy 28:1-14blessings

Deuteronomy 28:15-68curses

Psalm 103:4 (KJV) 4  Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;

Galatians 4:5 (KJV) 5  To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
Titus 2:14 (KJV) 14  Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

1 Peter 1:18-19 (KJV)18  Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 19  But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

Do We or Don’t We have a Free Will?

Do we or don’t we have a free will and how do we know? Are we really free agents or just pawns in the hand of God or satan? Let’s look at what God has to say about this.

Some think our lives are predestined by God and we really have no choice – whatever will be will be! But does this line up with God’s Word?

Looking at Genesis 1:26 we see:

Genesis 1:26 (KJV) 26  And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Here we see the dominion mandate that God gave mankind – to take dominion over the earth and subdue it. And as you know, they sold out to satan, who is the god of this world. This is free will at its best!

God could have jumped right in and cancelled everything but if He did, the whole universe would have imploded because everything is held together by God’s Word. That’s why He couldn’t take things back because it would mean going back on His Word that He gave to Adam and Eve. God had already put out His Word and He will never go back on it because He’s righteousness personified!

Hebrews 1:3 (KJV) 3  Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

Psalm 119:89 (KJV) 89 For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.

Numbers 23:19 (KJV) 19  God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

What about Pharaoh? The Old Testament says that God hardened his heart but actually Pharaoh hardened his own heart [Ex. 8:15, 32]. And remember, God looks at the heart [I Sam. 16:7]. Pharaoh had a free will to do right but he chose to rebel against God. His heart was already in a bad way and God’s commands served to expose what was already there.

It’s like the sun shining on wax or clay. It melts the wax but hardens the clay. The sun is not the variable.

It’s the same with Judas. He chose to betray Jesus because his heart was evil.

Then we see Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane. If Jesus didn’t have a free will, then His sacrifice was not really a sacrifice and He wouldn’t have prayed to His Father to take the cup from Him.

NEVERTHELESS! What an awesome word! Remember, Jesus always got His prayers answered and if He hadn’t prayed NEVERTHLESS, NOT MY WILL BUT THINE, He wouldn’t have gone to the Cross! Think about that! It’s awesome and scary at the same time!

Yes, we have a free will to choose right or wrong and unfortunately most people on planet earth are choosing the broad road that leads to destruction rather than the narrow road that leads to life. Throughout all eternity nobody will be able to say they didn’t have a choice. They’re without excuse!

How loving and gracious is God to give us a free will! Let’s use it to glorify and honor Him and be the example to the world that we’ve been called to be!

1 Samuel 16:7b (KJV)  … for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.

Exodus 8:15 (KJV) 15  But when Pharaoh saw that there was respite, he hardened his heart, and hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said.

Exodus 8:32 (KJV) 32  And Pharaoh hardened his heart at this time also, neither would he let the people go.

A New Species of Being – Really?

So, what actually happened when you got saved? And, which part of you got saved? Let’s look at some vital scriptures to better understand this supernatural event.

First of all, we have to establish who we are before we can understand what took place at salvation.

1 Thessalonians 5:23 (KJV) 23  And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 4:12 (KJV) 12  For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

From these two scriptures, we see that we are not just a body with five senses. We are tripartite beings – having three parts to us. The real “us” is our spirit; we have a soul, which is our mind, will, emotions, and we live in a body – our earth suit. Remember, God is three persons in One: the Father, Jesus, & the Holy Spirit. And because we’re made in the image of God, we too are three parts: spirit, soul, & body.

As you know, without going into a lot of detail, after you got saved, your body was the same: fat, skinny, tall, short, young, old – you name it. And, your soul – mind, will, emotions, etc. also stayed the same. So, what changed? Our spirit – the inner man as Paul calls it.

Ephesians 3:16 (KJV) 16  That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;

Before you got saved, you were in bondage to the devil and his ways. You had a sin nature and that’s why it was so easy to do the wrong thing and so hard not to do the wrong thing. It was as if you couldn’t help but sin because it was your nature to sin. Just like it’s a dog’s nature to bark.

But – after you got saved, you received a new nature – a nature that delights to do the will of God. You didn’t get a new body or soul, but a new nature. Now you can resist sin and live the holy life that God has ordained for you to live. You no longer have a sin nature but a new nature which is made after the image of God and His likeness. And, in our reborn spirits, we are exactly as Jesus is! Wow! That’s awesome!

James 3:9 (KJV) 9  Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.

James 3:9 (AMP) 9  With it we bless the Lord and Father, and with it we curse men who were made in God’s likeness!

2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV) 17  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (AMP) 17  Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!

You see, a born-again person becomes a new creature, a new species of being that never existed before! But, that’s your spirit man. You still have a flesh body that wants to do the same things it did before you got saved and a soul [mind] that still thinks the wrong things. So what do you do?

According to God’s Word, you have to keep your body under! You have to reign it in and as Paul says, mortify the deeds of the flesh by silencing those fleshly desires – put them to death before they take hold of you and put you in bondage.

The good news is that God has so graciously equipped you with all the tools you’ll ever need to be victorious. You have to renew your mind by getting into the Word and letting it get into you. That will change your thinking to where you start to think and talk like God. Then you’ll get God’s results. What a life God has planned for us! [I encourage you to read Andrew Wommack’s book: Spirit, Soul, & Body.]

How Amazing is God’s Grace!

So amazing is God’s grace that we can’t even get saved without it because we’re saved by grace through faith [Ephesians 2:8]. So, just what is God’s grace?

As many of you already know, His grace is His unmerited, divine enablement, but that’s not all it is. I like Charles Capps’ definition of God’s grace: God’s willingness to use His power and ability on our behalf.

Hebrews 4:16 (KJV) 16  Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Notice that God’s throne is called the throne of grace where we find mercy given to those who have a need and provides the necessary resources to fulfill that need. In other words, God is always ready to help us. And not only that, we are told to come boldly to God’s throne of grace, not come crawling in like unwanted orphans! We are His children and heirs with Jesus, which means that everything Jesus has, we have! How awesome!

Romans 8:16-17a (KJV) 16  The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17  And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ;

Galatians 4:6-7 (KJV) 6  And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. 7  Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

The good news here is that God has freely given us His grace. We didn’t do anything to get it. We can’t earn it, beg for it, pray for it, or obtain it any other way. He’s already given it to us through Jesus. Our part now is to receive it by faith. We only access His grace through faith. That’s our part. God has already done His part by freely giving it to us. Our part now is to use our faith to bring His grace into manifestation in the physical realm so that we can operate in His power and ability.

As I’ve said many times, all of God’s promises are in the spirit realm and the way we bridge that gap and bring those promises into the physical realm is with our faith.

Remember, grace is God’s willingness to use His power and ability on our behalf. He wants to do this for us. We don’t have to talk Him into it. He’s already done it. It’s a done deal!

Now, the next good thing about God’s grace is that it can be multiplied to us. Wow! Who woulda thought? II Peter 1:2 tells us that grace is multiplied to us through the knowledge of Jesus, Who is the Word. So, we can say that grace is multiplied to us through knowledge of the Word of God. As the Word gets into us more and more, God’s grace is multiplied in us and our ability to use His power and ability increases. Just think, to be able to walk in God’s power and ability and see the manifestation of His promises in our lives is so utterly awesome and a life worth living!

We need to walk in God’s grace because without it – our acknowledgement and receiving of it – we really can’t do much for His kingdom. We need the supernatural operation of God’s grace in our lives.

Just as we’ve been given the measure of the God-kind of faith [Rom. 12:3], we have to use it for it to increase and multiply and get it into our hearts, so it is with grace. God has already given it, but our part is to receive it and walk in it – acknowledging it in every area of our lives.

As we acknowledge every good thing that is in us and walk in it, those good things from God multiply and increase and we become the powerhouses that God intends us to be – showing forth His goodness and doing the works of Jesus!

2 Peter 1:2 (KJV) 2  Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,

Romans 12:3b (KJV) 3  … according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

Philemon 1:6 (KJV) 6  That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.

John 14:12 (KJV) 12  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Who’s Sitting on the Throne of Your Life?

Is God sitting on the throne of your life or are you? Who’s in charge? You or God?

We all would like to say that God is on the throne of our life and that Jesus is Lord of my life – but remember, God gave us a free will and many of us are using it to our detriment.

Do you read God’s Word and ignore walking in what He has said? Do you make up your own plans and then ask God to bless them? Do you waffle and waver when you know God is speaking to you about certain situations?

Your free will should be used to say yes to God’s ways and plans for you. All of His ways are so much better than yours. So, why do you think you can run your life so much better than He can? Pride, for one thing!

Jeremiah 10:23 (KJV) 23  O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.

We are tripartite beings – spirit, soul, and body. The real us is our spirit man –our inner man. We have a soul, which is our mind, will, emotions, personality, character, and we live in a body, our outward man. [I Thes. 5:23]

Because God is a Spirit [John 4:24], we have to contact God spirit to Spirit  with our inner man. We don’t contact God with our minds or our bodies. We contact Him with our spirit. That’s where all the good stuff is! That’s where the Holy Spirit resides. We are powerhouses because the Holy Spirit indwells us, if we’ve been born-again.

But, as I always say, there’s a God-part and a man-part. God has already done His part. He’s already given us everything pertaining to life and godliness, and everything resides in our reborn spirit – perfect, whole, and complete in every way. Your spirit is perfect, whole, and complete and can’t get any more perfect. It’s already as perfect as Jesus because we’re joined with Him. We’re one with Him. [I Cor. 6:17; John 17:11]

The word one is heis in Greek and means singular to the exclusion of another. We are one with Jesus and our spirit is as perfect as it will ever be – just like Jesus. I know that’s a mouthful but God said it and that settles it!

As we yield more and more to the Lordship of Jesus in our lives and live according to His Word, we draw on His promises through faith. That’s where we experience all that God has for us.

God’s Promises are for Us but are Not Automatic!

2 Peter 1:3-4 (KJV) 3  According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and
4  Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

2 Corinthians 1:20 (KJV) 20  For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

Oh the promises of God! How awesome that Almighty God would so graciously extend to us all that He has! What a life He intends for us! So, why aren’t we seeing His promises manifesting in our lives? Good question!

First of all, when God speaks, we should listen! He has said that all of His promises are for us and they’re always in the “yes” column! But, just because God has given, doesn’t mean we automatically receive. Receiving is not automatic.

Our problem is not with the Giver – God, but is with us – the receiver. Receiving anything from God is not automatic. Take salvation for example: God has given but not all receive because receiving is a choice and requires faith on our part. Faith activates the promises as we reach out and take hold on what God has already given.

Let’s use healing as another example. I Pet. 2:24 tells us that by the stripes of Jesus we were healed – past tense. This is a done deal. Healing has already been provided through the Lord Jesus but not everyone is healed – just look around!

It’s not God’s fault that people aren’t healed. He’s done His part so we’re the ones who have missed it somewhere on the receiving end. Remember, faith activates the power of God and causes His promises to manifest in our lives: healing, deliverance, provision, protection, wholeness, etc. All of these have been provided for us but all are not walking in their inheritance.

We need to take God at His Word and take our places as sons and daughters of the Most High God. He loves us and wants us to partake of all He’s provided. That’s why He’s made every provision for us. He’s looking for those to whom He can show Himself strong (II Chronicles 16:9). Be one of those!

1 Peter 2:24 (KJV) 24  Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

2 Chronicles 16:9 (KJV) 9  For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.

Reality or Smoking Mirrors?

Can you say that you’re better off today than a year ago? 5 years ago? If you aren’t better off, why is that?

Are you just going through the motions and hoping all will be okay? If you were accused of being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you? If you’re no better off than those who are unsaved, that ought not to be. Unfortunately, it’s true about many Christians that from a glance, you couldn’t tell the difference between them and their unsaved neighbors. They’re just as sick, depressed, and in debt as those around them. What’s the problem?

First of all, it is definitely not the will of God to be poor, sick, depressed and a sorry mess. That’s the devil’s plans for all mankind. So, what has happened?

Let’s go back to the beginning when you first got saved. Things were so sweet and your love affair with the Lord was at its peak. But after the honeymoon, you came back to earth and the reality of life stared you in the face.

However, if you took your salvation seriously, you continued in God’s Word: studying, growing, and maturing in the things of God. Then when problems arose, you attacked them with the Word and stood your ground against the devil and his plans to rob your faith. Then when you looked back over the previous years you saw how you’ve grown.

However, if along the way, you let the problems of life overtake you and crowd out God’s way of doing things, you now find yourself no better off than the heathen except that you’re saved. And saved you are! Thank the Lord for that but what kind of testimony do you have that will cause people to want what you have? They already have nothing, can do nothing that works, and they’re depressed over it!

We need to be beacons of light, announcing to the world that God’s ways are a lot better than theirs. God’s plans for us are far better than we can think, know, or imagine and we are fully able to walk in them.

Yes, it takes effort to walk in God’s ways as does everything that’s worth doing and having. But we have supernatural help and that will put us over!

Let’s get back to God’s Word and follow His plans and walk in victory!

2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV) 15  Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Hebrews 12:1b (KJV)  … let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
