How many times have you been tempted to quit or give up on what you were believing for because it was taking too long for the results? Unfortunately, too many of us have done that and never attained our desired results.
Years ago, I heard a man of God give a testimony of just that – not giving up just because your answer didn’t come in your time frame. He said that he was getting weary from the “long” wait and was tempted to just quit and go on to something else. However, the Lord spoke to him and asked him how he would feel if in one hour things would have changed if he hadn’t quit? Well, needless to say, he didn’t quit and went on to get his desired results.
Over the years, I have spoken that word to myself and others and have been so grateful that I didn’t quit because my answer eventually came. BUT, had I listened to my flesh and given up because of weariness, I would have missed the glorious victory of answered prayer!
God tells us not to get weary and not to give up but to fight the good fight of faith. Faith is what overcomes the world and all the attacks of the enemy. If Satan can steal your faith, he’s got you right where he wants and you won’t get your answers.
God is faithful and when we pray in faith according to His Word, He hears and answers us. We need to exercise patience in our “waiting” period and let God do a perfect work in us.
1 John 5:4 (KJV) 4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
Galatians 6:9 (KJV) 9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Proverbs 16:3 (AMP) 3 Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and] so shall your plans be established and succeed.
1 Timothy 6:12 (KJV) 12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
1 John 5:14-15 (KJV) 14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: 15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
Psalm 121:3-4 (KJV) 3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. 4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
God doesn’t sleep or get weary. He’s always on the case. You can count on it!
