If you don’t want to end up being lazy, don’t practice laziness. Do things for yourself instead of ordering everyone else to do it for you. Get over the LOVE of being waited on hand and foot!
God warns us of the dangers of being lazy. He calls it slothfulness.
Proverbs 21:25 (KJV) 25 The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labour.
Proverbs 24:30-31 (KJV) 30 I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;
31 And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down
Lazy people don’t inherit the promises because they won’t do what it takes to get the promises to manifest in their lives. It takes effort and diligence to walk in the things of God. Many people want what God’s blessing produces but don’t want to do what it takes to get it working in their lives.
Hebrews 6:12 (KJV) 12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
To have patience means to stay in faith over a prolonged period of time. If everything happened the moment we prayed, there wouldn’t be any need for patience. But God says that it’s through faith and patience that we inherit the promises. It’s do-able, but we have to do our part. God won’t do our part and we can’t do His. But, if we work together with Him, we’ll get the victory!
It takes persistence to diligently read and study the Word of God on a daily basis. There are so many distractions that will seek our attention but we must push on through if we want to succeed. Remember, we make time for the things we want to do!
Proverbs 18:9 (KJV) 9 He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster.
Romans 12:11 (KJV) 11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord. . .
Get serious, get going, and you’ll be blessed!
