Will You Only Believe What You Can See?

John 20:24-29 (KJV) 24  But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.
25  The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.
26  And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.
27  Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.
28  And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.
29  Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

In this passage we see the account of Jesus appearing to the disciples after His Resurrection. But, as you know, Thomas wasn’t there and when he heard about Jesus’ appearance, unless he actually saw and touched Jesus, he would not believe. But, when he saw Jesus, he then believed.

Now, I want you to notice Jesus’ response to Thomas, “Blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.” That’s referring to us! And He’s saying that the ones who believe (that’s us) without seeing are the ones who are blessed—empowered to prosper.

You see, (no pun intended), if you’ll only believe what you can “see” with your five physical senses, you’ll never walk by faith. And without faith it’s impossible to please God! That’s a very serious thing.

Everything we do as Christians, must be done in faith and walking by faith involves believing before you see the results. Take healing, for example. According to Mark 11:23-24, we are to believe we are already healed before we see the manifested healing. Many people won’t do that and they hinder their healing.

Then there’s financial abundance. God has abundance for us but we have to do what He said to do—tithe and give offerings. You have to release finances before you receive. Many people won’t do that because they don’t believe it will happen. That’s not faith. If you can see it, you don’t need faith for it because it’s already manifested.

The truth is that you can see more with your eyes of faith than you can with your physical senses because the spirit realm created the physical realm. It’s the parent force.

Let’s endeavor to walk by faith and not by sight and enjoy all that God has for us!

Hebrews 11:6 (KJV) 6  But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Mark 11:23-24 (KJV) 23  For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24  Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

1 Peter 2:24 (KJV) 24  Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Malachi 3:10 (KJV) 10  Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
Luke 6:38 (KJV) 38  Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

2 Corinthians 5:7 (KJV) 7  (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
