2 Corinthians 5:7 (KJV) 7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
Hebrews 11:6 (KJV) 6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
As bona fide, born-again, Bible-believing Christians, our desire is to please God – right? And, as we see in the above scripture, faith is the way to please Him. As Paul said in II Cor. 5:7, we walk by faith and not by sight.
But, what does this really mean and how do we know if we’re walking by faith and not by sight? How do we know this without just thinking we’re walking by faith when actually we’re steeped in walking by sight – being led by our five physical senses?
I like what the Lord told Charles Capps about what many people think faith is: high expectation based on wrong information. And if that’s what you’re doing, it won’t produce desired results.
Faith, true faith that actually pleases God, is faith based on the integrity of His Word and not on circumstances or our five physical senses – what we can see, hear, taste, touch, or smell. Is what you’re believing and walking in based on God’s Word? Or, are you being led by what someone else has said or done?
The only thing that will get God-results is what is based on what God has already said in His Word. That’s why He gave us His Word – so we can get the results we so greatly desire.
Remember, we’re not orphans. God, in His infinite wisdom, has so thoroughly provided everything we’ll ever need to prosper and be successful on planet earth. Our part is to partake of His promises by receiving what He has given.
God’s Word is incorruptible seed and when planted in the soil of your heart, will produce what it was sent to do. His Word always works; that’s a given! But we must work the Word. Any failure to produce is on our part – not God’s.
What a blessed people we are!
1 Peter 1:23 (KJV) 23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
Isaiah 55:10-11 (KJV) 10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
