What are You Establishing with Your Words?

I Peter 3:10 (KJV) 10  For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:
James 3:2 (KJV) 2  For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.
Proverbs 18:21 (KJV) 21  Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Wow! If we ever get hold of the importance of the words we speak, it would change our lives. Death and life are in the power of the tongue and we need to be aware of that constantly.

Peter tells us that if we want to love life and see good days, we need to watch the words we speak. We can’t speak negative words and expect positive results. And we certainly can’t speak contrary to God’s Word and expect His promises to manifest in our lives.

Then we see in James that the way we bridle and control our whole body is by the words we speak. In fact, we rarely do anything without first saying it. And if we want God’s promises to manifest in our lives, we have to speak His Word.

Words are the most powerful thing in the universe because everything God ever did or does is with Words. That’s how it was in the beginning and that’s how it is now. Remember, God and His Word are One and Jesus is the Word. Anywhere you look, you see God and His Word at work.

What you speak forth will get in your heart and what gets in your heart in abundance is what you will believe. Then when you speak, it will come forth with power and cause the desired results. This works not only in the positive but also in the negative.

You see, whatever words we speak, we are establishing in our lives. Our Words establish it because words are seeds that get planted in our hearts when we speak or confess them. That’s why it’s vitally important that we don’t go around stating or confessing what is already apparent in the natural realm because that doesn’t change things. It only establishes what already is!

Faith is the Law of Change. If we’re battling a sickness, we can’t continually confess or talk about how sick we are. That doesn’t change the circumstances. It establishes it in our hearts and lives. But if we confess God’s Word over the situation and speak to the sickness in Jesus’ Name, then we have God’s incorruptible Word working in our lives to change the circumstances to get us our desired results. (I Pet. 2:24; Isa 54:17; I Pet. 5:8-9)

Praise the Lord for His faithfulness to always back up His Word as we work it. What an awesome God we serve!

Romans 4:17b (KJV) 17  … even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.
Matthew 12:34b (KJV) 34  … for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
Matthew 12:37 (KJV) 37  For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
Genesis 1:3 (KJV) 3  And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

1 Peter 2:24 (KJV) 24  Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
Isaiah 54:17 (KJV) 17  No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.
1 Peter 5:8-9 (KJV) 8  Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
9  Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
