Is your pride standing in the way of receiving your healing from God? I know this might sound like an odd question, but it might be the answer to why you haven’t seen your healing manifested.
So, what do I mean? For quite some time I have been puzzled as to why Christians who love the Lord won’t believe that it’s God’s will to heal everyone, every time, anywhere, any time. And I think I have an answer.
People who have a sickness, disease, or some other kind of problem for a long period of time seem to identify with the problem – that’s who they are: a diabetic, a cancer patient, an alcoholic, etc. but, that’s not what God’s Word says. Yes, you might be battling those things, but that’s not who you are. You’re a child of the Most High God, blessed coming in, blessed going out, the head and not the tail, above and not beneath.
But that’s not the answer to my question. Many people with long-term illnesses have prayed and prayed and gotten no results. Then when someone like me comes along and tells them that it’s God’s will for them to be healed, they have two choices: believe and receive or admit that they have been wrong all along, which they don’t want to do – and that’s pride.
We humans don’t like to admit that we’re wrong. We like to think we know a lot more than we know – and that’s pride too. How are you ever going to learn anything if you think you already know everything?
I like to say it this way: is what you’re doing working for you? Are you getting the desired results you want when you pray? Are you praying in faith according to God’s will?
Romans 14:23b (KJV) 23 … for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.
1 John 5:14-15 (KJV) 14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
John 16:23 (KJV) 23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
God wants you well. He’s not testing you by your illness. If you really thought there was some redeeming value in your suffering, why do you go to the doctor to get well? If you think this is a test from God, why are you taking medicine to get well? Do you see how silly this sounds?
It’s simple and easy. It’s not hard because if it were hard, we couldn’t do it. After all, we’re His sheep and you know how smart sheep are!
We need to get back to the drawing board and look at what God has to say about healing and get healed! We can be a whole lot more effective for God if we’re well instead of sick.
God is on our side. Let’s get on His side and get the results we desire!
