John 3:3 (KJV)
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
When you get born-again you come alive to God and then your priorities are expected to change. You now want to please your Heavenly Father and walk in His ways. The problem is that we have so much baggage that tries to hang on. Part of that baggage can be past dealings with witchcraft or the occult. I’m going to address that today. Notice the company that witchcraft keeps in the following verses:
Galatians 5:19-21 (KJV) 19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
Really horrible stuff – right? Let me explain further. Think back to whether or not you’ve ever played around with or dabbled in astrology, horoscopes, séances, ouija boards, tarot cards, Harry Potter, witchcraft movies – vampires, etc. If you have, you opened yourself up to the devil’s playground and he and his demons can hang on and around you causing havoc in your life. His whole plan is to rob, kill, and destroy but Jesus came to give you abundant life.
John 10:10 (KJV)
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
So, what do you do if you’ve been involved in any form of witchcraft? Here’s how I would pray and suggest you do the same:
In the Name of Jesus, I bind and renounce every wicked spirit of astrology, horoscopes, séances, Ouija boards, tarot cards, Harry Potter, witchcraft movies – vampires, and anything else to do with witchcraft. I break your evil power over me and I loose myself to walk in the plans and purposes of Almighty God. I now apply the Blood of Jesus over me and my family. Thank You Lord for delivering me and setting me free.
Now, avoid any further involvement in witchcraft. Get into God’s Word and fill up with Him. This is your protection and power over the devil and his wickedness.
This is an easy thing to remedy but you must make the effort. Otherwise, the enemy – the devil and his demons – will have a field day with you, harassing, hindering, and blocking your faith.
James 4:7 (KJV) 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
1 Peter 5:8-9 (KJV) 8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
1 Samuel 15:23a (KJV) 23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.
God is on our side and wants His very best for us!
