Proverbs 16:24 (KJV) 24 Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.
Our words should be a blessing every time we speak. That way, if we have to eat them, they’ll be sweet and nourishing. What am I saying?
In the above scripture, we see that pleasant words are like honeycomb. That means agreeable words, not harsh, antagonistic words, preferably God’s Word coming out of our mouths.
The word health in this scripture is marpê which actually means medicine or a cure. This means that when we speak God’s Word – what He says – we can expect to get our health restored, our relationships restored, and our life restored.
Brothers and sisters, the reason I emphasize the importance of our words is that God emphasizes it. Everything He did or does is by speaking His Word first and getting it into the earth to do is will.
Did you know that before Jesus could come to the earth as a man, God had to get His Word into the earth? It took millennia to do this. And then when He found a prophet who would actually speak forth His word – Isaiah – it took another 750 years until Jesus was actually born here.
As my Pastor, Keith Moore says, if you believe the very first verse of the Bible, you won’t have trouble with the rest! God spoke and it was! His Word always works!
Genesis 1:1 (KJV)
1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
