2 Timothy 3:16 (KJV) 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
As you know, I am continuously encouraging you to get into God’s Word and get it into you. So, today I want to elaborate a bit about just what’s in God’s Word and why should we get into it.
God’s Word is just that – His Word, spoken by Him to us. As you can see in the above scripture, His Word was given by inspiration to the writers of the Bible. Let’s look at the word – inspiration.
The word inspiration in the Greek is theopneustos which means divinely breathed in or God-breathed. That means when God spoke His Word into the earth, He spoke part of Himself into each Word. That means His DNA is in the Words He spoke! It contains His very breath! How awesome is that!
Let me give you an example that Rick Renner shared. If you blowup a balloon, the breath you breathe into it sustains it after you tie a knot. But the interesting thing is that the breath you have just breathed into the balloon contains your DNA because it came out of you.
Likewise, when God breathed out His words, they came from inside Him and also contain His DNA. This is so awesome because when we speak His Words, they’re still just as powerful as when He first spoke them. That’s why confession of the Word is so important.
When we confess – speak – God’s Word, we are actually speaking out those Words to cause them to do what they were sent to do.
Isaiah 55:11 (KJV)
11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
God’s Word doesn’t automatically come to pass just because it’s in the Bible. It has to be spoken in faith for God to move on it and then POWER comes forth to cause the results. Praise the Lord of Glory!
