Knowing & Walking in Your Spiritual Authority – Part II

Genesis 3:6(KJV) 6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

Adam sold out to the devil. Now what was God going to do? Why didn’t He destroy Adam & Eve & satan and start all over with a new man? Why didn’t He just wipe the slate clean and start over?

He had given His Word that Adam was to have dominion over the earth. That meant Adam could freely give up that authority if he so chose. It was the wrong thing to do but God had given him a free will and God would not violate His Word. That’s why things were a mess. But God had another Plan. God always has a Plan because He’s the Great Planner!

God’s Plan was a Plan of Redemption and what a Plan it was! Jesus would come to earth, as a man, redeem mankind back to God, and restore all that was lost in the great Fall.

Fast forward to the New Testament where Jesus paid the ultimate price to redeem mankind back to God. And here we are today. But what exactly does that mean – our redemption?

Not only did Jesus pay the price for the original sin that Adam and Eve committed, but He bought back our restoration – our authority and dominion over the earth. That was God’s original Plan and it is still His Plan today. That’s what Spiritual Authority is and that’s what I’m about to teach.

Spiritual authority and power go together even though they’re different words. The word authority in the New Testament is exousia which means delegated authority but is sometimes translated power.

The word power is the word dunamis, which you have seen many times in my teachings. It refers to the explosive, miraculous demonstrative power of Almighty God.

Let me give you an example. A bank guard standing at the entrance of a bank has authority to choose who comes in and who doesn’t. He doesn’t have power to stop a band of robbers but if he has a gun, then he has power to stop them. That’s the difference. We have authority and we have power over all the power of the enemy in the Name of Jesus.
