How Close is the End?

If you want to know how close we are to the end, just look around you and you’ll see that time is short for the return of Jesus. It’s what Charles Capps calls the “triangle of the end”.

These are perilous time as we see in II Tim. 3:1-5:

2 Timothy 3:1-5 (KJV) 1  This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2  For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3  Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4  Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5  Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

This is not a time to compromise. We have to stop straddling the fence and get serious because time is short and there’s a great work yet to be done. There was a time when we could be outside of God’s perfect will and still be protected but that time is over. We have to “fish or cut bait” as they say. We have to take our stand and stand for what we truly believe – no compromising! To be spiritually right has nothing to do with being politically correct!

In Rev. 2:6, we see Jesus is addressing the church at Ephesus:

Revelation 2:6 (KJV) 6  But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.

Jesus says He hates the deed of the Nicolaitans, referring to those who have compromised what they believed. This is totally unacceptable to the Lord.

Looking at James 1:6-8 we see that wavering/compromising gets us nothing because it cancels our faith. This is a very serious thing and we need to take heed.

James 1:6-8 (KJV) 6  But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
7  For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
8  A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

And, just in case you haven’t noticed, things are really speeding up in the world. Technology is growing by leaps and bounds – even computers are “old” at 6 months! And Christmas seems to arrive earlier each year!

The point I’m making is that it’s time to get serious and get on with the plans that God has for you. No more slacking or hesitating. Let’s stop playing church and be the Church that God has ordained us to be. Let’s do the works of Jesus as He said believers would do – heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils. That will get people’s attention and then we can tell them about our wonderful Lord Jesus!

John 14:12 (KJV) 12  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Matthew 10:8 (KJV) 8  Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

Jesus is coming back for a Church without spot or wrinkle – no compromise. We are not a defeated Church; we’re the victorious Church of the Lord Jesus Christ! Let’s be all that God has for us to be and show the world that Jesus is Lord!

Ephesians 5:27 (KJV) 27  That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

We are the Redeemed!

When I first got saved, we sang a song based on Isa. 51:11:

Isaiah 51:11 (KJV) 11  Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.

But, as I recall, I didn’t even know what all that meant. What did it mean to be redeemed? And what was I redeemed from? Well, eventually, I found out what I was redeemed from and that I was actually redeemed to something. Let me explain.

Galatians 3:13 (KJV) 13  Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

Just what did it mean that Jesus redeemed me from the curse of the law? It meant that I was redeemed from sin, sickness, poverty, and spiritual death. Wow! What a revelation that was to find out that my sins were forever remitted – washed away, that I didn’t have to be sick anymore, that I didn’t have to be poor, and that I didn’t have to die spiritually, never to be separated from God again, throughout all eternity!

And, just like the commercial says, “But, wait – there’s more!” Not only was I redeemed from all those bad things – Deut. 28:15-68, I also was also redeemed to the blessings of God – the blessings of Abraham as listed in Deut. 28:1-14.

The point I want to make is that when we get saved, we are then redeemed from all the curses of the law and eligible for all the blessings! Wow! Can it get any better than that!

Knowing that we are redeemed from sickness and disease puts us in a place to receive healing from God. Sickness is a curse. God doesn’t get any glory from you being sick. That’s a lie from the pit of hell to malign God’s integrity.

When you truly grasp that you don’t have to be sick because you’re redeemed from the curse, it’ll be easy to receive your healing because it has already been bought and paid for by the Lord Jesus! Go for it!

Psalm 107:2 (KJV) 2  Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;
Deuteronomy 28:1-14 – blessings

Deuteronomy 28:15-68 – curses

Psalm 103:4 (KJV) 4  Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
Galatians 4:5 (KJV) 5  To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
Titus 2:14 (KJV) 14  Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
1 Peter 1:18-19 (KJV)18  Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
19  But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

Is Jesus the Reason You Celebrate Christmas?

Now that might sound like an odd question but to millions of people, Christmas is just another holiday to party! This ought not to be!

As we approach Christmas day, looking forward to all the festivities, there will be millions of people celebrating Christmas without one mention of the One Who is the Reason for the celebration –our Lord Jesus! How sad that so many will celebrate Christmas and miss the whole point of why we’re celebrating!

II Cor. 9:15 tells us that Jesus is God’s unspeakable Gift to us. The Amplified calls Jesus God’s indescribable, inexpressible free Gift to us. Words are not adequate to describe all that Jesus is. John15:5 says that without Him we can do nothing but with Him we can do all things [Phil. 4:13].

Not only that, Jesus redeemed us from the curse of the law – sin, sickness, poverty, and spiritual death. Who wouldn’t want to serve a Lord who is constantly looking out for us and has paved the way for us to live victoriously on planet earth and afterwards to rejoice with Him forevermore!

We truly have so much to celebrate that we should have Christmas every day. I think many people don’t really know what their salvation means and that’s why they don’t make a big deal about it at Christmas time. That needs to change!

We need to instill God’s Word and ways into our children now because they’re our future generation and legacy!

Get out your Bible on Christmas day and share the gospel of Jesus Christ with your loved ones and have a blessed celebration!

Jesus is the TRUE reason for the season!

2 Corinthians 9:15 (AMP) 15  Now thanks be to God for His Gift, [precious] beyond telling [His indescribable, inexpressible, free Gift]!
John 15:5 (KJV) 5  I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
Philippians 4:13 (AMP) 13  I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency].
Galatians 3:13 (KJV) 13  Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

Why do We Pray if God Already Knows Everything?

Since God knows everything, why do we pray? Good question.

We don’t pray to tell God our problem; He already knows it. What we are to do is to pray His Word which is the solution to the problem. Too many times prayer consists of complaining and rehashing the problem to the Lord and when we’re finished, we don’t feel any better. That’s because when we complain and rehearse the problem, we’re actually establishing it in our lives. Let’s look at what Jesus told us to do.

First, look at Mark 11:22 in the Young’s Literal Translation:

Mark 11:22 (YLT) 22  And Jesus answering saith to them, `Have faith of God;

Notice that Jesus told us to have the God kind of faith, not just faith in Him but to have His faith. Now look at Galatians:

Galatians 2:20 (KJV) 20  I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

You see, it’s really God’s faith that we have. How awesome is that!

Now we can go to Mark 11:

Mark 11:23-24 (KJV) 23  For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24  Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

This is the way we are to pray – the solution, not the problem. We’re to speak to the mountains in our lives and command them to be removed.

And in Luke we see that we are to command the problems to be plucked up and planted in the sea.

Luke 17:6 (KJV) 6  And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.[The Greek says it would obey you.]

If all we ever do is to rehearse the problem to God, there’s no faith in that and nothing will change because faith is the law of change.

Find scriptures that pertain to the solution to your problem, pray them in faith, and watch the answer manifest!

Jeremiah 1:12 (KJV) 12  Then said the LORD unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.
2 Chronicles 16:9a (KJV) 9  For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.
Isaiah 55:11 (KJV) 11  So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Pamela

What to do When You’ve Done all you Know to do

What do you do when you’ve done everything you know to do and the answer still hasn’t manifested? That’s a very good question because that’s what many people struggle with.

Ephesians 6:13-18 (KJV) 13  Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14  Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15  And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16  Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18  Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

As you can see, after we’ve done all we can do, we are to STAND and keep on standing. But what is it that we’re to stand on? Good question.

As you already know, my answer is the same as it’s always been – stand on the Word of God and don’t waver one nano second! The only way to be sure you never get the answer to manifest is to quit and that’s not what we were created to do.

We are made in the image of God and therefore we are to look to Jesus as the Pattern Son. Did He ever quit doing what the Father wanted Him to do? Did He ever veer off His chosen course? No, no, no! He stayed faithful to the end and that’s what we’re to do.

Remember what I always say – in one hour things can change because faith is the law of change. If you want change, use your faith and don’t ever waver from your position of faith in God’s Word.

God is faithful, faithful, faithful and if He said it, and you’re standing in faith according to His Word, you can be sure the answer will come. Many dreams have been shattered because people gave up right before the answer came.

1 John 5:14-15 (KJV) 14  And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
15  And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

We’re not quitters. We’re overcomers! God always causes us to triumph in Christ Jesus but we have to do our part to keep standing in faith. Remember the Israelites? The never did enter the rest of God because they didn’t mix faith with God’s Word to them.

Hebrews 4:2 (KJV) 2  For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

We have to see the answer with the eyes of our faith. We can’t wait to believe until we see it. That’s not faith. Faith is holding onto God’s promises because He said it and that settles it!

2 Corinthians 1:20 (KJV) 20  For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

Ephesians 1:17-19 (KJV) 17  That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
18  The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
19  And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

You see, His power is in us but how much of it is working in us? How much is active? That’s why we need to get God’s Word into us in abundance so that it overflows into the natural realm and causes explosive manifestations of dunamis power. That’s when we see miracles happen! And how glorious that is!

Jeremiah 1:12 (AMP) 12  Then said the Lord to me, You have seen well, for I am alert and active, watching over My word to perform it.
2 Chronicles 16:9a (KJV) 9  For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.

God is looking for those to whom He can manifest His power. Let’s be those people!

2 Corinthians 2:14 (KJV) 14  Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.
2 Corinthians 2:14 (AMP) 14  But thanks be to God, Who in Christ always leads us in triumph [as trophies of Christ’s victory] and through us spreads and makes evident the fragrance of the knowledge of God everywhere,

Don’t Let Misinterpretation Keep You from the Truth!

Have you ever been in a situation where your actions or words were negatively misinterpreted ? Most of us have been there and it’s not a pretty place to be. So, what happened? Why was the misinterpretation allowed to run rampant and create ill feelings?

Let’s talk about what misinterpretation is. It means to misunderstand what is being said or done. A synonym is to misjudge and that means to make a judgment before all the facts are in. And that leads to misinterpretation. As someone once said, jumping to conclusions is the only exercise some people get!

So, how do we get around this? A lot of hurt feelings can be avoided if we take the time to get all the facts before letting our emotions run ahead of us.

I recall a time I was with a group of Christians and we were discussing the scriptures. A statement came up that I disagreed with because it was contrary to God’s Word. When I stated my disagreement, I used the Word to show what God had to say about it.

Now, you’d think everyone would have been delighted that I pointed out the truth of God’s Word to enlighten them but not so! They didn’t agree with what God said, nor with what I said. Instead, they chose to keep their misinterpretation of the Word and believe the way they always believed – right or wrong!

Jesus said that if you continue in His Word, you would know the truth and the truth would make you free.

John 8:31-32 (KJV) 31  Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
32  And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

You see, it’s only the truth that you know and walk in that will make you free. And if you’re a disciple of Jesus, you should want to know His truth – His Word.

Misinterpreting something will keep you in bondage because it conceals the truth. And without the truth of God’s Word, you can’t be set free!

God’s Word is our guide to lead us along the right path. Every Word of God has enough inherent power (dunamis) to cause itself to come to pass. Our part is to believe it, speak it in faith, and reap the results!

Praise the Lord for His magnificent gift to us!

Psalm 119:105 (KJV) 105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Isaiah 55:11 (KJV) 11  So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
1 John 5:14-15 (KJV) 14  And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
15  And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

Is Your Comfort Zone Keeping You from Growing?

Just what is a comfort zone? It’s where you normally operate and what you’re used to. It doesn’t mean it’s the right place to be or even the truth. You might have been doing the wrong thing for years and years and it feels comfortable because that’s the way you’ve always done it. But how’s it working for you? Are you getting your desired results? Or are you still struggling?

As you know, God has placed people in the Church – at large – to lead and guide the sheep. But in addition to that, each individual person has a part to play as a member of the body of Christ. We’re all “teachers” by our lifestyle and what we believe. But, here’s where the problem lies: is the life we live teaching the truth or is it teaching man-made traditions that actually bind people instead for setting them free?

Are we so set in our ways that when the truth confronts us, we turn a deaf ear because it would necessitate change? And we know how most of us feel about change!

When someone disagrees with your traditions – the way you’ve always believed – what do you do? Do you check it out or just keep believing the wrong thing because that’s your comfort zone and you’ve always believed it that way even though it’s contrary to God’s Word? This can be life-threatening because the Word of God is medicine to all your flesh and it’s life-giving.

My point is that if you’re not willing to leave your comfort zone and even check out something that contradicts your way of thinking, how on earth are you ever going to know the difference between what’s true and what’s a lie? That’s one of the tricks of the devil – to keep people ignorant of God’s Word.

Hosea 4:6a (KJV) 6  My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge

(This is a lack of knowledge of God’s Word.)

Proverbs 4:20-22 (AMP) 20  My son, attend to my words; consent and submit to my sayings.
21  Let them not depart from your sight; keep them in the center of your heart.
22  For they are life to those who find them, healing and health to all their flesh.

Don’t be pig-headed! We don’t know everything and we’ll never know everything this side of Heaven. So let’s keep studying God’s Word and let the Holy Spirit teach us so that we can truly live a life worth living!

Ephesians 6:11 (AMP)
11  Put on God’s whole armor [the armor of a heavy-armed soldier which God supplies], that you may be able successfully to stand up against [all] the strategies and the deceits of the devil.

How Do You Know IF God Hears Your Prayers?

When we pray, do we really know if God hears us? Of course, you might say that God hears everything all the time but I’m not talking about just the sound of our prayers.

Have you ever been in a conversation with someone and your mind drifted? You heard them talking but it didn’t register with you because you were somewhere else? That’s what I’m talking about when I ask if God hears our prayers.

Let’s look at some scriptures:

1 Peter 3:12a (KJV) 12  For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers:

As you can see, the eyes and ears of God are over the righteous and He hears them. So, who are the righteous? That’s everyone who’s been born-again. How cool is that!

If we’ve been born-again, God is listening to us when we pray. So, why don’t we always see the answer to our prayers?

That brings me to the next scripture:

1 John 5:14-15 (KJV) 14  And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
15  And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

In order to get our prayers answered, we must pray according to God’s will. What is God’s will? It’s His Word. And when we pray in faith according to His Word, we can have confidence that our prayers will be answered and we’ll get our desired results, if we don’t hinder or obstruct the answer by doubt, unbelief, strife, unforgiveness, etc. God always sends the answer but we have our part to receive it.

This is so awesome! Where else can we have such confidence? Not on this planet! But, hold on – faith is the law of change. So, if you want to see change in your circumstances, this is the way to go. God has a solution for everything that confronts us. But if we don’t know that, we will remain ignorant of the very answers we need. And those answers are in God’s Word!

What a blessed people we are to have instant access to God’s Word via all kinds of technology, and get this, even in real book form!

1 John 5:4 (KJV) 4  For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

Is Pride Keeping You from Being Healed?

Is your pride standing in the way of receiving your healing from God? I know this might sound like an odd question, but it might be the answer to why you haven’t seen your healing manifested.

So, what do I mean? For quite some time I have been puzzled as to why Christians who love the Lord won’t believe that it’s God’s will to heal everyone, every time, anywhere, any time. And I think I have an answer.

People who have a sickness, disease, or some other kind of problem for a long period of time seem to identify with the problem – that’s who they are: a diabetic, a cancer patient, an alcoholic, etc. but, that’s not what God’s Word says. Yes, you might be battling those things, but that’s not who you are. You’re a child of the Most High God, blessed coming in, blessed going out, the head and not the tail, above and not beneath.

But that’s not the answer to my question. Many people with long-term illnesses have prayed and prayed and gotten no results. Then when someone like me comes along and tells them that it’s God’s will for them to be healed, they have two choices: believe and receive or admit that they have been wrong all along, which they don’t want to do – and that’s pride.

We humans don’t like to admit that we’re wrong. We like to think we know a lot more than we know – and that’s pride too. How are you ever going to learn anything if you think you already know everything?

I like to say it this way: is what you’re doing working for you? Are you getting the desired results you want when you pray? Are you praying in faith according to God’s will?

Romans 14:23b (KJV) 23  … for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

1 John 5:14-15 (KJV) 14  And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
15  And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

John 16:23 (KJV) 23  And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.

God wants you well. He’s not testing you by your illness. If you really thought there was some redeeming value in your suffering, why do you go to the doctor to get well? If you think this is a test from God, why are you taking medicine to get well? Do you see how silly this sounds?

It’s simple and easy. It’s not hard because if it were hard, we couldn’t do it. After all, we’re His sheep and you know how smart sheep are!

We need to get back to the drawing board and look at what God has to say about healing and get healed! We can be a whole lot more effective for God if we’re well instead of sick.

God is on our side. Let’s get on His side and get the results we desire!

Are You WAITING on God or is He Waiting on You?

You’ve heard it, I’ve heard it: when you pray, there’s a time factor as to when the answer comes! BUT – is that what God says in His Word?

Let’s look at some scriptures:

2 Chronicles 16:9a (KJV) 9  For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.
Jeremiah 1:12 (AMP) 12  Then said the Lord to me, You have seen well, for I am alert and active, watching over My word to perform it.

1 John 5:14-15 (KJV) 14  And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
15  And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

God wants to show Himself strong on our behalf – those who are committed to Him. In other words, God wants to show off to us!

However, many Christians are content to just wait on God! What that means is that they don’t really expect an answer to their prayers and they need some excuse as to why they don’t have the answer.

Let’s look at salvation. Is there a time factor to when you hear the Word of salvation and accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior and really getting saved? No, of course not. Why? Because it’s a done deal. Jesus already paid the price for your salvation and now you just have to receive it – instantly!

Next, let’s take healing and see how the time factor fits in. Can you expect instant results when you pray for healing? Yes! But do you always get it? No! Why?

First of all, healing is a done deal, the same as salvation, because Jesus bought it at the same time.

1 Peter 2:24 (KJV) 24  Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

However, we don’t always see instant manifestation for a number of reasons.

Mark 16:18 (KJV) 18  They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

There can be a recovery period and that takes time. It doesn’t have to be a long time. And even though it might not look like you’re healed, remember healing comes from the inside out – just like the fig tree that dried up at the roots. It wasn’t noticeable until the next day [Mark 11:12-14, 20-21].

But more than that, I believe that much of the time it is the receiver’s fault that holds up the healing manifestation. Many people don’t really believe for instant manifestation because they have been programmed by tradition to believe that it’s not always God’s will to heal every time. That will definitely hinder your healing!

Then there’s finances. And yes, here is where the time factor applies because it’s not just the pray-er who’s involved but other people. And that can take time.

Summing it all up, yes there can be a time factor involved in getting your prayers answered but not for the promises that God has already given – salvation, healing, protection, good health, etc. But when other people are involved in your answer, there can be a time factor. Don’t confuse the two or you will be hopelessly confused when you pray!

Pray God’s promises in faith and expect His power to manifest!

2 Corinthians 1:20 (KJV) 20  For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
2 Peter 1:3 (KJV) 3  According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

1 John 5:14-15 (KJV) 14  And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
15  And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
