Bandaids & Flat Tires

Matthew 15:13 (KJV) 13  But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.

Have you ever experienced driving on a flat tire? It’s not easy and feels so-o-o uncomfortable. Or, have you ever had a cut and put a bandaid on it to keep it clean? The bandaid doesn’t actually heal, but just keeps the cut clean. I think everyone knows what I’m talking about even if you never had a flat tire.

The point I want to make is the cut needs to be attended to and the flat needs to be fixed. Yes, you can drive with a flat tire, but it will hinder your journey and possibly damage your car. I think I’ve made my point.

But, just as flat tires are not effective in driving, so it is with obstacles and hindrances in our lives that hinder us from accomplishing what the Lord has for us. Bandaiding the problem does not solve it. You have to get at the root: dig it out and receive your healing.

Another example is when you dig dandelions or other unwanted weeds. If you just pull them out they’ll grow back. You have to dig out the roots if you want to get rid of the weeds. That’s how it is with issues in life. You have to attack the root cause and dig it out in order to be free.  And as I’ve said, bandaiding the problem won’t work for the long  term.

Let’s be more specific. If you’ve been praying about the promises of God and haven’t seen much success, what do you do? You need to seek the Lord about the hold-up. His promises are always YES. So, why aren’t you seeing the manifestation of the promises? There’s something clogging your pipeline and you need to get rid of it in order to free up the promise to get through to you. It’s not God withholding. It’s something blocking it.

Many times the problem is STRIFE! Strife is a promise killer and will even destroy you and those around you if you let it. Not only that, strife is a faith killer and without faith, you can’t connect to God and His promises. You can’t bandaid the strife and expect godly results. It won’t work. it takes major surgery!

So, what do you do? Repent of the strife, resist it in the Name of Jesus, and root it out of your life. Stand on the promise that what God has not planted shall be rooted out (Matt. 15:13). Take your stand, keep enforcing strife’s defeat, and watch the promises come to pass in your life.

2 Corinthians 1:20 (KJV) 20  For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

Hebrews 11:6 (KJV) 6  But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

James 3:16 (KJV)
16  For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
Romans 12:18 (KJV)
18  If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
