What are You Worshipping?

If you were to ask any Christian what they worship, they would say that they worship God. Yes, that may be so but what else are they worshipping?

The unsaved world worships celebrities, famous people, money, their job, their things, and a myriad of other things. They honor and hold in high esteem these people and things and, sadly, this had crept into the Church. Worship that is reserved for God alone has been misguided and deceived many sincere and well-meaning Christians.

We can understand how the world worships things other than God, but it ought to be so among the Church. We cannot afford to let our worship and honor get misguided and fixed on the wrong things. Some even put their families before God! And therein lies the answer to why many things don’t work out for us.

God’s Word is very specific in that He has commanded that we have no other gods before Him. Our jobs, our money, our families cannot be number one. God is number One and there is only one place for number One and it’s for Him.

Too many times, we get so busy with our everyday lives that we, whether on purpose or ignorantly, put God on the back burner. If we have time for Him in our busy day, then okay but if not, then we push Him off to another time and day.

In Matthew 6:33 Jesus tells us to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all our necessities will be added to us.

Let’s make some adjustments and put God back in the number one place and watch things change. You’ll find that you even get more accomplished when you spend time with your Heavenly Father at the beginning of the day!

Exodus 20:3 (KJV) 3  Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

Matthew 6:31-33 (KJV) 31  Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32  (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33  But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
