Are You Enjoying Your Life or Just Muddling Through?

1 Peter 3:10 (KJV) 10  For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:
Psalm 34:12-13 (KJV) 12  What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?
13  Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.

James 1:19 (KJV) 19  Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

Proverbs 18:21 (KJV) 21  Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

As I’ve said many times, the words we speak are very powerful and affect every area of our lives. They can bless or they can curse. We can speak loving things or we can speak evil things. It’s all done with words.

Peter tells is that if we want to enjoy our lives, we need to watch the words we speak. Evil words hurt, trap, and trick people into believing the wrong things. Speaking guile is just as bad –evil and deceptive.

It’s not only speaking bad, nasty things that count as evil. Speaking contrary to God’s Word is evil. Calling evil good and good evil is really evil!

Isaiah 5:20 (KJV) 20  Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Disagreeing with God’s Word or acting contrary to His Word is evil and will negatively affect your life. For example: the Word says that by the stripes of Jesus we’ve already been healed. Jesus paid the price for our total healing, yet many Christians don’t believe that God still heals today and even speak against it! How smart it that?

There are those who say and even preach that God doesn’t want us to prosper financially, yet the Bible is replete with prosperity scriptures saying just the opposite. Not a smart idea to disagree with God!

Let’s get back on track and believe that God is not a liar and that what He promised in His Word, He means! If we would do this, our lives would be much better, we’d be much happier, and the heathen would actually sit up and take notice that we serve a Good God!

1 Peter 2:24 (KJV)
24  Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
3 John 1:2 (KJV)
2  Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
Numbers 23:19 (KJV)
19  God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
