One of the major lessons we’ve learned in the midst of the current virus pandemic is that man is not his own answer. In fact, the truth is that man (mankind) cannot adequately solve his own problems. Let’s look at a few.
Man, I’m referring to all of mankind, cannot be his own god. He cannot be his own provider, healer, protector, or deliverer. And He can’t save himself from going to hell. Man needs God! It’s all very clear as you ponder and meditate on all the needs of mankind. We are a very needy group!
So what does it take for man to recognize all this and acknowledge that he needs God? That’s a good question. My short answer is that he needs to humble himself. In other words, come to the end of himself and admit that he just doesn’t have all the answers and the ones he does have are very limiting.
Take the current world-wide crisis. People are running to and fro to find therapeutics to treat the virus and people are dying. What ever happened to trusting and believing in God’s healing power? It worked in years past and still works today but we’ve been so brain-washed that the modern thing to do is to trust the medical profession for your healing. Well, how’s that working?
Of course, there are natural, temporary solutions to a lot that’s happening all around us but that only exposes the fear of what will happen when the temporary solution runs its course and no longer works. It’s really following the devil around and cleaning up after him. We need to be on the offense and nip it, nip it, nip it before it gets a toe-hold!
If we (mankind) were honest we’d humble ourselves and admit that we need more than what the natural realm has to offer. We need supernatural help and that comes from God – the Source of all we need or ever will need.
How comforting it is to know that we serve a God Who deeply loves and cares for us better than we could ever think, know, or imagine. How awesome is that!
Brothers and sisters, it’s imperative that we learn how to lean on the Lord to sustain us in every situation because we’re headed into perilous times – more than we’ve already seen. But, God is not surprised or moved by this. He’s already prepared us in His Word and equipped us for everything we’ll face. Let’s keep our eyes on Him and trust Him with our very lives because He’s faithful, faithful, faithful!
Numbers 23:19 (KJV) 19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
2 Peter 3:9 (KJV)
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
2 Timothy 1:12 (KJV) 12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
1 Peter 4:19 (KJV) 19 Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.
