Is Fear Destroying Your Freedom?

This has been a horrific past few months during which we, as civilized Americans, watched as our inalienable rights were eroded right out from under us. The list is long: lockdowns, closed and churches, mandatory wearing of masks, no visitations to nursing homes, or even visiting family members! The restrictions were outrageous and made you wonder what was really behind them. All of this was done to somehow mitigate the virus but as you know now, that didn’t work so well.

Even so, with all the available knowledge at the time, extreme measures were taken for the safety of the people. However, things have now changed. So why are the restrictions still in place? Is it because of inordinate power and control replacing common sense and reason?

My concern is that even when all the restrictions are lifted, people will still respond in fear – corona-phobia, as it’s being called, why is that?

According to the Word of God, fear puts people in bondage and even paralyzes them to the point that they can’t even make rational decisions. I have seen this first hand and it’s really scary.

I’m also seeing this occur in my community as the restrictions are being lifted. And even though the virus is attenuating, people are so fearful of getting it that they still shelter-in-place, wear masks, and area fearful of resuming their normal lives.

Brothers and sisters, we need to see fear for what it is – the opposite of faith. It’s not from God and He didn’t author it. It’s the weapon of satan meant to disarm everyone it contacts. We must not succumb to the devil’s fear!

We are overcomers and children of the Most High God. We have all the weapons it takes to overcome: the Name of Jesus, the Blood of Jesus, the Holy Spirit, the angels, our spiritual armor, and the whole Word of God!

Let’s go for it!

2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV) 7  For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Hebrews 2:15 (KJV) 15  And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
John 8:31-32 (KJV) 31  Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
32  And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

John 8:36 (KJV) 36  If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
Isaiah 54:17a (KJV) 17  No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn.
Ephesians 6:13-16 (KJV) 13  Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14  Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15  And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16  Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
