Are there really things God can’t do? Wait a minute – I thought God can do anything and everything – right? Wrong!
Yes, technically God can do anything He wants to do but He’s set things up where He’s limited Himself in what He will and will not do. It’s spiritual law.
As for the two things I’m referring to in the title of this blog, here’s what we can’t ask God to do because He won’t do it:
1 – Asking God to do what He’s already done and
2 – Asking God to do what He’s told us to do!
Wow, these are huge statements! Let’s dig a little further. God can’t answer prayers asking Him to do what He’s already done. Examples would be asking Him to save you or someone else because He’s already provided salvation for everyone; their part is to receive it. Jesus paid the price and now all we have to do is to receive what’s already been provided for us. Sad to say, most of the planet has chosen not to receive God’s gift of salvation and by default, they’ve chosen to go to hell. This is most heart-wrenching to those of us who have to watch this happen.
It’s the same things with healing. It was provided for us in Jesus’ atonement; our part is to receive what’s already been provided. [I have many blogs on healing. Please avail yourself of them.]
Secondly, God won’t do what He’s told us to do. He’s given us authority to take dominion over this earth and to rebuke the devil and all his evil ways. This is our part. We can’t ask God to do it because He’s given us the command and authority to do it with His power.
Brothers and sisters, there are things to be done here on earth that won’t get done if we don’t take our rightful place and do what God has told us to do. Jesus used healings, miracles, signs, and wonders to get people’s attention and that’s what we’re to do and then tell them about Jesus.
We’re to be the glorious church of the Lord Jesus Christ. Let’s starting doing what we’re to do and show the world Who our God is!
Ephesians 5:27 (KJV) 27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
1 Peter 2:24 (KJV) 24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
Isaiah 53:5(KJV) 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
John 14:12 (KJV) 12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Matthew 10:8 (KJV) 8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
1 Corinthians 2:4 (KJV) 4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
Mark 16:17-18 (KJV) 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
Genesis 1:26 (KJV) 26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
1 Peter 5:8-9 (KJV) 8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
James 4:7 (KJV) 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Ephesians 4:27 (KJV) 27 Neither give place to the devil.
