Are You Using Your Operator’s Manual?

Everybody knows (except the stubborn ones) that if you want to operate your new product – appliance, car, washer, computer, etc., you need to read the manufacturer’s instructions – the manual. Yes we know that, so what’s the point? Well, here goes:

In my limited observation, I have found that the ones who balk the loudest and refute the Bible, are the very ones who haven’t even read what God has said. And if they did, they throw it out in place of their experience or what some naysayer has said.

What’s wrong with this picture? Well, let me see – hm-m-m—how many ways can I say this: God’s Word is the Manufacturer’s Handbook and if you want to know how to operate in the things of God, you have to read it!!! I think that’s as clear as I can be.

The first and foremost explanation for this wrong thinking is that those people have not given God’s Word the #1 spot that it needs to have. His Word has to be the bottom line, the benchmark, the final authority from which everything we do, hear, or think is measured. When that’s the case, everything else falls into place.

Since I teach a lot on divine healing, let me use that as an example. God’s Word says that by the stripes of Jesus we’ve already been healed. It was bought and paid for at the same time our sins were washed away [I Pet. 2:24]. Not only do the naysayers disregard this biblical fact but they even go a step further and say that it’s not always God’s will to heal and you never know what God will do! Hog wash! You always know what God will do because He will always do what He has said in His Word! But you have to actually read it to find out!

All of that unbelief just shows that they don’t really know what God has already said, and thus they can’t really benefit from it.

Brothers and sisters, the devil’s biggest weapon against us is deception. If he can keep us in the dark about what God has said in His Word, then he has an inroad into our lives to clobber us and keep us from God’s blessings.

We need to have a love of God’s Word and study it diligently to arm ourselves with the spiritual weapons He has provided for us. This is true in every area of our lives: healing, deliverance, prosperity, peace, joy, love, etc. If we don’t know what we have, we can’t operate in it and walk in the victory the Lord Jesus bought and paid for – for us!
