Here’s a sobering thought: your words carry more weight with you than anyone else’s, even God’s! Hold on, I’m going to explain this.
In order to get saved, you must believe in your heart and say with your mouth that Jesus died for your sins, that He went to hell and paid the penalty for those sins, that God raised Him from the dead and He now sits at the right hand of the Father in Heaven. That’s the salvation message according to Romans 10:9-10.
How do we know this? Because God has said it in His Word. And God’s Word is unequivocally true beyond measure, right? But, with your own words you can choose to reject this truth and not get saved. And there you have it. Even though it’s God’s desire for all to get saved, your words of acceptance or rejection of Jesus carry more weight with you than God’s eternal truth.
You see, because we are speaking spirits, and we’re made in the image of God, we can choose our words and therefore choose what we will or won’t believe. That’s how God set it up. We’re not puppets controlled by God. We have a choice in everything we do – to do it God’s way or our way which, many times is the devil’s way.
Brothers and sisters, we are so blessed to be able to speak forth the promises of God and see the manifestation of His promises in our lives. But the first thing we need to do is to find out what the promises are and then get them into our hearts in abundance so that they will come out with the dunamis power of God and effect a change in our circumstances the way God set it up to work.
We need to realize that just as God’s Words have power, our words have power. We need to use those words for good and not evil. Every word we speak is either filled with faith – love, joy, peace, etc. or they’re filled with fear – anxiety, depression, defeat, hatred, strife, etc. We need to choose wisely because our very lives depend on it.
