Reality or Smoking Mirrors?

Can you say that you’re better off today than a year ago? 5 years ago? If you aren’t better off, why is that?

Are you just going through the motions and hoping all will be okay? If you were accused of being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you? If you’re no better off than the unsaved, that ought not to be. Unfortunately, it’s true about many Christians that, from a glance, you couldn’t tell the difference between them and their unsaved neighbors. They’re just as sick, depressed, and in debt as those around them. What’s the problem?

First of all, it is definitely not the will of God to be poor, sick, depressed and a sorry mess. That’s the devil’s plans for all mankind. So, what has happened?

Let’s go back to the beginning when you first got saved. Things were so sweet and your love affair with the Lord was at its peak. But after the honeymoon, you came “back to earth” and the reality of life stared you in the face.

However, if you took your salvation seriously, you continued in God’s Word: studying, growing, and maturing in the things of God. Then when problems arose, you attacked them with the Word and stood your ground against the devil and his plans to rob your faith. Then when you looked back over the previous years you saw how you’ve grown.

However, if along the way, you let the problems of life overtake you and crowd out God’s way of doing things, you now find yourself no better off than the heathen except that you’re saved. And saved you are. Thank the Lord for that but what kind of testimony do you have that will cause people to want what you have? They already have nothing, can do nothing that works, and they’re depressed over it!

We need to be beacons of light, announcing to the world that God’s ways are a lot better than theirs. God’s plans for us are far better than we can think, know, or imagine and we are fully able to walk in them.

Yes, it takes effort to walk in God’s ways as does everything that’s worth doing and having. But we have supernatural help and that will put us over.

Let’s get back to God’s Word and follow His plans and walk in victory!

Revelation 2:4 (KJV) 4  Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
Romans 2:4 (KJV) 4  Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV) 15  Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Hebrews 12:1b (KJV)  … let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

Hung by the Tongue

Open mouth, insert foot! How many times have we done that and then prayed for a “do-over”?

Ecclesiastes 5:2 (KJV) 2  Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few.
Ecclesiastes 5:6 (KJV) 6  Suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin; neither say thou before the angel, that it was an error: wherefore should God be angry at thy voice, and destroy the work of thine hands?
Proverbs 10:19 (KJV) 19  In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.

Matthew 12:37 (KJV) 37  For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

Here we see that we are to be ever mindful of the words we speak because what we say is what we get and by our words we shall be justified or condemned.

You see, it’s not God’s will that bad things happen to us or that we fail to achieve our desired results. A lot of it is self-inflicted! We have spoken our own doom. Yes, what we say – in prayer and out of prayer in our daily lives – affects everything we do. We write our own ticket!

Now, for those who don’t subscribe to the “you can have what you say” message, let me tell you that it’s already happening for you. Those who say “nothing ever works out for me” are getting exactly what they’re saying. Granted, just because you say something one time, doesn’t mean it will happen instantly. It’s what you say with your mouth and believe in your heart over a period of time is what you’ll get. And remember that faith comes by hearing—whether good or bad. If you say negative things long enough, you’ll believe it in your heart and you’ll get it. BUT, it works on the positive side too. And that’s the good side!

Many times we see this occur more rapidly on the negative side than on the positive side. The reason for this is because some people are more developed in the negative than the positive – so negative things happen faster.

Getting back to the “foot in your mouth,” we need to diligently watch the words that come out of our mouths. Remember, as I’ve said in past blogs, our angels are listening intensely to what we say. If we speak in line with God’s Word, they have something to move on.

However, if we speak contrary to God’s Word, we bind our angels from helping us because they won’t go against what we say. They don’t make decisions about whether or not what we say is good or harmful. They listen and believe that what we say is what we want. If it agrees with God’s Word, then they have an assignment to see it come to pass. If it’s contrary to God’s Word, they don’t cause it to happen. Then just don’t stop it. They let us have what we say. We are the ones who control what happens to us – by our words.

A good rule of thumb is to never, never say what you don’t want to happen, particularly with your children. Don’t prophesy doom over them like: if you play in the street, you’ll get hit by a car or you never do the right thing, etc. Speak blessings over them and watch them grow!

Matthew 12:34 (KJV) 34  O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

What we have put in our hearts in abundance is what will come out – good or bad. If it’s God’s Word, it’ll come out with power and affect things around you for good. But, it must be in your heart in abundance. If fear is in your heart in abundance, that’s what will come out in your speech and negatively affect things around you.

Let’s purpose in our hearts to feed on God’s Word so we’re overflowing with it and ready to do great exploits for the Lord!

Mark 11:23-24 (KJV) 23  For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24  Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

The Law of Faith

As you well know, there are many laws of the land that we are required to obey if we don’t want to pay the consequences. And most laws, if they’re made by godly legislators, are for the good of the people and we should obey them. However, many don’t obey and they pay the consequences.

Then there are laws that, after they’ve been in place for a set time, are discontinued ore superseded by higher law. We’ve seen that happen over the decades in the US. For example, the old law demanded that we stop at the red light and wait for the green light before proceeding. Then the law change so that we can now make a “right turn on red”.

It used to be that murder was wrong and a federal crime but the law changed and now the law allows the killing of unborn babies! How demonic and yet many rejoice at their right to kill their babies! This ought not to be but the devil is still doing all he can to thwart the plan of God in the earth.

However, there is a law that has not, cannot, and will not change for all eternity and that’s the Law of Faith. God is a faith God and everything He does is by faith and everything He does is forever! What a blessing to know that God’s faith is something we can stand on and rely on, no matter what the circumstances are.

There’s nobody on the face of this earth who can be all that we need for them to be. Our only hope is in the Living God and He is reliable and faithful to the uttermost!

Now, getting back to the law of faith, we know that natural laws are set and don’t change unless superseded by higher laws. For example, in the law of gravity we can drop something from a height and it will fall to the ground. Plus, the law of gravity is what keeps us on the ground instead of floating all over the place.

But, when higher laws come into play, like the laws of lift and thrust, an airplane can override gravity and fly upward. So it is with the law of faith. Faith can override things in the natural realm and cause miracles to happen: blind eyes open, deaf ears open, and even the raising of the dead!

But, the law of faith is not just for miracles. It is to be used in our everyday life. We are to walk by faith and not by sight [II Corinthians 5:7]. That means we are to order our lives according to God’s Word not according to the world’s ways. Our first course of action in whatever we do should be, “What does God’s Word say?” If we would do that, we’d save ourselves a lot of heartache.

God always has the answer to every problem we face in life and His Word always works. But, we have our part to do. God will not do our part and we cannot do His part but working together, we can get the job done to the glory of God!

Remember, faith is a law. It doesn’t change and will work every time we put it to work!

Hebrews 11:3 (KJV) 3  Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
2 Corinthians 5:7 (KJV) 7  (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
Romans 14:23b (KJV) 23 … for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

Storms of Life

Have you ever had a situation or circumstance in your life when it made you feel helpless and overwhelmed? I think we’ve all had similar situations arise. BUT, guess what? God hadn’t changed and He never will! Aren’t you so glad that God isn’t moved by circumstances?

You see, no matter what we are going through, God hasn’t changed! He is still the same – yesterday, today, and forever. However, we are the ones who view our present circumstances in light of our emotions. And that is not a good thing.

Nowhere in the Bible do you find that we are to govern ourselves by our emotions. We are to look to God and His Word – His promises – to determine what we shall do. He has the prefect map for us to follow and if we will follow it, we’ll have good success.

When challenging situations arise, go to the Word and find out what God has to say and then get on that Word and don’t quit ’til you get the desired results!

Too many times when people come up against a difficult situation, their first reaction is the same as the world’s reaction. And we know that their reactions are not founded on the Word of God.

Let me give you an example of what I’m talking about. If the weather report comes across your TV saying that in impending storm is on the way, what should you do?

The first thing I do is to confess God’s Word:

Isaiah 54:17 (KJV) 17  No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.
Psalm 91:10-11 (KJV) 10  There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11  For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

Of course, I confess these scriptures, in faith, daily but even more when danger is imminent. That way I can have peace during the storm and focus on what I’m to do, not what the weather is doing.

I know that this can seem simplistic but it really works. Let me remind you that whatever you do must be done in faith or it won’t work. Scared prayers don’t work. In fact, scared prayers actually open the door for the enemy to come in and really mess things up.

So, here’s the bottom line: don’t wait for the bad circumstances to come before you start confessing God’s Word. Get into the Word and build up your arsenal of Word power soa that when situations arise, that’s what will come out of your heart and mouth.

Hebrews 13:8 (KJV) 8  Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

Joshua 1:8 (KJV) 8  This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
Joshua 1:8b (AMP)  … you shall deal wisely and have good success.

Trust the Equipment!

Are you hesitant to step out and do what God has called you to do? If so, why are you hesitant? Do you feel inadequate, afraid you might fail?

Too many times we are reluctant to do what God has put on our hearts because we’re afraid of failure. What if you pray for someone’s healing and they don’t see results? What if you share the Word of salvation and the person refuses to accept God’s free gift? How does that make you feel?

These things might be the obstacles in your way of fulfilling God’s plans for your life but they ought not to be! God is well able to equip you with all the tools you need to be successful. In fact, He’s already equipped you. You have His Word, the Holy Spirit, the faith of Jesus, the Blood of Jesus, and authority and power over all the power of the devil. You can’t lose if you trust in the equipment He’s already given you.

You’re not responsible for people’s decisions or for what they will receive. You’re responsible to do what God has told you to do. You’re a winner going where God leads you so you can be a blessing. Don’t let the devil talk you out of your blessing. God has great plans for each of us but, sadly, most people never come into the fullness of His plans for them. Let’s change that and do what God has called us to do and be blessed beyond measure!

2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV) 15  Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Hebrews 4:12 (KJV) 12  For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Psalm 119:105 (KJV) 105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Galatians 2:20 (KJV) 20  I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Hebrews 13:20-21 (KJV) 20  Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
21  Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

John 16:13 (KJV) 13  Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
Luke 10:19 (KJV)
19  Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Jeremiah 29:11 (AMP) 11  For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.

Does it Matter What You Believe?

Many people are of the opinion that “as long as you believe it, it’s ok or even if you don’t believe, it God understands!” This does not cut it! Yes, God understands but that doesn’t mean He agrees with you. It’s not about God understanding but on your doing what the Word tells you to do and that is to believe His Word with all your heart. What you believe can mean the difference between Heaven and hell and will affect your eternal destiny. You have to believe the right thing, if you want the right results!

A certain minister who had taken a group of Bible students on a missions trip, overheard one of them talking to a passerby. He was telling the person that it didn’t really matter what he believed but just to say the sinner’s prayer. Well, the minister stopped that right in its tracks and said that it certainly did matter what he believed in order to get saved!

Likewise, it really does matter what you believe if you’re going to walk in the promises of God and see them manifested in your life. You can’t half-heartedly believe the Word of God and expect to get His results. It doesn’t work that way.

Notice the following scriptures:

Romans 10:9-10 (KJV) 9  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Jesus tells us to believe in our hearts, confess with our mouths and believe that we receive when we pray. Then we’ll get the desired results. It matters what you believe.

Then there are those who say it doesn’t matter what you believe as long as you’re a good person and try to do the right thing. Where is that in the Bible? It isn’t but sadly many people are of that persuasion.

Let’s go in a little different direction. What do you believe about healing? Do you believe that God still heals today? Have you ever been sick and got healed? Well, Who do you think healed you? Even doctors report that they cannot heal. They only address the symptoms. The rest is up to God.

Have you ever had a cut and watched it heal? Who do you think made your body to heal like that? God, of course! So, we see that God still heals today but let’s take it a step further.

When sickness attaches itself to your body, is God the first One you go to or is it the doctor and the medical staff? Do you go to the doctor and then when you get an evil report, turn to God in desperation and plead for healing? This ought not so to be!

Nowhere in the Bible does God tell us that in the 21st century, healing will no longer be available to us from Him. Let’s look at Luke 4.

Luke 4:18 (KJV) 18  The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised …

Acts 10:38 (KJV) 38  How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

1 John 3:8b (KJV)  For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Notice that Jesus came to heal and destroy the works of the devil. And of course sickness is the work of the devil because if sickness were of God, then Jesus would have been in direct opposition to the Father’s will. It grieves me to hear that people think that God put sickness on them to teach them some redeeming lesson. Hopefully, you’re not one to those people.

If you believe that healing from God is not for us today, you’ll never be able to partake of His healing power in your life. Even those who don’t believe that healing is for us today will shoot up a prayer to ask God for healing! Isn’t that a little bit hypocritical?

Getting back to what you believe, it is important to believe the truth of God’s Word so that you can partake of His promises. But, all that being said, you still have to believe by faith, trusting that what God has said in His Word is true and then acting on it in faith. That’s when you see manifestations of His promises come to fruition in your life!

Little is Much When God is in it!

Matthew 14:14-21 (KJV) 14  And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.
15  And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals.
16  But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat.
17  And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes.
18   He said, Bring them hither to me.
19  And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
20  And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full.
21  And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children.

The supernatural should be more real to us than the natural realm because the spirit realm is the parent force that created the natural realm.

When Jesus mentioned the food situation to the disciples, they only thought of the natural solution, which wouldn’t work anyway. But once they turned what they had over to Jesus, He multiplied it and solved the problem.

When we have a financial need, it’s because we don’t have enough resources to accomplish what we need to do: pay bills, buy something, help someone, etc. So what should we do?

Instead of eating the little bit of seed that you have, plant it so that Jesus can multiply it. The five loaves and two fish that the little boy had were not enough to feed the multitude of people that were there. BUT, when it go into hands of Jesus, He could multiply it and feed thousands!

You might be believing for a bigger apartment, a new house, or a new car but financially, it’s not possible at this time. Take some seed and help someone else get their house, pay off their mortgage, buy a car, etc. When you do that, God can speak to someone to help you the same way He spoke to you to help someone else.

Luke 6:38 (KJV)
38  Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

Jesus tells us to give first and then it shall be given to us – good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over shall men give unto us. How many of you would really like to have “running over” return on your giving?

Let’s give where God directs and watch Him bless the works of our hands!

Deuteronomy 28:8, 12 (KJV) 8  The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
12  The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.

Kept & Protected by the Power of God Through Faith

1 Peter 1:5 (KJV) 5  Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Have you ever thought, “Why did that happen to him/her? I thought they really loved God.”

Well, those questions have been asked by many people over the decades but the real question is, “Why weren’t they protected?”

Yes, God loves us and He wants His best for each of us, so what’s the deal? Let’s look at the opening scripture again. Notice that it says we’re kept by the power of God through faith. It doesn’t say we’re kept by God’s power based on our love for Him or even His love for us. It also doesn’t say we’re kept by His power based on all our good works. We’re kept by God’s power through faith! And even though that might seem too simplistic, it’s true nonetheless.

So, just how are we kept through faith? Good question.

First of all, in order for any of God’s promises to manifest in our lives, we have to believe that the promises are for us and that God indeed wants us to have them. But, just desiring the promises doesn’t get them. Desire isn’t faith and neither is love. Faith is believing God’s Word and acting on it – our positive response to what God has already given by His grace.

So, how do we active His promise of divine protection through His power [I Peter 1:5]? We access that power by using our faith to draw it unto ourselves. We have to draw on God’s Word and stand firm, believing that what He has promised us it true.

One of the ways to activate our faith in God’s promises is confession of the Word. Find scriptures pertaining to your protection and confess them daily. Confession of His Word causes faith to come and builds a confidence in you that the promises will actually work for you. Confession also puts your angels to work to cause the Word you’re speaking to come to pass in your life. [See my blog – 1/21/19.]

Isaiah 54:17 (KJV) 17  No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.
Psalm 91:11-12 (KJV) 11  For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
12  They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

These are two scriptures I confess daily plus pleading the Blood of Jesus over my life and my family for protection.

God has always had a solution for any problem that arises but the solutions don’t automatically come to pass unless we use our faith to activate them.

God’s Word always works but we have our part to do. God won’t do our part – the believing and receiving. And we can’t do His part – the giving!

Let’s determine to use our faith and see astounding results!

Pamela

Your Angels are Listening but are They Hearkening?

Hebrews 1:14 (KJV) 14  Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

Exodus 23:20-21 (KJV) 20  Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared.
21  Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name is in him.

According to Hebrews 1:14, angels are ministering spirits sent by God to minister for us – the heirs of salvation. Their job is to protect us and move on the words we speak. They act on our words to cause the promises of God to come to pass. How can this be, you might ask. Well, let’s look into the Word and see what God has to say about His angels.

Psalm 103:20 (KJV) 20  Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.

Notice that our angels hearken to the voice of the Word of God. This means that they are standing by, listening intelligently to the words that we speak and when we speak God’s Word, that’s when they move to fulfill that Word and cause it to come to pass.

However, if we speak words that are contrary to God’s Word, like negative words, doubt and unbelief, strife words, etc., the angels don’t move. The just stand there while we go on and on in doubt and unbelief.

Notice in the opening scripture that if you provoke your angels by speaking words contrary to the Word of God, they cannot override your negative words. They will let you do all the dumb things you want and do nothing to stop you. And, it doesn’t even matter why you speak negatively – whether on purpose or ignorantly. That’s because they don’t make a judgment on your words; they only hearken to God’s Word.

Therefore, it is imperative that we pay attention to the words that come out of our mouths. Are we saying what we want to happen? Are we saying what we want to get? This is really important and can be the difference between life and death. Don’t speak what you don’t want to happen. Only speak words that line up with God’s Word and it will save you a lot of heartache and open the door to the blessings of God in your life.

Psalm 91:11-12 (KJV) 11  For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
12  They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

It’s Later than It’s Ever Been!

No matter who you ask, the consensus of opinion is that time is flying by. When we get to July, we wonder where the first half of the year went and before you know it, it’s Christmas, New Year’s Day, and we start all over.

So, why does it seem that things go by so fast? Is it just that we’re older and we see things differently than when we were young? These might all be a factor but the real truth is that, yes, time has actually speeded up and we are definitely headed toward the end of this age!

Even the unsaved can sense that the end is near. But we, as Christians, know it is. God said it in His Word and you can take that to the bank (Mark 13:7-9)!

So, knowing all this, what are we to do about it? Let’s check with God and what He has to say. In I Thessalonians 4:18, we are told to comfort one another with the fact that Jesus is coming soon. Yeah! But hasn’t that been preached for 2000 years? Yes, it has but you need to see what soon means on God’s time table.

II Peter 5:8 we see that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day. Therefore, 2000 years in God’s timing is only two days and two days is soon, no matter how you look at it.

In Luke 19:13 Jesus tells us to occupy ’til He comes back for us. But just what does this mean? It doesn’t mean that we are to be busy, busy, busy! Occupy means that we are to take the dominion that God has given us and overcome the evil in this world (Genesis 1:26, 28). Jesus is waiting for His enemies to be made His footstool (Matthew 22:44) and our part is to take our authority and overcome Satan, his cohort, and his evil workings (Mark 16:17; Luke 10:19).

No matter how you look at it, time is short and we have a limited time to get things done and fulfill the plans God has for our lives. Let’s go for it! Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus!

1 Thessalonians 4:14-18 (KJV) 14  For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15  For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16  For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Genesis 1:26 (KJV) 26  And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
Hebrews 1:13 (KJV) 13  But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?
