Is it Live or is it Memorex?

There’s a lot of talk these days about “fake news” and things being purported as true but are actually false and totally made up.

Today three journalist actually got caught in a fake news story and resigned from a national news network – CNN. We shouldn’t be surprise because God’s Word says that their sin will be exposed and things that are hidden will come out!

Numbers 32:23b (KJV) 23  … and be sure your sin will find you out.
Luke 12:2 (KJV) 2  For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.

Our president, Donald J. Trump, is doing his utmost to protect and help this country get going in the right direction and is faced with constant opposition! That ought not to be! [The fake news stories are against our president.]

So, moving right along, just as we don’t want to be fed fake news, we also don’t want to be guilty of having fake faith! What? Fake faith? What on earth is that? Read on.

Fake faith is faith that doesn’t work – faith that appears to be genuine: it sounds like real faith and even looks like real faith, but produces no results.  It’s like the saying, “Is it live or is it Memorex?”

Here’s the problem: When results don’t come, it destroys any true faith that was even there at the start. It discourages those involved and causes them to think that God’s Word doesn’t work and even that God has let them down. Nothing could be farther from the truth.

First of all, God’s Word always works and God never lets anyone down who’s moving in genuine faith. God is faithful, faithful, faithful!

So, just what is fake faith? It’s faith that comes out of your head – called mental assent. You believe the Word with your head but it hasn’t gotten into your heart where it can take root and produce results with power.

What “imitation” faith does is imitate those who are genuinely walking in faith. They try to pray and speak forth the same way as the real “faithers” but they don’t get the same results.

Another example of fake faith is when someone tries to believe out beyond their level of developed faith. Instead of just admitting they don’t have enough developed faith for a certain areas of belief, they just go ahead and start confessing way beyond their actual faith: instead of believing for $500 extra income, why not believe for $5000! They don’t have the faith for $5000 but they go ahead and “try to believe” for it. Then when it doesn’t happen, they get discouraged.

True faith takes time to develop. It takes study and meditation in God’s Word to get it from your head to your heart where it can take root and develop into strong faith. Then when you pray, it comes froth with power – the dunamis power of God!

We don’t need more faith. We all start out with the same lump. It just needs to be developed. We need to consistently study and meditate God’s Word to develop our faith so we get our desired results every time.

Romans 12:3b (KJV)   … according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

Hold on – In One Hour Things Can Change!

How many times have you been tempted to quit or give up on what you were believing for because it was taking too long for the results? Unfortunately, too many of us have done that and never attained our desired results.

Years ago, I heard a man of God give a testimony of just that – not giving up just because your answer didn’t come in your time frame. He said that he was getting weary from the “long” wait and was tempted to just quit and go on to something else. However, the Lord spoke to him and asked him how he would feel if in one hour things would have changed if he hadn’t quit? Well, needless to say, he didn’t quit and went on to get his desired results.

Over the years, I have spoken that word to myself and others and have been so grateful that I didn’t quit because my answer eventually came. BUT, had I listened to my flesh and given up because of weariness, I would have missed the glorious victory of answered prayer!

God tells us not to get weary and not to give up but to fight the good fight of faith. Faith is what overcomes the world and all the attacks of the enemy. If Satan can steal your faith, he’s got you right where he wants and you won’t get your answers.

God is faithful and when we pray in faith according to His Word, He hears and answers us. We need to exercise patience in our “waiting” period and let God do a perfect work in us.

1 John 5:4 (KJV) 4  For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
Galatians 6:9 (KJV) 9  And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Proverbs 16:3 (AMP) 3  Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and] so shall your plans be established and succeed.

1 Timothy 6:12 (KJV) 12  Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
1 John 5:14-15 (KJV) 14  And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: 15  And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

Psalm 121:3-4 (KJV) 3  He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. 4  Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

God doesn’t sleep or get weary. He’s always on the case. You can count on it!

Don’t Let Your Past Dictate Your Future!

Some people don’t need their enemies to beat them up because they do a good job of it themselves. How many times have we punished ourselves mentally because of our past mistakes? Too many, I’d say.

First of all, when we get born-again, all of our past is forgiven – wiped cleaned. Our sins are remitted which means that they are forever gone and forgotten by God.

Psalm 103:12 (KJV) 12  As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

Secondly, when we sin after we’re born-again, we confess our sins and God is just and righteous to forgive us by the Blood of Jesus.

1 John 1:7 (KJV) 7  But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

1 John 1:9 (KJV) 9  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
So, what’s our problem? It’s the devil who condemns us and tries to keep our past mistakes in the forefront of our minds. We need to recognize that it’s him and not blame God. God is not the One Who is telling us we’re so unworthy and such a failure. God is on our side and He’s rooting for us! We are His special treasure!

Malachi 3:17 (KJV)
17  And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him. [Margin says special treasure.]
Malachi 3:17 (AMP)

17  And they shall be Mine, says the Lord of hosts, in that day when I publicly recognize and openly declare them to be My jewels (My special possession, My peculiar treasure). And I will spare them, as a man spares his own son who serves him.

There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, the born-again ones. God doesn’t condemn you and He’s the One Who counts!

Romans 8:1 (KJV) 1  There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Romans 8:1 (AMP) 1  THEREFORE, [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live [and] walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit.

If you continue to let your past condemn you, you will hinder the plans and purposes God has for you. Everyone makes mistakes and misses it. You can’t live on planet earth without missing the goal sometime or other. The point is that you must confess the mistake, forgive yourself, and get back up and go forward. Why listen to the devil when he’s a liar and is out to steal, kill, and destroy? Jesus came to give you abundant life to enjoy. Enjoy it!

Proverbs 24:16a (KJV) 16  For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again …

John 10:10 (KJV) 10  The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Set Your Sails & Go for It!

Acts 27:40 (KJV) 40  And when they had taken up the anchors, they committed themselves unto the sea, and loosed the rudder bands, and hoised up the mainsail to the wind, and made toward shore.

There’s a saying in the world about not putting off ‘til tomorrow what you can do today. In other words, don’t procrastinate! How many times have we been guilty of procrastinating?

Imagine what we could get done if we didn’t procrastinate! Some things are insignificant but others are a matter of life and death. Sometimes it’s the anchors in our lives that hold us back. Things that weigh us down, keeping us from fulfilling the plans and purposes the Lord has for us. We need to get rid of the anchors and commit ourselves to getting the job done.

Salvation is one of those life and death things that we cannot procrastinate about. We have to make a decision for the Lord or we’re headed for destruction.

So, just what are these anchors and weights that weigh us down and hinder our walk with the Lord?

Luke 21:34 (KJV) 34  And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
Hebrews 12:1 (KJV) 1  Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

Surfeiting refers to overindulgence. It doesn’t necessarily mean evil, sinful things. It can mean spending too much time and energy on things that distract us from what we’re to be doing. For example: too much time on hobbies, sports, TV, etc. Excessive time spent on these things interferes with our time with the Lord.

Weights refers to similar things as surfeiting but can also include wrong attitudes and actions. These are things that weigh us down like a heavy load on our shoulders.

Sins are self-explanatory, doing things we shouldn’t be doing but also not doing the things we should be doing.

James 4:17 (KJV) 17  Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

The cares of this life refer to things in our everyday life that seem to burden us with worry and care. We need to trust the Lord to help us and roll that care onto Him. We were never meant to carry the “weight” of the world on our shoulders!

Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV) 5  Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Proverbs 16:3 (AMP) 3  Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and] so shall your plans be established and succeed.

So you see, there are a multitude of things that can hold us down and hinder our walk with the Lord. We need to de-clutter our lives so that we can have time to spend with Him. How else are we going to hear from Him if we’re so busy, busy, busy with the cares of this life? Actually, if we’d spend more time listening to the Holy Spirit’s leading and direction, we’d be so much better off and avoid a lot of heartache.

Purpose in your heart to de-clutter and spend quality time with your Lord and Savior, listening to the Holy Spirit’s leading and revelation and live the victorious life God has planned for you.

Love is Four-letter Word!

If you’ve been a Christian for any length of time, you know that God commands us to “love one another” as Jesus loves us. But how do we do that when so many people are so “unlovable”? We can’t do it in our natural flesh, as many try to do and fail. We need God’s empowerment to love the way He wants us to – to love with His love! Wow—that’s a mouthful!

John 13:34 (KJV) 34  A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

John 13:35 (KJV) 35  By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

The first thing we need to understand is that God’s love and human love are not the same thing. Human love is carnal, fleshy, sense ruled, touchy-feely, and changes at the drop of a hat! What we feel is what we do.

God’s love is not that way. He loves us the same way He loves Jesus. And He expects us to love others with the same love – His love.

John 17:23 (KJV) 23  I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

God would never, and I mean never, command us to do something we are incapable of doing. We can love the way He wants us to because His love has already been shed abroad in our hearts.

Romans 5:5b (KJV)  … because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

Let’s look at the great love chapter and find out what the God-kind of love is:

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (KJV) [Charity means love in this passage. It indicates a giving kind of love.]
4  Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

5  Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
6  Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
7  Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
8  Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

Now let’s look at the Amplified Bible rendition, which gives us a bit more insight:

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (AMP) 4  Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily.
5  It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God’s love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong].
6  It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail.
7  Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening].
8  Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end]. As for prophecy (the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose), it will be fulfilled and pass away; as for tongues, they will be destroyed and cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away [it will lose its value and be superseded by truth].

From these passages, we see that love has nothing to do with “touchy, feely” love. It has to do with how we act and how we treat others. We’re to be patient, kind, forgiving, merciful, rejoicing in others’ accomplishments, not envious or jealous. And not gossiping about each other! In other words, we’re looking out for the other person. And if everyone did that, we’d all be looking to bless one another and getting along. What a way to live!

Feelings: Can You Trust Them?

Feelings come and feelings go, but how significant are they? Do they really matter? Or should I ask, “Should they really matter to us?”

First of all, we all have feelings. That’s the way human beings are. But feelings are not the do-all, end-all of everything as some might think. Yes, they’re real and yes they seem to over-power us at times, but what should we do about them and how much credence should we give them? These are important questions and I will attempt to address them in light of God’s Word because His Word is our benchmark for all we do, right?

Let’s begin with the fact that we are tri-partite beings, made up of three parts: spirit, soul, and body. We are actually spirit beings, we have a soul – our mind, will, and emotions – and we live in a body – our “earth suit”.

Feelings are considered our flesh, our carnal selves. They are not spiritual and can never be spiritual. That’s what makes them so dangerous because they seem so real, yet have little, if any, bearing on reality. God’s Word is the true reality.

Feelings can be controlled and even taught to do the right thing, but they can never be depended upon to lead you spiritually. They are fickle, changing at the “drop of a hat”, and can scream louder than anyone cares to hear!

Hebrews 5:14 (KJV) 14  But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
Hebrews 5:14 (AMP) 14  But solid food is for full-grown men, for those whose senses and mental faculties are trained by practice to discriminate and distinguish between what is morally good and noble and what is evil and contrary either to divine or human law.

Even our minds can be renewed to the Word of God to do what He tells us. In fact, we must renew our minds if we’re going to grow in the Lord. We need our minds siding in with our spirits so that our flesh (feelings) just naturally goes along with doing the right thing.

Romans 12:2 (KJV) 2  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Ephesians 4:23 (KJV) 23  And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

On the other hand, if our mind is not renewed to the Word of God and His way of doing things, it will naturally side in with our flesh and two against one means our spirit will take a back seat. This is not a good thing.

So, what do we do? We cannot let our feelings lead us. Feelings are not the engine but the caboose. They will go along with whatever we choose to do by following the Word of God. Too many times, people let their feelings rule them, not knowing that they’re really playing right into the hands of the enemy.

God says that the carnal mind (the flesh) is enmity against God. When you’re in the flesh, you’re being led by your feelings. When you’re in the spirit, you’re being led by your spirit, not your flesh.

Romans 8:6-8 (KJV) 6  For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7  Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8  So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

Romans 8:6-8 (AMP) 6  Now the mind of the flesh [which is sense and reason without the Holy Spirit] is death [death that comprises all the miseries arising from sin, both here and hereafter]. But the mind of the [Holy] Spirit is life and [soul] peace [both now and forever].
7  [That is] because the mind of the flesh [with its carnal thoughts and purposes] is hostile to God, for it does not submit itself to God’s Law; indeed it cannot.
8  So then those who are living the life of the flesh [catering to the appetites and impulses of their carnal nature] cannot please or satisfy God, or be acceptable to Him.

Feelings can never be counted on to do the right thing. Have you noticed that when you’re being attacked by the enemy, it always “feels” like it will never get better? That’s your head talking. But in your heart – your spirit – you know that God’s Word always works and that His Word has never failed – not one time! Keep standing on the Word and you will come through.

1 Kings 8:56b (KJV) 56  …  there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant.

We need to be extra cautious that we don’t judge God by our feelings. Many have made that mistake and ended up shipwrecked. God’s Word always has to be the final authority for all we think and do. He is faithful, faithful, faithful and always will be. Let’s renew our minds to His Word and walk in the victory Jesus bought for us.

Bandaids & Flat Tires

Matthew 15:13 (KJV) 13  But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.

Have you ever experienced driving on a flat tire? It’s not easy and feels so-o-o uncomfortable. Or, have you ever had a cut and put a bandaid on it to keep it clean? The bandaid doesn’t actually heal, but just keeps the cut clean. I think everyone knows what I’m talking about even if you never had a flat tire.

The point I want to make is the cut needs to be attended to and the flat needs to be fixed. Yes, you can drive with a flat tire, but it will hinder your journey and possibly damage your car. I think I’ve made my point.

But, just as flat tires are not effective in driving, so it is with obstacles and hindrances in our lives that hinder us from accomplishing what the Lord has for us. Bandaiding the problem does not solve it. You have to get at the root: dig it out and receive your healing.

Another example is when you dig dandelions or other unwanted weeds. If you just pull them out they’ll grow back. You have to dig out the roots if you want to get rid of the weeds. That’s how it is with issues in life. You have to attack the root cause and dig it out in order to be free.  And as I’ve said, bandaiding the problem won’t work for the long  term.

Let’s be more specific. If you’ve been praying about the promises of God and haven’t seen much success, what do you do? You need to seek the Lord about the hold-up. His promises are always YES. So, why aren’t you seeing the manifestation of the promises? There’s something clogging your pipeline and you need to get rid of it in order to free up the promise to get through to you. It’s not God withholding. It’s something blocking it.

Many times the problem is STRIFE! Strife is a promise killer and will even destroy you and those around you if you let it. Not only that, strife is a faith killer and without faith, you can’t connect to God and His promises. You can’t bandaid the strife and expect godly results. It won’t work. it takes major surgery!

So, what do you do? Repent of the strife, resist it in the Name of Jesus, and root it out of your life. Stand on the promise that what God has not planted shall be rooted out (Matt. 15:13). Take your stand, keep enforcing strife’s defeat, and watch the promises come to pass in your life.

2 Corinthians 1:20 (KJV) 20  For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

Hebrews 11:6 (KJV) 6  But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

James 3:16 (KJV)
16  For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
Romans 12:18 (KJV)
18  If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

Who Needs Some More wisdom?

How many times have you ever had to make a decision of some importance and weren’t sure if you would make the right one? I think most of us have been there. Fortunately, there’s a way to consistently make the right decisions, with no regrets. Wow! Can this be? Yes – read on.

1 Corinthians 1:30 (KJV) 30  But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

As you can see from the above scripture, Jesus is our Wisdom. When we got born-again, Jesus became Wisdom unto us, just like He is our righteousness, sanctification, and redemption. I don’t think anyone would argue that He is our redemption. We know and believe that. Therefore, if one part of the scripture is true, then the rest of it is also.

Remember, as I always say, God’s Word has to be the “benchmark”, the final authority, for all that we do. If we need wisdom, we need to go to God’s Word and find out what He has to say.

First of all, if you need wisdom, ask God for it. He will always lead and direct you by his Spirit. We are told to ask if we need something and it will be given to us (Matt. 7:7-8; James 1:5). God’s will for us is to know Him and His ways. He wants us to be successful and victorious in this life. That’s why He has so provided for us via His Word. Every answer you’ll ever need is in the Word of God. That’s His part. Our part is to dig it out, partake of it and be the overcomers and the “more than conquerors” that He intends for us to be.

Remember, what God says, is! You can count on Him to always make a way for you. The Holy Spirit is your Guide and He will direct your path. Yield yourself to His wisdom and believe to be in the right place at the right time to make the right decisions.

Matthew 7:7-8 (KJV) 7  Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8  For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

James 1:5 (KJV) 5   If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

James 3:17 (KJV) 17  But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV) 5  Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

1 John 5:14-15 (KJV) 14  And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: 15  And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

Whose Report Will You Believe?

Romans 10:16 (KJV) 16  But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?

There are always at least two reports that confront you any time you have to make a decision.  In any given situation, we always have the choice of whether to believe what our senses say, or to believe what God has already said in His Word.

Sense knowledge is knowledge based on the five physical senses: what you can see, hear, taste, smell, or feel. Spirit knowledge – the God-kind of knowledge or Revelation knowledge – is the knowledge that you get from God and His Word. So far so good? Keep reading.

Yes, of course, we need sense knowledge to function in this world because we are human beings. But, sense knowledge is not the do-all, end-all of everything. Remember, there are two realms that we deal with: the physical realm and the spirit realm. The spirit realm is the higher realm because it created the physical realm.

Continuing on. To be led by the physical senses only, is to set yourself up for defeat because the Word says to be carnally minded (senses ruled) is death. God can’t be much clearer than that. But He also says to be spiritually minded is life and peace. And isn’t that what we want?

So, how do we be “spiritually minded” instead of “sense ruled?” Simply by seeking God’s way of doing things instead of the world’s way. I like to say it this way: The Word of God has to be the “benchmark” for all you do. Whenever a situation or circumstance confronts you, always go to the Word – what does God have to say about this thing? He knew about your situation before it even confronted you. He’s already got it covered.

God has so graciously provided everything we’ll ever need on planet earth for us to be victorious. But, our part is to seek out His way of doing things and then DO IT! Just knowing the answer won’t get results. You actually have to DO IT!

Remember, God is our loving Father, out for our good, and He is faithful, faithful, faithful!

Romans 8:6-9 (KJV) 6  For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7  Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8  So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. 9  But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

Matthew 6:33 (KJV) 33  But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Matthew 6:33 (AMP) 33  But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.

We Live by the Word of God

Matthew 4:4 (KJV) 4  But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

1 Samuel 2:30b (KJV) 30  …  for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.

When Jesus was tempted by Satan in the wilderness, His response was, “It is written!” And then He quoted God’s Word. When He said that man doesn’t live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the the mouth of God, what did He mean? Let’s check it out.

John 1:1,14  (KJV) 1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  14  And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
1 Peter 1:23 (KJV) 23  Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

Here we see that Jesus is the Word of God. He is the incorruptible seed and therefore, His Word is incorruptible seed. When we make God’s Word our final authority, our benchmark, standing on what He has to say about any given situation, we can know that we’re on good ground. We can know that His Word will see us through because Jesus is the Word.

Too many Christians turn to the world’s way of doing things, the world’s solutions, instead of going to God first, to see what He has already said in His Word about their problem. Yes, the world has some answers that might work, but there is no assurance that they’ll always work or that they’ll always have a solution, as we know.

God has an excellent, impeccable track record. Not one Word of His has ever failed, nor will it ever fail. People will fail, but it’s never been God’s Word that failed.

1 Kings 8:56b (KJV) 56  …  there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant.

As I’ve said before, faith is the access road to all the promises of God. Everything we do must be done in faith, according to His Word, if we want results that always work.

It’s not hard. It’s actually quite simple to hear God’s Word, believe it, and do it. He has made it so do-able that many have missed it because of its simplicity. Proud people want something complicated. That’s why the gospel is preached to the humble because they’ll receive it and it’ll work in their lives.

We must value God’s Word above all else. His Word has to be the final authority in our lives, no matter what. When it is, God will honor us and we’ll walk in  the victory that He has provided for us.

Job 23:12 (KJV) 12  Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.
