How many times have you prayed without assurance of your answer, not knowing whether or not you actually made any “heavenly” contact? Unfortunately, for many, this is a common occurrence. But, the good news is that it doesn’t have to be that way. You can have assurance when you pray. Read on . . .

1 Peter 3:12a (KJV) ¹²  For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers:

1 Corinthians 1:30 (KJV) ³⁰  But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
2 Corinthians 5:21 (KJV) ²¹  For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

If you’ve been born-again, Jesus is your righteousness whether or not you feel like it. You were made righteous in Him and therefore God hears your prayers.

Righteousness means “right standing with God.” When we’re in Jesus, we’re in right standing with Him, something we could never do ourselves. It had  to be by Jesus’ redemptive sacrifice.

As born-again Christians, our hearts continually desire to be and stay in right relationship with God. And thankfully, Jesus made a way for that to be. By His redemption, He became our righteousness – our right standing with God, Therefore, when we accepted Him as our Lord and Savior, we accepted His righteousness for ourselves. We are now the righteousness of Him — in right standing with God, now and forever.

I said all this to show that God does indeed hear our prayers. But as the title says, we need to use our “faith” password to access all of His promises because God is only moved by faith. He will answer all faith-filled prayers based on His Word.

Hebrews 11:6 (KJV) ⁶  But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

1 John 5:14-15 (KJV) ¹⁴  And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
¹⁵  And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

We can have assurance regarding our prayers. When we pray in faith according to God’s Word (which is His will), we know that He hears us, and then, because He hears us, we can know that we have the answer to our prayers.

God is always on the look-out for those who will believe Him and His Word so that He can show Himself strong and move on their behalf.

Be one of those people!

After decades of being a Christian, I am still appalled that there are other Christians who still don’t believe that it’s God’s will to heal every time, all the time. He hasn’t changed.

Malachi 3:6a (KJV) ⁶  For I am the LORD, I change not ..

Numbers 23:19 (KJV) ¹⁹  God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
Psalm 119:89 (KJV) ⁸⁹  For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.
2 Corinthians 1:20 (KJV) ²⁰  For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

Once God has spoken a blessing, He doesn’t change. If He healed in the Old Testament, then He still heals today.

Hebrews 13:8 (KJV) ⁸  Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
Galatians 3:13 (KJV) ¹³  Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

God’s plan was and is for us to have dominion in the earth and all the blessings of Abraham belong to us (Deut. 28:1-14).  We’ve also been redeemed from the curse, which includes sickness and disease (Gal. 3:13).

God means what He has said in His Word that by Jesus’ stripes our healing has already been bought and paid for and it belongs to us. 

1 Peter 2:24 (KJV) ²⁴  Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Healing is not automatic. God has already done His part and now we have our part to do. Our part is to believe God’s Word and then act like we really believe it. That’s what faith is – believing what God has already said in His Word and then lining up with it. It’s our positive response to what God has already given to us by His grace.

Healing from God is simple and easy. We just have to receive it by faith and enjoy the divine results.

One of the most exciting thing about WORDS is that they have creative power. 

Proverbs 18:21 (KJV) ²¹  Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

When we speak God’s Word, His creative power is in His Words. Therefore, when we speak His Word in faith, that creative power is still in the Word. That’s when we see miracles happen.

Joshua and the Israelites needed a miracle. God told him to keep the Word in his mouth night and day and then he would make his way prosperous and have good success. That’s what he did and that’s what he got. [Joshua 6]

Joshua 1:8 (KJV)
⁸  This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

That’s what we’re to do – confess God’s Word continuously and then we will make our way prosperous and have good success. Who doesn’t want that!

We must make the Word of God the benchmark for all we do and keep it in the forefront of our thinking and speaking because that’s what works. If we only speak what the world says, then we’ll only get what the world gets. And we surely don’t want that!

Don’t pattern yourself after a failing system. Pattern yourself after a System that works – God’s System, His Kingdom, His way of doing things. And that’s a sure thing because God’s Word always works and has a no-failure rate of performance!

Do you feel powerless over the circumstances in your life? Do you feel like a volley ball tossed to and fro from one crisis to another? Well, hold on because you don’t have to continue living a defeated, powerless life. God has the answer for you.

Let’s look at II Timothy 1:7:

 

2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV) ⁷  For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Notice word POWER. It’s the Greek word meaning the dunamis power of God. That’s the power He has given us. Dunamis means explosive strength, ability, and power. It’s the strength of an army! How ’bout that! You have the strength of an army residing in you. You have miraculous power inside you. You are a powerhouse!

You see, we have that power in us but, unless we know that we have it and know how to use it, we can and will remain powerless in our lives and God cannot move. He has given us the power to overcome the world, even our faith. We have to take that authority – exousia.

Exousia is the authority of God–His delegated power. We take that authority and use the dunamis power–explosive power – and see the power of God work on our behalf.

Luke 10:19 (KJV) ¹⁹  Behold, I give unto you power [exousia] to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power [dunamis] of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

The first power in the above scripture is exousia – delegated authority or influence. The second power is dunamis – strength or ability. God has given us authority over any ability the devil has and we can beat him every time. But in order to do that, we need to know that we have that power and then use it. We don’t have to be intimidated by the devil and his wily ways. We can resist him and he has to flee.

James 4:7 (KJV) ⁷  Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

John 1:12 (KJV) ¹²  But as many as received him, to them gave he power [exousia] to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 

We have been given authority – exousia (power) –  to become the sons of God. Therefore, we don’t have to succumb to the trickery of the devil. We have power over him and his wicked schemes. Praise the Lord!

As a Christian, you do a lot of good things: pray, read and study the Word of God, go to church, give tithes and offerings. But, have you ever stopped to think about why you’re doing those things?

We need to discern our motives for why we do what we do. Is it because we’re trying to appease a God Whom we think is angry with us? Do we think our “good” deeds will get us back into His good graces? Or are we doing it because we love God and want to do these good deeds as a way to show our deep and abiding love for Him?

For example, when we give an offering, do we inwardly feel so proud of ourselves and therefore, God will be so pleased with our effort? Not the right response! God loves cheerful givers who give out of their hearts in faith because they love God and his people. That’s what pleases Him.

God isn’t angry with us. He’s not even in a bad mood! He loves us with an everlasting love. We can’t do anything that will make God love us more than He already does. And we can’t be bad enough to stop Him from loving us. How can I say that? Because God doesn’t just have love – He is love! He is love personified. It’s the very essence of His being.

The more you get to know how much God really loves you, the more you’ll trust Him and be able to walk in His ways and the victory that Jesus bought and paid for you.

 

1 John 4:10 (KJV) ¹⁰  Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
1 John 4:16 (KJV) ¹⁶  And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
1 John 4:18 (KJV) ¹⁸  There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

Paul told us in Ephesians to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.

Ephesians 6:10 (KJV) ¹⁰  Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

The word POWER in this verse is the Greek word kratos which means a power that is demonstrative, eruptive, and tangible and almost always comes with an external or outward manifestation. It’s the same word that is used in Ephesians 1:19-20:

Ephesians 1:19-20 (KJV) ¹⁹  And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
²⁰  Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,

The power that raised Jesus from the dead is the kratos power of God – demonstrative, eruptive, tangible.

Romans 8:11 (KJV) ¹¹  But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

Do you see that the same power of God that raised Jesus from the dead is the same power of God that dwells in you! That’s awesome! 

When the power of God shot through Jesus’ body, it changed Him! And that’s what can happen to you. When the power of God shoots through you, it WILL change you!

We are told to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Too many times we succumb to the ways of the world because we’ve been in it for so long. If they say that by a certain age, eyes begin to change, hearing starts to go, memory lapses increase, and we get weaker physically, we agree with them. Then we fall into the same programming and end up getting exactly what we have confessed and believed for, but not what we truly want.

After all, people say, I’m just human! But that’s not true, if you’ve been born-again. You’re not just human. One-third of you is wall-to-wall Holy Ghost! and He’s perfect. You have the power of Almighty God residing in you to help you in every way.

Nowhere in the Bible does it say that you have to get weak and decrepit. Your eyes don’t have to dim, or your hearing subside, or your physical condition weaken making you susceptible to any number of available sicknesses, diseases, and afflictions. Moses is a prime example:

Deuteronomy 34:7 (KJV) ⁷  And Moses was an hundred and twenty years old when he died: his eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated.

Your organs don’t have to peter out, You can be strong in your senior years and continue to live a vibrant, full life ’til the Rapture or ’til you’re satisfied and ready to go home to Heaven.

Psalm 91:16 (KJV) ¹⁶  With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

We, as born-again believers, need to stop making excuses for our weaknesses and focus on God’s power in us that’s available 24/7.

Being consistent is of the utmost importance if you’re ever going to succeed in what you’re doing. For example, exercising. If you want the full benefits of exercise, you have to do it on a regular basis. If you want the full benefits of dieting, you have to do it on a regular basis. Intermittent adherence to exercise – being a week-end warrior – or dieting once a week is not going to get you the desired results you want.

And so it is with the promises of God. Reading a promise verse daily is not going to build your faith for said promise. Listening to one short Sunday sermon is not going to cause you to develop strong faith. What you do on a consistent basis is what will have an effect on you. Unfortunately, it even works in the negative. Listening to negative things on TV will cause them to have an effect on you – fear, worry, anxiety.

Faith in God comes by hearing and hearing and hearing His Word. It doesn’t come by having heard! It’s a daily, 24/7 process – always keeping the Word of God before your eyes and in your ears. Everyone can do it. It’s a matter of choosing what’s important to you.

Am I saying you have to have your nose in the Bible every minute? No. I’m saying you have to get the Word into your heart and that will cause you to be able to meditate on it day and night. You’re always thinking about something. That’s not the problem. It’s what you’re thinking about that causes faith to develop or to be hindered.

Thinking on negative things will hinder your faith: things like fear, worry, anxiety. You are well able to choose to think on good things. God tells you to that and if He told you do something, then you CAN do it!

Purpose in your heart to give God more of your time by getting into His Word and studying it to develop your faith. Remember, you don’t get strong faith accidentally. It takes effort and diligence on a consistent basis. And when you do it God’s way, you will succeed!

Romans 10:17 (KJV) ¹⁷  So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Philippians 4:8 (KJV) ⁸  Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Does fear have you in its grip? Are you constantly worrying about something? Does it seem like problems will never end?

 You don’t have to fear because you don’t have to look at what’s causing the fear! You can choose.

Everyone goes through these things but not everyone succumbs to fear’s terror. So, how do we overcome the fears, worries, and anxieties that continually plague us? 

1 Corinthians 10:13 (KJV) ¹³  There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Many times when we’re dealing with something, it seems like we’re the “only” one who has ever been through this. But not so. Everything we go through is the same thing everyone else goes through. Just the outward appearance has changed. Fear is fear, terror is terror, and the enemy is no respecter of persons. He hates every one of us. There are no devil’s favorites. We’re all on his hit list. But God’s got us covered!

 

What you look at is what you pursue. What you think on is what you follow after. You have a choice about what you think about, good or evil. Worry and fear are evil and meditating on the problem only serves to establish it in your life.

Meditating on the promises of God keeps you focused on the solutions. That’s what Abraham did. He didn’t consider his own body, nor Sarah’s. Being past the child-bearing years, they had to stay focused on God’s Word in order to produce the promised child. They did and they received. 

Romans 4:19-21 (KJV) ¹⁹  And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara’s womb:
²⁰   He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;
²¹  And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.

Instead of focusing on the problems and the fears, we need to consider what God has told us in His Word and receive the promises. It’s only in the light of God’s Word that we get the victory that Jesus already paid for so that we don’t have to pay.

Matthew 6:22 (KJV) ²²  The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
Psalm 36:9b (KJV) ⁹   … in thy light shall we see light.

It’s in the light of God’s Word that we get more light, more revelation, that brings the answer to us. Stay with what God has promised and keep focused on Him. Shut the door to fear and worry and watch your faith grow!

How’s your prayer life working? Are you getting the answers you want? Let’s take a look at how you’re praying and see if it can be tweaked.

Are you aware that your Heavenly Father already knows what you need before you ever ask Him? He is well aware of everything about you. How ’bout that!

Matthew 6:32 (KJV) ³²  (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

Do you pray and then go about your daily business, feeling no better than before you prayed? Why? Are you complaining to God, reciting all the gory details of just how bad the situation is that’s confronting you, problems day in and day out?

Why are you doing that? Maybe it’s because you’ve heard others pray that way and you’ve learned to do it that way also. But it won’t work to get you the desired results. Praying the problem only serves to establish it in your life. The more you pray the problem, talk the problem, and think the problem, the more you believe the problem. That’s destructive because faith comes by hearing  – either good or bad. 

The more you hear the problem the more faith you’ll have in it and establish it instead of getting rid of it.

 

Romans 10:17 (KJV) ¹⁷  So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Faith in God’s Word comes by hearing God’s Word. But, faith in the devil also comes by hearing, hearing the devil’s words. It works both ways. So what do you do? Pray the answer. God has so graciously provided everything we’ll ever need to be victorious by giving us His great and precious promises in His Word. Praying the promises and standing on His Word will open the door for the Lord to manifest the answer and you’ll get your desired results.

2 Peter 1:3-4 (KJV) ³  According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
⁴  Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Declare the promises over whatever your need is and expect results!

Romans 4:17b (KJV) ¹⁷  … even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.

How many times have you been in a situation when you  knew your faith wasn’t strong enough to overcome? Unfortunately for many, it’s way too often. My pastor says if you wait ’til you have the need, you waited too long.

Let’s look at some examples. If you wait ’til you’re sick to start confessing healing scriptures, it’s too late. If you wait ’til the rent is due before you start confessing financial scriptures, it’s too late. So, what do you do?

Instead of waiting ’til you get sick, start confessing “health and healing” scriptures and speaking to your body now: No weapon formed against me shall prosper. God always causes me to triumph in Christ Jesus. With long life will He satisfy me. By the stripes of Jesus I have been healed. My youth is renewed as the eagles.

By confessing what God has to say, you’re fortifying yourself before the attack and in most cases, your faith-filled positive confessions will ward off the attacks.

God’s Word always works but you have to build up your walls ahead of time. Faith in God’s Word comes by hearing God’s Word. You can’t build your faith in the middle of a storm.

Building and developing strong faith takes diligence and effort, doing it on purpose. You don’t get strong faith by accident! Get into the Word and let the Word get into you. God is faithful, faithful, faithful and He is always looking for someone who will stand on His Word, believe it, and see it come to pass.

Isaiah 54:17 (KJV) ¹⁷  No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.
2 Corinthians 2:14 (KJV) ¹⁴  Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.
