Are You a Believing Believer or an Unbelieving Believer?

What? How can that be? Well, let me explain.

Every believer is not really a believer. Yes, they might actually be born-again but do they qualify as believing believers? Do you qualify?

A believing believer is, first and foremost, born-again, washed in the Blood of Jesus, have their sins forever forgiven, and eternally saved. They also believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and therefore give it the proper place in their lives. The actually believe that what God has promised in His Word, He means! And, they act accordingly. That’s faith.

Now, on the other hand, there are those that I call unbelieving believers. They’re born-again but to get them to believe and walk in God’s Word is another story. They are hard pressed to believe in healing, prosperity, deliverance, etc., etc., etc.  Oh sure, they acknowledge that God’s Word is true but in their hearts they really don’t believe it for themselves. Needless to say, these people rarely get answered prayer.

It’s really quite sad and, in my opinion, offensive to God, Who so mercifully put all our sins and sicknesses on the Lord Jesus so that we don’t have to pay the price. He has so graciously provided all that we’ll ever need on planet earth, yet they choose to do without, going the way of the world’s system. And we know who’s behind that—the devil himself!

The whole world is under the curse and if you choose to ignore God’s provision, the curse is out there ready to accommodate you.

Let’s purpose in our hearts to lean on, trust in, and believe in God’s Holy Word and all that He’s provided for us! Let’s be doers of the Word and not hearers only!

Remember, God always causes us to triumph in Christ Jesus!

2 Timothy 3:16 (KJV) 16  All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
2 Corinthians 2:14 (KJV) 14  Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.
James 1:22 (KJV) 22  But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
James 2:17 (KJV) 17  Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
