You Can’t Open the Door with the Wrong Key!

Have you ever tried opening your door, wondering why it didn’t open? You had the wrong key! And as title says, you can’t open the door with the wrong key!

It’s the same with God’s promises. There are spiritual laws in God’s Word that act as keys to unlocking the promises. If you try interchanging them, it won’t work.

If you try using football rules to play baseball, it won’t work. It’s the same with God’s Word. Let me give you some examples.

Take healing. I Peter 2:24 says that by the stripes of Jesus we were (past tense) healed. That means it’s a done deal—bought and paid for by our Lord Jesus. Now, if you pray for healing and say, “If it be Your will,” you’re praying amiss because it’s always God’s will to heal. That “if it be your will” key won’t work to get you healed.

Again, if you pray asking God to heal you, when He’s already provided it, what’s that going to get you? You have to use the right key and make a demand on the promise. It’s not a matter of whether or not God will heal you, it’s a matter of whether or not you will receive what He’s already provided. Mark 11:23-24 tells us what to do.

Then there’s finances. How many of you are in need of finances and praying desperately for the Lord’s help? But how many are using the right keys? Luke 6:38 tells us to give and it shall be given unto us and Malachi 3:10 instructs us about tithes and offerings. And let’s not forget the hundredfold return that’s available to those who give into God’s work.

Remember the wedding feast at Cana? It was the first miracle of Jesus and it was a miracle of abundance! Mary told the servants to do whatever Jesus told them to do. We would be wise to do the same. If we want the promises of God to manifest in our lives, we need to heed the Words of Jesus and do them!

This is the most exciting life one can have on planet earth. And to make if even more exciting, Jesus told us to pray that God’s will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. We can have Heaven on earth, if we’ll believe for it! Glory to God who gives us richly all things to enjoy! (I Timothy 6:17)

Mark 11:23-24 (KJV) 23  For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24  Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Luke 6:38 (KJV) 38  Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
Matthew 19:29 (KJV) 29  And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
John 2:5 (KJV) 5  His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
Matthew 6:10 (KJV) 10  Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
