Are You Enjoying a Life Worth Living?

My observation has been that many times people get saved and then go about their lives as usual. Some even study the Word for a while but when there’s a crisis and their prayers don’t get answered, they lose heart and quit. That’s because they’re not grounded in the Word and the Word isn’t first place in their lives – the benchmark—for all they do. This is not a pretty picture.

Sadly, many Christians go about their daily lives and only shoot up a desperate prayer when there’s a problem. But that doesn’t get the manifestation. Their relationship with God is similar to their relationship with the doctor. They only go to see him when there’s a problem! That’s not how it’s supposed to be with our Heavenly Father.

Oh, how far short are these attitudes from what our Father actually intends for us! He says we’re the head and not the tail, above and not beneath. He says that He always causes us to triumph in Christ Jesus, and everything we set our hands to prospers! What more could we want!

God has so graciously given us all things that pertain to life and godliness and all His divine promises are ours. What problem could we possibly have that God has not already provided the solution? We have it made, but with no revelation of the Word, we don’t know what’s been freely given to us.

That’s why it behooves us to make a firm commitment to get into the Word so the Word can get into us! We have to put forth effort because it takes effort to make a firm commitment to God’s Word and make it the “bottom line” for all we do. But, dear ones, it’s worth every moment and the rewards are endless! That’s what’s called “a life worth living!”

Deuteronomy 28:8 (KJV) 8  The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
Deuteronomy 28:12-13 (KJV) 12  The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.
13  And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:

2 Corinthians 2:14 (KJV) 14  Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.
2 Peter 1:3-4 (KJV) 3  According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
4  Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
