Are You on Fire for God or Just a Hot-Head?

Remember when you got saved and the zeal you had for Jesus and all that He had given you? Well, that zeal should be evident today. In fact, it should have increased to where you are actually a fanatic for Jesus!

Sadly, though, it seems that the ways of the world have crept into the church and people are responding to the issues of life the same way the world does. The fire of God has been replaced by hot-headedness! Just look around you!

“Speaking your mind” or “venting”, as the world calls it, is not the way God would have us respond to problems, issues, or daily conflicts. He has provided a better way. And that way is yielding to the fruit of your re-born spirit, specifically, patience and temperance.

Too many Christians pray and ask God to give them patience when, in fact, they already have it. Our job is to yield to the patience in our re-born spirit and let it dominate the circumstances of life that come against us.

The patience that God gave us at salvation is simply faith over a long period of time. That kind of patience will see you through to the end.

We need to get on fire for God and stay on fire and not be a hot-head!

We need to ask ourselves the question, “If we were accused of being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict us?”

Galatians 5:22-23 (KJV) 22  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23  Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Galatians 5:22-23 (AMP)
22  But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness), peace, patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness (benevolence), faithfulness,
23  Gentleness (meekness, humility), self-control (self-restraint, continence). Against such things there is no law [that can bring a charge].
