Who would buy an appliance and then not read the instructions to see how it works? Who would buy a car or garden equipment and not read the manual? Of course, some wouldn’t read the manual but most people would. Why? Because they want to operate their new purchase correctly so they can enjoy it.
It’s so disheartening to buy something and then get it home to find out it wasn’t what you expected or didn’t even work at all!
So, I ask you, why would any intelligent human being expect to live successfully on planet earth without reading the Manufacturer’s Handbook – the Bible, God’s Holy Word? But, sad to say, millions are doing just that – living life totally ignorant of God’s instructions, plans, and purposes for them.
Brothers and sisters, more than ever before we need to immerse ourselves in God’s Word to strengthen and enable us to be the overcoming Church that we’re called to be. A crisis exposes where our faith is and without God’s Word in our hearts, we can’t have God’s power working in us.
In John 15:5 Jesus said that without Him we can do nothing. But the good news is that if we’re born-again, we’re not without Him! Yes, Jesus will never leave or forsake us but that doesn’t guarantee victory in our daily living.
God’s Word has to be the benchmark from which we measure everything in life. I know I say this a lot but it’s so important. If we want to live victorious lives we need to do it God’s way – from a Biblical perspective. For sure, it makes life a whole lot easier.
Remember Gen, 1:26 when God gave the “dominion mandate” to Adam and Eve? That’s for us too but the only way we’re going to accomplish it is to know and stand on God’s Word.
Rise up Church and take you place!
