In continuing along the line of “cliff” note tips for life, here are some more golden nuggets to ponder and meditate on.
1 – You’ll only progress as far as the amount of God’s Word that’s in you. It goes along with the idea of a computer that the only information you get out is what you put in. Word in, Word out. Junk in, junk out!
Stop and listen to yourself. Do you really want those words you’re speaking, to come to pass – ie. that blows my mind, that tickles me to death, that blows me away, that breaks my heart, I love him to death! Now that’s a really bad one! Change your words and change your life!
2 – Every scripture has layers and layers of revelation in it. You won’t get it the first time you read a scripture. God will continue to reveal His Word to you throughout your whole life as you study the Word. Emphasis: study the Word– that’s your part!
3 – Walking with God is 24/7, not just a nibble a couple of times a week.
4 – No one is born a full-grown adult – nobody! It’s the same with spiritual things. No one is born-again as a full-grown adult. It’s line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little, there a little. And soon little by little becomes bigger and bigger and you’ll notice that you’re actually growing!
Isaiah 28:10 (KJV) 10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:
2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV) 15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
James 1:21b (KJV) 21 … receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
Romans 12:2 (KJV) 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Ephesians 4:23 (KJV) 23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
5 – The Old Testament is types and shadows of the New Testament. Spend most of your time studying the New Testament because that’s where we live. If you want to walk in the victory that God has for you, you must study the New Testament!
6 – God loves you in spite of yourself! He can’t love you anymore than He does and He won’t love you any less no matter how many dumb things you do! It’s His nature to love you. He doesn’t just have love; He is love! His love for you isn’t based on your actions. It’s based on Who He is.
1 John 4:8b (KJV) 8 … for God is love.
John 3:16 (KJV) 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
7 – God’s grace is magnificent! It’s what He has freely done for you independent of you. It’s His divine favor and enablement. Grace is God’s willingness to use His power and ability on your behalf.
Ephesians 2:8 (KJV) 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
2 Corinthians 9:8 (KJV) 8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
Hebrews 4:16 (KJV) 16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
8 – Many Christians get born-again and then get stuck and never experience the life worth living that our Father has for us. And then they declare that living the Christian life is so hard! This is not how God intended it to be. That’s why He so graciously gave us His will in the Bible – His Word to us. That way we can know the life He has for us. Doing it His way works. You’ll never grow spiritually beyond your knowledge of God’s Word. Every problem is actually a knowledge of the Word problem because it’s His Word that has the solutions to your problems.
James 1:22 (KJV) 22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
James 1:25 (KJV) 25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
