As you know, being a Christian necessarily means that we are followers of Jesus Christ. But sometimes the things we’re supposed to do seem hard and unattainable. For example:
Do you have a habit that keeps crawling out and trying to overtake you – like eating too much, maybe smoking, maybe foul language, not loving the unlovely, etc.? Or maybe you’re a people-pleaser and you know that this isn’t a good life style but it seems so hard to break out of that habit. Well, I have good news for all my brothers and sisters in the Lord.
The reason why you might be having a hard time is because you’re trying to do it in the flesh instead of letting the Holy Spirit undergird you. Trying to walk the Christian life in the flesh doesn’t work and can get very discouraging. You have to do it empowered by the Holy Spirit. Then it will work and the anointing of God will enable you to overcome your weaknesses.
Galatians 1:10 (KJV) 10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.
1 Thessalonians 2:4 (KJV) 4 But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.
You can do it– Pamela
