We’re in Two Places at the Same Time!

Ephesians 1:20-23 (KJV) 20  Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
21  Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
22  And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
23  Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

Colossians 1:19 (KJV) 19  For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;
Colossians 2:9-10 (KJV) 9  For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
10  And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

From the above passages, we see that Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father, far above all all principality, power, might, dominion, and every name that is named! But that’s not all—God has put all things under Jesus’ feet and He is the Head of the Church, which is us. Now comes the good part—

Ephesians 2:6 (KJV) 6  And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

1 John 4:13 (KJV) 13  Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.
1 John 5:20 (KJV) 20  And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

The good part is that we are in Jesus and in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. That means that we are seated with Him in heavenly places, far above all principality, power, might, and dominion. We’re in two places at the same time!

That’s awesome because we don’t have to fear the devil anymore since we are in Jesus. We have power and authority over all of the enemy’s evil works! That’s so encouraging and freeing! But, and I mean BUT, we have to take our authority in faith and stand against Satan. He’s a defeated foe but ignorance of that fact will keep you in bondage.

So, you see, since we are in Jesus, and He is seated in Heavenly places, we too are seated with Him in heavenly places. That’s a really good perspective to view things from! We want to soar with the eagles, not grovel on the ground in the muck and mire.

Keep that heavenly perspective and you will avoid all kinds of anxiety.

Are You Enjoying Your Life or Just Muddling Through?

1 Peter 3:10 (KJV) 10  For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:
Psalm 34:12-13 (KJV) 12  What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?
13  Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.

James 1:19 (KJV) 19  Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

Proverbs 18:21 (KJV) 21  Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

As I’ve said many times, the words we speak are very powerful and affect every area of our lives. They can bless or they can curse. We can speak loving things or we can speak evil things. It’s all done with words.

Peter tells is that if we want to enjoy our lives, we need to watch the words we speak. Evil words hurt, trap, and trick people into believing the wrong things. Speaking guile is just as bad –evil and deceptive.

It’s not only speaking bad, nasty things that count as evil. Speaking contrary to God’s Word is evil. Calling evil good and good evil is really evil!

Isaiah 5:20 (KJV) 20  Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Disagreeing with God’s Word or acting contrary to His Word is evil and will negatively affect your life. For example: the Word says that by the stripes of Jesus we’ve already been healed. Jesus paid the price for our total healing, yet many Christians don’t believe that God still heals today and even speak against it! How smart it that?

There are those who say and even preach that God doesn’t want us to prosper financially, yet the Bible is replete with prosperity scriptures saying just the opposite. Not a smart idea to disagree with God!

Let’s get back on track and believe that God is not a liar and that what He promised in His Word, He means! If we would do this, our lives would be much better, we’d be much happier, and the heathen would actually sit up and take notice that we serve a Good God!

1 Peter 2:24 (KJV)
24  Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
3 John 1:2 (KJV)
2  Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
Numbers 23:19 (KJV)
19  God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

Prayer Works…or Does It?

Many people can be quoted as saying that prayer works but is that really true? What? How can I say that? Read on…

Believe it or not, there are many kinds of prayer and not all of them are prayers to the living God of the Heavens and earth—Almighty God, Creator of the Universe. In fact, many unsaved people will tell you that they pray—I wonder about that! (My husband talked to a man who said he prayed to himself—go figure!) But for this message, I’m referring to Christians—born-again Christians who have made Jesus the Lord of their lives.

Having said all that, let’s examine the scriptures to see whether or not prayer works. (Remember, this is a blog, not a book.)

James 5:15 (KJV)
15  And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
Hebrews 4:2 (KJV)
2  For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
Mark 11:23-24 (KJV)
23  For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24  Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

The key to these scriptures is that the only prayer that works is the prayer of faith–prayer mixed with faith. Without mixing your prayer with faith, you might as well be singing a nursery rhyme.

So, how do you pray in faith? By believing what God has already promised in His Word and then acting on it. The Israelites didn’t benefit from God’s Word because they didn’t mix faith with it, wandering in the wilderness for forty years. They failed to receive the promise.

Too many times I have seen people pray as a last resort – has I come to that! And if that’s how you pray, you can be sure there’s little or no faith in it because if faith had been present, they would have prayed first and gotten God involved!

Then there’s Mark 11:23-24, one of my all-time favorite scriptures. Here we see that in order to see the manifestation of what you have prayed for, you have to believe (have faith) that what you have prayed for you have received (now) even before you see any results. (That’s a whole teaching in itself.)

So, the bottom line is that prayer indeed works but only prayer mixed with faith, Be a faither and get blessed!

The Displacement Principle

[Note: Please avail yourself of over 100 blogs on my website. I believe they will be a blessing to you.  — Pamela]

Are you a Person who tries and tries to get rid of all the “bad” things in your life — fear, doubt, unbelief — but continually struggles? It seems that the longer we’re Christians, the more we try to do everything right. And that’s a good thing but there’s an easier way. I call it the Displacement Principle.

For example, if you took a glass of water and dropped red food coloring into the glass, the water would turn red. So how do you get the water clear again? By adding more water until everything is clear and no more color.

That’s the way to get rid of the junk in your life — keep adding the Word day by day by day and you’ll get so full of the Word that there won’t be any room for the junky bad stuff — fear, doubt, and unbelief . Not only that, you’ll find yourself memorizing scriptures almost effortlessly!

When fear, doubt, or unbelief try to creep in, the Word that’s in you will come forth and drive out those negative thoughts. Now, it doesn’t happen overnight but diligence and perseverance will pay off and you’ll see success and victory. Winners never quit and quitters never win!

Then, on the other hand, if you do have some Word in your heart, but start getting into fear, doubt, and unbelief, that evil stuff will displace the Word and you’ll be in big trouble! You see, the Displacement Principle works both ways—positively and negatively.

Be a Word person and be a person of your word and you’ll see great things happen in your life!

Hebrews 4:12 (KJV) 12  For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV) 15  Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Psalm 119:89 (KJV) 89  For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.

Psalm 119:105 (KJV) 105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Why Do Bad Things Happen? Part II

In Part I, I said that unless you have committed your ways to the Lord, He’s under no obligation to protect you.

2 Timothy 1:12b (KJV) 12  … I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

Even so, God does provide for the heathen, otherwise, they would all perish without getting saved. That’s all part of His grace in the earth.

Matthew 5:45b (KJV) 45  … for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

Getting back to our topic of why bad things happen, let me reiterate that God gave Adam and Eve dominion over this earth and they were supposed to subdue it the same way God does things—with their words. They were made in the image of God, Who brought all things into existence with His Words. And that’s what they were supposed to do.

Fast forward and we see that according to Jesus, we are supposed to take dominion over the circumstances of life with our words. In fact, you are, today, the product of the words you have spoken throughout your life: fear, doubt, anxiety, unbelief or faith, hope, love, joy, truth, etc.

Romans 10:9-10 is not only true for salvation, but your very life. What you believe in your heart  and confess with your mouth is what you get.

Romans 10:9-10 (KJV) 9  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Ephesians 3:20 (KJV) 20  Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

In Ephesians 3:20, we see that God works according to the power that works in us. No power in us, no working of God’s power. So, how do we get the power in us? By getting born-again and filled with His Holy Spirit and getting the Word in you. There’s power in God’s Word because God’s faith is in His Word. He and His Word are One. The more Word, the more faith, the more power!  Yes, many are compliant in that area but the power is still not working—why?

Let’s look at Philemon 6:

Philemon 1:6 (KJV) 6  That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.

God’s power doesn’t work automatically but according to what we believe. We have to acknowledge that His power is in us and able to cause manifestation in our lives. Many people won’t believe that, let alone confess that the power of God is in them to enable them to heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, and cast out evil spirits.

Matthew 10:8 (KJV) 8  Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

Now let’s look at another scripture:

1 Peter 1:5a (KJV) 5  Who are kept by the power of God through faith …

Everything goes back to faith—do you believe or not? And just for the record, believing is not with your head, it’s with your heart. You don’t have faith in your head, you have faith in your heart. It’s always a heart issue with God. Believing in your head is mental assent. Believing in your heart is where the power is.

So, tying it altogether, we see that since God has already done His part by giving us His promises, it remains for us to do our part and that is to walk by faith and not by sight and trust in the Lord with all our hearts and not lean to our own understanding. But above all, to commit ourselves to Him in everything. That way we stay under the umbrella of His protection.

There’s one more thing I want to mention: the blessing of the tither. In Malachi 3:10-11, we see that God rebukes the devourer—the devil—for the tither. It’s called Tither’s Rights. But, you have to believe it in order to partake of the promise. This will keep you in good stead.

We have to fully commit to following the Lord: studying His Word, walking in His Word, and doing His word. We can’t be hearers only and expect the blessings to fall on us like ripe cherries off a tree. Surely we’re smarter than that!

Christianity is not a religion—it’s a relationship with Almighty God through His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ. And if your commitment is anything less than wholehearted, you’re in for torment and heartache.

The devil is out to rob, kill, and destroy and he doesn’t care whether you’re saved or not. He’s out to rob your faith so that you have no protection from God. His protection is like an umbrella. If you stay under the umbrella of His Word, you’ll be protected. But outside the umbrella is the curse and the curse respects no one! The only protection is faith in God and His word which puts an invisible shield of protection around you.

Remember the Israelites in the land of Goshen? The plagues stopped at God’s invisible shield, thus protecting the Israelites. The Egyptians were not so fortunate. The plagues attacked and devastated them.

God’s heart is to protect us but if we get out from under His umbrella, His hands are tied. The curse is running rampant and will continue ‘til Jesus comes back.

So, what do we do? Commit your all in all to God. Actually make Jesus the Lord of your life, not just your Savior. Grow in faith in God’s Word and watch great things happen in your life!

2 Corinthians 5:7 (KJV)
7  (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)

Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV) 5  Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Malachi 3:10-11 (KJV) 10  Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
11  And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.

John 10:10 (KJV) 10  The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Why Do Bad Things Happen? Part I

Why do bad things happen to the good, bad, saved, and unsaved? That’s a question that’s been asked many times by many people—maybe even you. But, even though we wonder about that, the question is a wrong question. The question should be, “Why weren’t they protected?” Let me explain.

It doesn’t take much to know without a doubt, that bad things happen. Just look around you, or better yet, just turn on the news, which should really be called: All the news that’s not fit to hear!

Believe it or not, there really are good things happening around the world but it’s probably not “sensational” enough. People seem to be drawn to the gross and morbid!

Now, getting back to the original question about why bad things happen, even to good people. We don’t seem to have a problem when bad things happen to bad people, but why good people? Why Christians?

I mentioned earlier that the original question is a wrong question. The question should be asked, “Why weren’t those people protected?” God has given us many promises of protection but many seem to fall short of the manifestation of those promises.

Let’s go back to Genesis and find out what happened in the beginning. In Gen. 1:26  we find that God gave Adam and Eve dominion over the whole earth but when they sold out to Satan, they opened the door for Satan to move right in, and with him came the curse. Everything on planet earth is cursed. Everything is getting old, decaying, and dying. And if God hadn’t intervened by removing Adam and Eve from the Garden, they would have eaten of the Tree of Life and lived forever in the state of sin and under the curse with no way out. There would have been no hope for the human race.

But, God had another plan. (God always has a plan!) He removed Adam and Ever from the Garden, they didn’t eat of the Tree of life. Therefore, the way was now open for God to send the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, to redeem mankind back from the devastating effects of the curse and make a way for those who believe to be able to spend eternity with Him.

However, the curse is still in the earth. Jesus didn’t annihilate the curse. Satan is still legally the god of this world. What He did do was redeem us from the curse so that it doesn’t have its debilitating effect on us. But, it’s up to us. We have our part to do. God has already done His.

2 Corinthians 4:4 (KJV) 4  In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

In II Tim. 1:12 we see that God is well able to protect us from evil but only if we commit ourselves to Him.

2 Timothy 1:12 (KJV) 12  For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV) 5  Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

As we see, God has provided for our protection but only if we do it His way by committing all our ways to Him. Otherwise, He’s under no obligation to guard and protect us. It’s only the grace of God in the earth that protects those who are not committed to Him.

Even Christians can be guilty of not committing all their ways to the Lord and therefore are not under the umbrella of His protection. That opens the door for the enemy to move in clobber them. Don’t be like that. Stay under God’s protective umbrella, committing all your ways unto Him, and win every time.

[More to follow in Part II.]

Genesis 1:26 (KJV)
26  And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

1 Peter 1:5 (KJV) 5  Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV) 5  Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Faith is Not a Feeling!

So, what’s all the “ado” about faith? Either you have it or you don’t – right? Wrong!

There’s much ado about faith because God is a faith God and makes much ado about faith! Therefore, we should also. That should settle it for us.

Now, for those “touchy, feely” people, faith is not a feeling! We don’t feel faith. People often say the “felt” this or that when referring to faith but it would be more accurate to say, “I was impressed about this or that.” It’s not a feeling. It’s a “sensing” in your spirit.

So, just what is faith? It’s simply believing what God has said in His Word and then acting accordingly. It’s our positive response to what God has already provided by His grace. Without faith, we can’t please God and if we can’t please God, we’ll be in s constant state of frustration because as Christians, we intuitively want to please God. That’s our heart. Well, isn’t it great to know that we can actually, as human beings, please God Almighty, Creator of the heavens and earth? We can please the Creator of the Universe by using our faith and believing and acting on His Word,

Feelings and emotions can’t be trusted. They’re fickle and unreliable and dependent upon circumstances which are in the devil’s realm. He simply changes the circumstances by rearranging things. It’s all the same, just packaged differently.

That’s why you can’t “move” to get away from your problems because they’re devil-influenced and he’s out to steal, kill, and destroy. But, don’t let him. Stand your ground and keep walking by faith. Your shield of faith will quench all the fiery darts of the enemy and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, will keep you on the right path.

Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and lean not to our own understanding. This will keep us in good stead.

John 15:5 tells us to abide in the Word and let the Word abide in us. We are to abide in the vine because without Jesus, Who is the Word, we can do nothing of any value. We abide in Him and He abides in us by the Word. That’s why it’s so important to know the Word of God. Not knowing the Word is the greatest enemy of our faith.

God has all the answers we’ll ever need, even before we need them. Don’t rely on your feelings. Rely on God’s Word and walk in victory!

Hebrews 11:6 (KJV) 6  But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
John 10:10 (KJV) 10  The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Ephesians 6:16-17 (KJV) 16  Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV) 5  Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

John 15:5,7 (KJV) 5  I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
7  If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

Can We Actually Hear from God?

Does God speak to people today? Can we really hear from Him?

I believe the heart of every true believer is to be able to hear from God and know that He’s the One speaking. But, how does that happen and can it really happen?

Let’s go to the Word and see what God has to say about the subject. We are told to heed His voice, walk in His ways, and do His works by doing His Word. Now, just how can we do this if we can’t hear from Him? Well, we can hear and it’s not all that hard. God never requires us to do something that we can’t do.

The Holy Spirit indwells us and witnesses truth to our spirit. For example, if you declare, “I’m saved by the Blood of Jesus,” you’ll notice the witness (a sensing) in your spirit acknowledging that this is true. It’s a knowing and a peace in your spirit that this is true. This is one way we hear.

Another way is the peace factor. An example would be when you’re trying to make a decision about something. Which option do you have peace about in your spirit? Which one indicates a scratchiness? If you’re really sincere about hearing from the Lord, you’ll be able to trust that peace. But if you’re determined to “have it your way,” you won’t get a true reading.

Then there are the times when, after you’ve prayed about something, you go about your business and then, like out of nowhere you get a thought or an idea about what to do about your situation. Actually, it doesn’t come out of nowhere. It comes out of your spirit and that’s when we say, “This Lord told me…”

Can we ever going to be absolutely positive that what we’re hearing is from the Lord? Maybe, maybe not. It depends. Many times I have found that when I step out on what I’ve heard, that’s when I get confirmation that I really did hear. But even if we make a mistake, God can realign us. Course corrections are always happening. This walk of faith with the Lord is not without winding roads!

When the Space Shuttle first went up, the astronauts made course corrections every ten minutes. And even though they had a 500 mile landing strip, they landed just inside 5 feet of the 500 mile strip!

Nothing is a straight path because we live in a world that is under the curse and we have an enemy who’s out to steal, kill, and destroy us. But the good news is that God has given us weapons to overcome the devil and his evil plans against us. Praise the Lord of glory! Remember, God goes before us and makes the crooked places straight.

We need to set our faces like flint, keep our eyes on Jesus, and hear from the Holy Spirit as He leads and guides us into all truth. It’s such a comfort knowing that we have answers to whatever the situation.

God is faithful, faithful, faithful!

John 10:10 (KJV) 10  The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
2 Corinthians 10:4 (KJV) 4  (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
Ephesians 6:10-11 (KJV) 10  Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11  Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Luke 6:47-48 (KJV) 47  Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:
48  He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.

John 2:5 (KJV) 5  His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
2 Corinthians 5:7 (KJV) 7  (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
Isaiah 45:2 (KJV) 2  I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron:

John 16:13 (KJV) 13  Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

Are Your Beliefs Hindering God’s Promises in Your Life?

In John 5:1-16 we see the narrative about the man at the pool of Bethesda, who had an infirmity for thirty-eight years. He wanted to be healed—that’s why he was there. Then along comes Jesus and heals him. That should have been a time of rejoicing by all those who witnessed it.

However, the Jews, instead of rejoicing, rebuked the healed man for carrying his bed on the Sabbath! They missed the whole point because of their Law—their tradition.

Mark 7:13 (KJV) 13  Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

You see, God’s Word for healing had no effect on the Jews because they negated it with their tradition of the Law. And sadly, many Christians do the same thing today. Too many times people miss out on God’s blessings because they’re steeped in their traditions which cancel out the Word of God. They go by what their parents, grandparents, or even other ministers have believed and taught regardless of whether or not it lines up with God’s Word.

For example, people who were taught that healing passed away with the apostles have a hard time believing that God still heals today, even though the Word is replete with healing scriptures that verify God’s willingness to heal today. That belief will negate your faith for healing and you’ll miss out on His promises.

Another touchy subject is that God is a God of abundance and wants His people to prosper in every area of their lives. Many will fight you tooth and nail to stay poor! Yet they go to work every day trying to make enough to make ends meet. Go figure!

God has already provided for our abundance and we should appropriate it into our lives so we can do all that He has called us to do. Yet many do without because they have a poverty mentality–tradition–that keeps them from enjoying the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

We have to question why we believe what we believe so that we can fully honor God by truly believing His Word and walking in it.

All of God’s promises are for us today. Jesus is the same today, yesterday, and forever. God doesn’t change and neither do His promises. There’s no expiration date! One size fits all! Whatever you see in the Word, you can have by faith. Don’t let other people’s unbelief stop you from believing God for all that He has for you. Go for it!

Will You Only Believe What You Can See?

John 20:24-29 (KJV) 24  But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.
25  The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.
26  And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.
27  Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.
28  And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.
29  Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

In this passage we see the account of Jesus appearing to the disciples after His Resurrection. But, as you know, Thomas wasn’t there and when he heard about Jesus’ appearance, unless he actually saw and touched Jesus, he would not believe. But, when he saw Jesus, he then believed.

Now, I want you to notice Jesus’ response to Thomas, “Blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.” That’s referring to us! And He’s saying that the ones who believe (that’s us) without seeing are the ones who are blessed—empowered to prosper.

You see, (no pun intended), if you’ll only believe what you can “see” with your five physical senses, you’ll never walk by faith. And without faith it’s impossible to please God! That’s a very serious thing.

Everything we do as Christians, must be done in faith and walking by faith involves believing before you see the results. Take healing, for example. According to Mark 11:23-24, we are to believe we are already healed before we see the manifested healing. Many people won’t do that and they hinder their healing.

Then there’s financial abundance. God has abundance for us but we have to do what He said to do—tithe and give offerings. You have to release finances before you receive. Many people won’t do that because they don’t believe it will happen. That’s not faith. If you can see it, you don’t need faith for it because it’s already manifested.

The truth is that you can see more with your eyes of faith than you can with your physical senses because the spirit realm created the physical realm. It’s the parent force.

Let’s endeavor to walk by faith and not by sight and enjoy all that God has for us!

Hebrews 11:6 (KJV) 6  But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Mark 11:23-24 (KJV) 23  For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24  Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

1 Peter 2:24 (KJV) 24  Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Malachi 3:10 (KJV) 10  Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
Luke 6:38 (KJV) 38  Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

2 Corinthians 5:7 (KJV) 7  (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
