Are You Standing Firm or Looking for a Way Out?

Someone once said that you should never have an escape plan—no quitting! Yes, God does provide a way of escape for us when the enemy attacks but that’s not what I’m talking about here.

When we’re going through some things—issues/problems of life—we need to stand firm on God’s Word in faith. Quitting should not be an option. Quitters never win and winners never quit!

One sure way to fail is to quit standing on God’s Word. Remember, God’s Word works and has never failed. Of course, some have failed to work the Word, but the Word didn’t fail.

Our society, as a whole, quits when the going gets tough. But, as Christians, we’re supposed to trust in the Living God and His Word to put us over. Proverbs says that if we faint in the day of adversity, our strength is small. But, we’re not going to faint. We’re going to pull ourselves up and stand firm on God’s Word, doing what He says: draw near to Him, resist the devil and he will flee.

Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. God is well able to get you through and deliver you. He always cause us to triumph in Jesus!

1 Corinthians 10:13 (KJV) 13  There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
1 Kings 8:56 (KJV) 56  Blessed be the LORD, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant.
Proverbs 24:10 (KJV) 10  If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.

James 4:7 (KJV) 7  Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Ephesians 6:10 (KJV) 10  Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
2 Corinthians 2:14 (KJV) 14  Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

What are You Worshipping?

If you were to ask any Christian what they worship, they would say that they worship God. Yes, that may be so but what else are they worshipping?

The unsaved world worships celebrities, famous people, money, their job, their things, and a myriad of other things. They honor and hold in high esteem these people and things and, sadly, this had crept into the Church. Worship that is reserved for God alone has been misguided and deceived many sincere and well-meaning Christians.

We can understand how the world worships things other than God, but it ought to be so among the Church. We cannot afford to let our worship and honor get misguided and fixed on the wrong things. Some even put their families before God! And therein lies the answer to why many things don’t work out for us.

God’s Word is very specific in that He has commanded that we have no other gods before Him. Our jobs, our money, our families cannot be number one. God is number One and there is only one place for number One and it’s for Him.

Too many times, we get so busy with our everyday lives that we, whether on purpose or ignorantly, put God on the back burner. If we have time for Him in our busy day, then okay but if not, then we push Him off to another time and day.

In Matthew 6:33 Jesus tells us to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all our necessities will be added to us.

Let’s make some adjustments and put God back in the number one place and watch things change. You’ll find that you even get more accomplished when you spend time with your Heavenly Father at the beginning of the day!

Exodus 20:3 (KJV) 3  Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

Matthew 6:31-33 (KJV) 31  Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32  (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33  But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

What’s Your Focus?

So, what’s your focus? We’re always focused on something and it’s either positive or negative. It’s our choice.

In any given situation, you can focus on the “problem” part or the “solution” part. You can be upset about what’s wrong or be thankful for what’s right. Too many times we get sidetracked by the negative part because it screams so loudly that we forget that there’s a multitude of things to be thankful for.

Focus is a matter of perspective. The half full glass vs. the half empty glass is a classic example. Either way, the glass is only filled half way but it’s your perspective that determines your attitude. Negativity never gets the blessing because it’s so busy being negative that it misses the very blessing that’s been there all the time.

Sometimes we misinterpret situations and make our own problems when there really isn’t one. Many times it’s not a problem unless you make it one.

Another thing to keep in mind is that negativity can be very habit forming. I’ve seen where people get into it and that’s all they see—negative, negative, negative. It’s really hard to be around them because they’re so focused on the wrong things and not the things of God.

Let’s do ourselves a giant favor and focus on whatsoever things are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, and of a good report. And, keep a thankful heart, continually praising the Lord for His goodness to us!

Philippians 4:6 (KJV) 6  Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Philippians 4:8 (KJV) 8  Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Light Begets More Light

Psalm 36:9b (KJV) 9… in thy light shall we see light.

What does this scripture mean that in His light shall we see light? Let’s look closely and glean some truth from this verse.

Light is a powerful force in the earth. It scatters the darkness and exposes what has heretofore been hidden. It’s the same with God’s light. When you walk in the light of His Word, you “see” things that you didn’t see before. We call it revelation of the Word.

God is light and in Him is no darkness (I John 1:5b). This means that if you walk in the light of God’s Word, you’ll really walk in the light and His light will expose and reveal to you the things that you otherwise would not see.

Light exposes the hidden things of darkness. That’s one of the reasons that criminals like to do their dirty work under the cover of darkness. But moving right along, let’s look at the positive side of light’s exposure.

We know that God’s Word is replete with revelation upon revelation and that we, as human beings on planet earth, will never fully know all there is to His Word. It will take all eternity for God to reveal it to us. But we can know in part and to a greater or lesser degree, we, as individuals, can glean revelation from the Word as we walk in the light of the revelation that we do have.

Light begets light. As God’s Word is revealed to you, if you’ll walk in it, then He will reveal more to you. There are layers upon layers of truth in every verse and it takes diligence and commitment to peel back the layers.

Remember when you first began to study the Word and how exciting it was to understand something for the first time? Then, as you continued to study, all of a sudden, you received more revelation regarding the same verse? This will continue to happen because there is so much wisdom and revelation in His Word that we can only grasp bits at a time.

I remember an incident when I gave someone a mini book of the Gospel of John. He returned it a short time later saying that he had read it! He completely missed the whole point. He was to keep it and read it over and over to glean God’s truths from it. And that’s what I think happens to many people. They read the Bible in part and feel that once they do that, they’ve accomplished a monumental feat and can move on to something else. They have no clue of the richness of God’s Word and that therein lies the answers to all of life’s questions.

We all need more light of God’s Word and should sincerely desire it. This goes along with loving His Word. Then, as we put forth the effort, and it will take effort, we will get more light and revelation that will change us forever!

1 John 1:5b (KJV) 5   … God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

John 8:12 (KJV) 12  Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Luke 12:2 (KJV) 2  For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.
Hebrews 4:13 (KJV) 13  Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

Why all the Emphasis on God’s Word?

As you have noticed, I use many scriptures each time I write a blog. This is not to fill up space. I have plenty of good reasons why I do this but the first and foremost one is because it is God’s Word—His incorruptible Word.

You see, if you’re ever going to walk in the victory that God has provided in His Word, you’re going to have to develop a truly sincere love of His Word. In fact, the Word of God has to become the benchmark for all that you do. How many times have I said that!

Yes, there are those who ignore God’s Word and things seem to go right for them but that’s not all there is. That’s not the end of the program.

This life is a mere droplet in the sea of eternity. We’re only here for a short time and if that’s all you focus on, you’re short-changing yourself by a million miles.

God’s Word has the answer for everything you’ll ever face in this life, but, and I mean but, you have your part to do. God has already done His part by speaking forth His promises and you know He can’t lie because every Word He speaks comes to pass and will continue to do so throughout all eternity. Praise the Lord for His goodness to us! What more could we want when He’s given us everything we’ll ever need!

Of course, there are those who say, “I don’t see His promises manifesting in my life.” That may be so, but it doesn’t negate the Word. God’s Word is true in spite of people’s experiences. Never base your belief in God according to someone’s experience. That’s very bad and will get you nowhere fast.

God’s Word is the Truth that will set you free as you continue in it. You must plant it in the good soil of your heart, water it, and continue in it, if you want the results that God has promised.

In the parable of the sower, the only ground that produced was the one that, when the seed was planted, was watered and cared for. The other types of soil didn’t produce. Let’s all be good ground for the Word of God to grow in, develop, and produce 30, 60, and 100fold results.

1 Peter 1:23 (KJV)
23  Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

John 8:31-32 (KJV)
31  Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

32  And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

God is Well-Able to Keep Us!

Did you ever consider that if sin weren’t so alluring and enticing, people most likely wouldn’t sin? It’s the allure that entraps people. But, God has already planned ahead for us to be able to resist the “sin” temptation.

Yes, we’re all tempted to sin in one way or another. It’s the result of the curse in the earth. However, anything that God requires of us, He has already made a way for us to be able to do it. That’s because He is righteous and holy and only does what is right. Remember, He loves us with an everlasting love and that Love has provided everything we’ll every need on planet earth. Praise the Lord of glory!

Let’s look at I Peter 1:5:

1 Peter 1:5 (KJV) 5  Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

The word kept means to guard, preserve, protect. And notice that we are kept by the power of God through faith. It seems that everywhere we turn, we have to use our faith. It’s not just knowing the scripture that will keep you. You have to believe it and walk in it by faith. Everything we do, we must do by faith because everything works by faith and that’s how we please God. That’s how we enter into His promises.

So, if it’s not working for you, check up on your faith level.

Next, let’s look at Ephesians 3:20:

Ephesians 3:20 (KJV) 20  Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

Not only does God promise to keep us, but it is according to the power that works in us. That power is the dunamis power of God—the miraculous, explosive power of Almighty God. That should say it all! But, how much of that power is working in you? The way to assess it is according to how much Word is working in you. How much faith in God’s Word is developed in you? That’s the indicator of how much power is working in you.

The good news is that we determine how much power we have operating in us by how much active Word is in us. Then, using our faith, we can access that power and be the victorious blessings that God has called us to be.

We are well-able to resist temptation because we have self-control in our reborn spirits. Temperance is self-control. But, even though we have self-control in us, we still have to yield to it or it’s of no effect. Remember, God has already done His part. He’s already provided everything we’ll ever need and also the way to do it. But, as you know, we have our part to do. If we don’t do our part, it won’t get done.

So, you see, you are the one who determines whether or not you yield to sin or to the fruit of your reborn spirit. You can do it. Go for it and walk in victory!

Galatians 5:22-24 (KJV) 22  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23  Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24  And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

Galatians 5:22-23 (AMP) 22  But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness), peace, patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness (benevolence), faithfulness,
23  Gentleness (meekness, humility), self-control (self-restraint, continence). Against such things there is no law [that can bring a charge].

James 1:3-4 (KJV) 3  Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
4  But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

1 Corinthians 10:13 (KJV) 13  There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
1 Peter 5:8-9 (KJV) 8  Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
9  Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

Is Fear of Dying Keeping You from Living?

How many times have we wanted to do something but fear stopped us? It could be going on a trip/vacation, buying a new house, buying a pet, or any other multitude of things that we have avoided because of fear of things not going right.

Fear of a pet dying can block your even considering getting one because you can‘t deal with losing your sweet pet.

Fear of not being able to afford the upkeep of a house can prevent you from getting your dream house.

Fear of losing your friends can keep you from reaching out to even make friends.

Then there are those who have really gone overboard and won’t even leave the house, except for basic essentials, because of fear of an accident.

This is not the way God intended us to live a life worth living. Let’s look at His Word and see what He has to say about this.

Hebrews 2:14-15 (KJV) 14  Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
15  And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

Notice that fear of death causes a lifetime of bondage. People who are afraid of dying, which many are, have limited themselves in being able to do what God has called them to do. This fear is not from Him but from the devil whose mission is to take you out, one way or another. If he can’t kill you, he will try to keep you from enjoying the very life that God has for you to live.

Jesus said that the enemy, the devil, is out to steal, kill, and destroy but He came to give us abundant life that overflows!

John 10:10 (KJV) 10  The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

John 10:10 (AMP) 10  The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).

Fear of dying is not only about you dying but also has within itself fear of losing something. Fear is fear any way you cut it and it’s evil and demonic. It kept the Israelites out of the Promised Land for forty years when it was only about an eleven day journey. But, instead, they wandered around for forty years because of fear. God had told them that the land was theirs but they didn’t mix faith with His Word and let fear rob them of His promise. We need to learn from their mistake and not let fear rob us of our Promised Land!

Faith and fear are opposites. Faith opens the door for God to move in our lives. Likewise, fear opens the door for the devil to wreak havoc in our lives, causing us to miss out on God’s best for us. And, another thing about fear is that it actually draws to you the very thing that you’re afraid of. This ought not to be.

As born-again Christians, we have Almighty God on our side, Who has provided everything we’ll ever need to be victorious in this life. But, we have to appropriate His promises because they don’t just work automatically. Everything works by faith because that’s the only way to please God and to access His promises.

Hebrews 11:6 (KJV) 6  But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
2 Peter 1:3 (KJV) 3  According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

Time after time, God tells us to “fear not” but to trust Him in all we do. Fear, if left unchecked, will paralyze you to the point that you won’t even be able to hear from God.

John 14:1 (KJV) 1  Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

John 14:1 (AMP) 1  DO NOT let your hearts be troubled (distressed, agitated). You believe in and adhere to and trust in and rely on God; believe in and adhere to and trust in and rely also on Me.

John 14:27 (KJV) 27  Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
John 14:27 (AMP) 27  Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.]

God’s Word tells us to resist the devil and he will flee. That’s what we must do with fear—resist it and tell it to flee. Resist means to actively fight against it. It takes effort but it will work if we persevere. It’s God’s Word and His Word, spoken in faith, always works!

James 4:7 (KJV) 7  Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Is Your Fruit Showing?

2 Peter 1:5-8 (KJV)
5  And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
6  And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
7  And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
8  For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

If these things be in you…you shall abound and be fruitful. So, what are the things Peter is referring to? Back up and let’s look at the things he says we are to add to our faith: virtue, knowledge (of the Word of God), temperance (self-control), patience, godliness, brotherly kindness, and of course, love.

He starts with faith, adds to it, and ends with love. This is significant because faith works by love (Gal. 5:6). And, as you know, these attributes are also listed in I Corinthians 13:4-8.

So, how does walking in these attributes cause us to abound and be fruitful in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ? Simply, that knowledge of His word (He is the Word) and acting on that knowledge, causes our faith to grow and faith is what pleases God. Isn’t that our whole goal—to please God?

Walking in these attributes is really quite simple because we already have them in our re-born spirit: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance. But, we need to yield to these fruits. You can’t pray and ask God to give them to you because he already has. However, they don’t automatically manifest just because you get born-again. You have to on purpose yield to them. It’s similar to yielding to other cars when entering a highway from and on ramp. You give them the right of way.

For example, instead of flying off the handle, stop and say, “I yield to self-control and the love of God that’s in me.” Then you get out of the way and let self-control and love come forth. But if you don’t, on purpose, yield to these fruits, they won’t automatically come forth. It’s like God’s Word. Even though it’s for all of us, if you don’t, on purpose, apply it to your life, you won’t benefit from His promises.

Let’s make every effort to yield to the fruit of our spirits and be fruitful Christians, abounding in every good work.

Galatians 5:6b (KJV) 6  … but faith which worketh by love.

Galatians 5:22-23 (KJV) 22  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23  Meekness, temperance:

1 Corinthians 13:4-8a (KJV) 4  Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,5  Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; 6  Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; 7  Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. 8  Charity never faileth:

Is God’s Word Working for You?

God sent His Word to us so that we can have and enjoy this life on planet earth. He wasn’t trying to fill the pages of the Bible. His Word is important, paramount, creative. It’s our very life if we’ll do what He has said to do.

Many Christians pray and pray and never see their desired results. Why is that? For sure, it’s not because God’s Word doesn’t work. His Word is filled with enough power to cause it to come to pass. It’s got His DNA in it! And it isn’t just for information. Every Word of His has explosive, creative power in it. So why doesn’t it seem to work every time?

Isaiah 55:11 (KJV)
11  So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

First of all, God’s Word works every time it’s prayed in faith and received. So let’s start there. If you’ve been praying about a certain situation and not seeming to get your results, who’s at fault? Good question.

Many people blame God for their prayers not getting answered when, in fact, it’s not His fault at all. His Word works every time it’s prayed in faith and received. And therein lies the key to why your prayers aren’t getting answered. The culprit’s been found and it’s you! How ‘bout that!

Let’s back up and analyze what is happening.

Proverbs 4:20-23 (KJV)
20  My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.

21  Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
22  For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
23  Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

We see here in Proverbs that we are commanded to attend to God’s Word because they are life and health to us. Is that what you’re doing—attending to God’s Word—putting it first place in your life?

Attend means to pay attention. It comes from the Latin word meaning to stretch toward something. That’s what we’re to do with the Word—pay attention to it, stretch toward it and then embrace it with our whole heart.

Jeremiah 29:13 (KJV)
13  And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

Do you have a love of the truth? God’s Word is truth. It’s the only truth that will actually set you free if you walk in it. And it’s the only way you’ll get your prayers answered. It’s only by God’s Word that we see victory in our lives. It’s not the world’s ways because they’re tainted with the devil’s input and meant to steal, kill, and destroy us. However, God’s Word always trumps the devils tactics.

Having a love of the truth necessitates having a love of God’s Word. The two go hand in hand because God and His Word are ONE! Even Job honored God’s Word more than the food he ate! (Wouldn’t that be a good diet plan!)

Job 23:12 (KJV)
12  Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.

We honor God by honoring His Word and walking in it. And when we honor Him, He said He will honor us. Wow, Almighty God said He will honor us! How awesome!

1 Samuel 2:30b (KJV) 30  … for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.

Let’s get back to reverencing and honoring God’s Word and doing it with all our heart. Then we’ll set ourselves up for receiving the great and mighty promises that He has given us!

John 8:31-32 (KJV)
31  Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

32  And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

— Pamela

Are You Attributing to God What the Devil is Doing?

What? How can I say that? Because many people are doing just that—attributing the devil’s works to God, as if He is the One who is actually doing it or has done it. This is wrong.

So, what kinds of things do people attribute to God that are not His doing? And, as I always say, let’s go to God’s Word and find out what He has to say about this.

First of all, God is not a liar—He can’t lie even if He wanted to because every Word He speaks comes to pass.

Numbers 23:19 (KJV) 19  God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

Isaiah 55:11 (KJV) 11  So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

So, why do people attribute calamities and misfortunes to God, thinking that He has some redemptive purpose in their suffering? Not so. The devil is the one who is out to steal, kill, and destroy you and everything you have and love. But, Jesus came to give us life and life more abundantly.

John 10:10 (KJV) 10  The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Whose report will you believe? Will you believe that Almighty God, the One Who actually is LOVE and truly loves us with an everlasting love, is the One Who causes hurricanes, tornadoes, fires, accidents, etc.? No, no, no!!!

God is not punishing us for anything, His judgment has not been unleashed yet, as long as the earth lease is still in effect. We are living in the dispensation of GRACE—God’s unmerited favor that He chooses to extend to us, His willingness to use His power on our behalf to cause us to be victorious in every area of life.

Remember, God is the One Who gave His all—the Lord Jesus—so that we could be forever with Him. This is not a God who would turn around and then cause calamities in our lives.

Yes, the world is out of control because of sin. The whole world is cursed because of sin. And that won’t change until Jesus comes back. But—

We, as born-again, Spirit-filled believers, are not under the curse. We’ve been redeemed from the curse of the Law and have been given a mandate from God to take dominion over the whole earth and bring it into submission to His plans and purposes. Granted, we have not totally succeeded in this yet but we’re on the right path.

Galatians 3:13-14 (KJV) 13  Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
14  That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith

Genesis 1:28 (KJV) 28  And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Another thing I want to point out is that there is a big difference between what happened in the Old Testament and what occurred in the New Testament. Jesus came to redeem us from the curse of the Law and all that it entailed. We are no longer under that Covenant but under a New Covenant, build upon better promises and ratified in the precious Blood of the Lord Jesus.

God is looking out for us in that He has already provided everything we’ll ever need to be successful and victorious on planet earth. Our part is to find out what we are to do and to do it. God’s Word doesn’t automatically come to pass in our lives without our participation. We have our part and God has His part. We can’t do His part and He won’t do our part. That’s the way it is.

So, if God’s Word doesn’t seem to be working in your life, you need to find out where you’re missing it and start doing your part. Then you will be able to say that you indeed see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living!
