What’s the Big Deal About Faith Part IV

Continuing from last time:

Two of the most dangerous places to be are: Ignorance and thinking you know everything.

Ignorance is dangerous because you simply don’t know what you need to know at the time you need it.

And it’s the same with thinking you know everything there is to know about the subject at hand. Why is that? Because if you think you already know all there is to know, you cut yourself off from further revelation and insight into God’s Word and that, dear brothers and sisters, is a very dangerous place to be. No one person has ever exhausted all there is to know about any scripture in the Bible. So we have a lot to learn.

We need to stay humble and teachable in the things of God and be open to His leading at all times. That means listening to the Holy Spirit when He’s prompting us and endeavoring to get us to see light.

James 4:6 (KJV) 6  But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

When we walk in God’s word, in the light of His Word we can see clearly which way to go. But when we step out of His Light, His Word, we step into darkness because that’s what is out there. The further away from the light, His Word, and His way of doing things that we go– the further and further into darkness we go. Let me give you an example:

Many of us have wondered how things in this country [the USA] have gotten so bad and perverted. The short answer is that the enemy – satan – has always sought to control God’s people and has worked diligently to get his agenda to work. But the further people get away from the light, the further into darkness they go – hence the current perversion that’s running rampant his nation.

People are out of control and into deception where they are calling good evil and evil good. [Isaiah 5:20] This is an abomination to the Lord and the further away from the Lord they go, the further into darkness and deception they go. That’s why they can do such heinous things and their consciences don’t convict them.

What’s the Big Deal About Faith Part III

[We’re still talking about why faith is important.]

Brothers and sisters, we all know that there are times we do “the right thing” but our heart isn’t in it. That’s what I’m talking about when I say that everything we do must be done in faith or it’s in vain.

Faith is a heart issue with God – not our actions and good works. Even in getting born-again, we have to do it from our hearts and not as a rote repetition of Romans 10:9-10. We have to actually believe in our heart that Jesus died for our sins, went to hell to defeat satan, God raised Him from the dead, and He is seated at the right hand of the Father. If we believe that in our heart, and speak it forth with our mouth, then we are saved.

You see, even though God has freely given salvation for all man-kind, it doesn’t benefit anyone unless they actually reach out and receive what God has freely given.

Ephesians 2:8 (KJV)
8  For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

You see, it’s all by grace through faith. Grace basically is all that God has freely given and provided for us – independent of our actions. Faith is what reaches out and receives what He has given.

So what is this faith that God so desires of us to walk in? It’s the way He operates and functions – now and always. He’s a faith God and we’re faith children of a faith God. We are to live every moment of our lives by faith – rising up, sitting down, going to work, doing our chores, even in our recreation time. God wants to be a part of everything we do so that we can live the victorious life He has for us. It’s only when we choose to live independently from His ways that we run into trouble. And, brothers and sisters, this is a very dangerous place to be. Why?

What’s the Big Deal About Faith Part II

Hebrews 11:1 (KJV) 1  Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Hebrews 11:1 (AMP) 1  NOW FAITH is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].

Our textbook for this series is the Holy Bible. That’s where faith is and that’s where God shows us how to walk in His ways.

Let me start by saying that faith is not a theological position like: what faith are you, nor is it a movement – the Faith Movement, nor is it a group – that Faith Group. The God-kind of faith is a way of life. It’s how we are to live, function, and operate every nano second of our lives because that’s what God has ordained.

Genesis 1:26 (KJV)26  And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

We are made in the image of God and therefore, we are to emulate Him. He is a faith God and so we are to be a faith people. But we can’t be what God has ordained us to be if we don’t learn and develop in the faith that He has for us.

[We’re still talking about why faith is important.]

Let’s look at another scripture:

Hebrews 11:6 (KJV) 6  But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Hebrews 11:6 (AMP) 6  But without faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him. For whoever would come near to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He is the rewarder of those who earnestly and diligently seek Him [out].

Here we see that faith is the way we please God and isn’t that what we, as born-again Christians want? Isn’t that our heart’s desire – to please our heavenly Father in all we do?  Yes God want us to do good, to give, to walk in love toward everyone, but if what we do, no matter how good it is, if it’s not done in faith, it doesn’t even get God’s attention.

What’s the Big Deal About Faith Part I

Faith! We’ve all heard about faith: faith for this, faith for that, faith in people, faith in your dog, faith that the sun will rise tomorrow — all kinds of faith! But the faith we’ll be learning about is the God-kind of faith that can remove the mountains in your life that the enemy has built. It’s the faith that heals your body, protects you, restores what the devil has stolen, heals your relationships, brings you out of poverty and sets your feet on solid ground, etc. It’s the very faith that God Himself has used, still uses, and will always use throughout all eternity. That’s the kind of faith that we’re going to be learning about. Praise the Lord of glory!

So, without further ado, let’s begin.

Why is faith important? There are many reasons but the main reason is because God said it is! He’s a faith God and that’s how He functions and operates and that’s how He has ordained us to operate here on planet earth and throughout all eternity.

To walk in faith we must feed our spirits and that means feeding on God’s Word, which we will do. And as we develop our faith, we learn how to be the overcomers God wants us to be. To be an overcomer involves choices and to make the right choices you have to hear and believe the right things to do it.

Here are some scriptures to study:

Hebrews 11:6 (KJV) 6  But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Galatians 3:11b (KJV) 11  … The just shall live by faith.
2 Corinthians 5:7 (KJV) 7  (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
Galatians 2:20 (KJV) 20  I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Are You Living in Victory or Limping Around Like a Pitiful Orphan? [Part III]

Romans 10:17 (KJV) 17  So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Galatians 2:20 (KJV) 20  I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Faith is a fruit of your reborn spirit and it needs to grow by feeding it the Word of God. We also see that the faith we have is actually the faith of Jesus. How awesome is that!

Philemon 1:6 (KJV) 6  That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 1:3 (KJV) 3  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

These awesome scriptures show us that in order for our faith to become effective, we have to acknowledge all the good things God has put in us. That’s a mouthful in itself! But when you do acknowledge those good things, it will build your confidence and strengthen your faith, setting you up to do awesome things for God! Go for it!

The bottom line is that the God-kind of faith is your positive response to what God has already given you through His grace. It’s believing what He’s already done and acting on it.  Notice I John 5:14-15:

1 John 5:14-15 (KJV) 14  And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:15  And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

Romans 1:17b (KJV) 17  … The just shall live by faith.

God’s will has always been and will always be His Word – Pamela

Are You Living in Victory or Limping Around Like a Pitiful Orphan? [Part II]

The point I’m endeavoring to make is that as we get into God’s Word and find out what He has already given us, and then walk in that revelation, our faith will grow exceedingly. [II Thes. 1:3; Philemon 6] You can’t have faith beyond your knowledge of the Word of God because that’s where faith is – in God’s Word.

Since God has given each of us the measure of faith, just what is that measure? It’s the whole Word of God! But what you do with it will determine the results you get. Little word, little results. Much Word, much results. If you want to know how much faith you’re operating in, check your Word level!

Hebrews 11:6 (KJV) 6  But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

God would be unjust to require us to please Him with faith if we all had different amounts. Remember, He’s no respecter of persons.

Acts 10:34 (KJV) 34  Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

2 Corinthians 5:7 (KJV) 7  (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)

Here we see that it’s God’s will that we walk by faith and not by sight. The way we do that is to walk by what God has said in His Word. But you can’t do that if you don’t know His Word.

John 15:5 (KJV) 5  I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

John 8:31-32 (KJV) 31  Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;32  And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Since Jesus is the Word, we can say that without the Word (and walking in the Word) we can do nothing of ourselves. Without Jesus and His Word, we are nothing, can do nothing and have nothing. But with Him we can do all things because all things are possible to Him who believes (the Word). Jesus is the Word of God. To walk with Jesus is to walk in His Word.

Are You Living in Victory or Limping Around Like a Pitiful Orphan? [Part I]

It has come to my attention recently that many Christians are woefully ignorant of their inheritance in the Lord Jesus. What this means is that they are living far below their privileges in Christ. So, I ask you, in what do they believe? In what do you believe?

Let’s examine what God has to say in the Owner’s Manual – the Bible! And as some would say – has it come to that? Yes, it has come to that but it should have always been there. When you got saved, on what did you base your salvation – on how good you were or on how holy, righteous, gracious, and forgiving God was? Your salvation was based solely on what Jesus had already done – His Atonement. So, what happened? Life!

Yes, life happens but God already knew that and that’s why He so graciously provided everything we’ll ever need in this life to be victorious. Which brings me to faith.

As you see in Acts 10:34, Eph. 6:9, and Col. 2:25, God is no respecter of persons. Salvation is the great equalizer and everyone starts out the same. Rom. 12:3 tells us that we’re each given the measure of faith – not more to some and less to others. Unfortunately, some people think that way but it’s not true.

We’re each given the measure of faith which is a portion of God’s very own faith. What we do to develop it is our part to do. It’s now in our ball park. According to Rom. 10:17, the God-kind of faith comes by hearing God’s Word. Therefore, we see that in order to have and walk in the God-kind of faith, we have to know God’s Word because that’s where faith is – in His Word.

We don’t even have to have a truckload of faith – just a mustard seed size will move a mountain and pluck up a tree! [Matt 17:20; Luke17:6] Wow – what a concept!

If Love was all it Took, We’d Never have Another Problem! [Part II]

We are the ones who must pray protection over our families: Isa. 54:17; Ps. 91:10-11; Luke 10:19; II Tim. 1:12; all of Ps. 91, pray in tongues, and plead the Blood. Coming to God as a beggar only reveals that you don’t know your rightful place in the Lord, that you don’t know His will for you, and that you don’t trust Him to hear and answer your prayers. [I John 5:14-15]. Case in point is when people solicit as many people as possible – prayer groups, prayer lists, etc. to pray for them or their loved ones. Just how many prayers do you need to get the job done?

Actually, all this says is you’re thinking that the more people praying for your case will change God and get Him to move on your behalf. Well, I have good news for you, God has already moved! Jesus’ atonement was complete and perfect, satisfying the claims of justice forever!

God doesn’t need changing! He’s on your side and has already provided everything you’ll ever need to overcome your problem or situation. [II Pet. 1:3-4] Praise the Lord of Glory for His exceeding grace that He’s poured out on us!

You need to get into God’s Word and find out what He’s provided and then stand on His promises in faith. Kick the devil out and confidently stand on what God has already given and walk out the victory that He’s provided for you. And the goodness of God that’s seen on you will draw the unsaved to want what you have! Glory to God!

Isaiah 54:17 (KJV) 17  No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.

Psalm 91:10-11 (KJV) 10  There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11  For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

Luke 10:19 (KJV) 19  Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Praise the Lord of Glory — Pamela

If Love was all it Took, We’d Never have Another Problem! [Part I]

Too many times when bad things happen, people wonder why it did because “they really loved” those people – family members, friends, etc.

But is love all it takes? Let’s look into this.

People who have cared for others, especially children and family members, wonder what went wrong when something does go wrong

They reason that they did so much to take care of those loved ones – school projects, after school activities, appointments, shopping, cooking, loving, etc. So, what happened? They poured their love into those people and yet, something bad happened.

First of all, we live in a fallen world and Satan is the god of this world. [II Corinthians 4:4] We also know that we have a free will and God will never override our free will. So, the real question ought to be: why weren’t our loved ones protected?

Let’s check in with God. If love was all it took, then we’d all have it made because there’s no one who loves us more than Almighty God. He gave His all – Jesus – to get us back into relationship with Him. But — we know that bad things still happen to the good, the bad, the saved, and the unsaved. So, there must be more to this situation than meets the ol’ proverbial eye.

As I said, if love was all it took, we’d all have it made. But there’s more to living on planet earth than this. God has, in His divine agape love for us, provided everything we’ll ever need to be victorious on planet earth. But it is only accessed by faith.

Hebrews 11:6 (KJV) 6  But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

As we see, not only do we please God by faith, we must also believe that He is God and that He rewards us by answering our faith-filled prayers. We are never told to come to God as beggars. Heb. 4:16 tells us to come boldly to the throne of grace to find help in time of need.

Releasing the Supernatural Power of God!

As born-again Christians, we desire to walk in the supernatural and manifest God’s power to a dying world. And rightly so. People need to see that we have something they don’t have but desperately need in their lives.

So, just what is it that we are to manifest that will cause the unsaved to sit up and take notice that we are different and serve a God who does exploits through us?

Do we have joy and peace in the midst of trials and tribulations or do we complain and bellyache the same way as our neighbors? Does our patience outlast the problems? Do we use our God-given authority and take dominion over the devil and his evil plans against us? Are we ready to lay hands on the sick and see recovery? Do we take our authority and use the power of God to overcome sickness and disease?

All of these questions should be answered “yes” if we’re in tune with the Holy Spirit and following His ways because He has come to manifest the Word of God and glorify Jesus. That’s what should be happening in our lives.

The Holy Spirit is constantly leading and guiding us into all TRUTH and magnifying Jesus. And isn’t that what we want – to magnify the Lord Jesus? When people get healed and set free, this glorifies the Lord and brings Him honor.

There’s a sick and dying world out there that needs to be introduced to Jesus and His Word. And just as He used signs, wonders, healing, and miracles to get the people’s attention, so should we. [John 14:12] Then when you have their attention, you have their ears. Tell them the Good News of the Gospel and give the glory to God!

Romans 1:16 (KJV) 16  For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
John 14:12 (KJV) 12  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Mark 16:18 (KJV) 18  They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Matthew 10:8 (KJV) 8  Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

Go for it — Pamela
